The most popular hiking trail is the Adolf Munkel Trail, about 9.2 km long and takes about 4-6 hours. The view here is very beautiful, you can see the Odle mountain up close. The restaurant at Geisler Alm is delicious, suitable for resting after hiking. Suitable for all ages and really worth the trip.

Had the most amazing time at dolomites this past summer. We were there for 5 days and everyday we saw many beautiful places. We started off going to the famous Lake di Braies and took a boat out. The water was so clear you can see the reflection of the mountains. Then we went to hike at Tre Cime di Lavaredo for a few hours. We did 10km trail. But didn't do a loop because we found another trail that led us to the small lakes and good view of the mountains. Next we drove to Secada. We took the cable car up to see the most breathtaking landscape. It rained and fogged up in the beginning. But when the sky cleared up it was all worth it. I spent 8 days in the Dolomites and would like to share my experiences. 💙The Dolomites are a mountain range in northern Italy that is part of the Alps. It’s a budget-friendly destination to enjoy the Alps, offering a cheaper alternative to Switzerland. ♥️Based on my experience, the Dolomites can be divided into eastern and western regions. 💛Western Dolomites Most travelers use Ortisei as their base, but due to high accommodation costs, I stayed in Bolzano instead. Before my trip, I planned to visit Alpe di Siusi, Seceda, Santa Maddalena, Soprabolzano, and Lake Carezza. However, I ended up visiting Alpe di Siusi, Seceda, and Soprabolzano. ♥️Eastern Dolomites The main base city is Cortina d’Ampezzo, but I chose Dobbiaco due to its more affordable accommodation. My planned destinations included Cinque Torri, Tre Cime, Lake Misurina, Lake Braies (Lago di Braies), Lake Dobbiaco, and cycling across the Austrian border. Among these, I visited Tre Cime, Lake Braies, and cycled to Austria. 💕Accommodation Accommodation in the Dolomites is expensive, so I opted for youth hostels. Reservations can be made via email through their official websites. 💙Transportation Passes South Tyrol Pass This transportation card is available for 1, 3, or 7 days and allows unlimited use of regional buses and trains within the South Tyrol area (some exceptions apply, such as buses 439, 440, 442, and 444). Passionate Italian Journey (4) World Natural Heritage - Dolomites Verona-Bolzano-Verona April 23, 2025 (Day 3) Weather: Cloudy, 7-18 degrees. After yesterday's long flight followed by sightseeing, plus the effects of jet lag, I felt "dazed and confused" and "disoriented" in the evening, with low efficiency and mistakes in my travel journal. By 11 PM, I could barely stay awake and went straight to bed, sleeping soundly through the night. I woke up at 6 AM feeling refreshed and back to normal, ready to start a new day of exploration. After about two hours of driving, we headed north into the eastern foothills of the Alps - the Dolomites (Photo 1). The Dolomites, a world-famous tourist destination and outdoor sports paradise, is a World Natural Heritage site with 18 peaks averaging over 3,000 meters in height and 9 natural parks. The sun and mountain peaks appeared and disappeared intermittently. Among the many peaks, the 3,300-meter-high Geisler Peak, nicknamed the "most photogenic mountain peak," stands out (Photo 2). This area boasts Italy's most beautiful glaciers, forests, meadows, lakes, streams, and other landforms, with beautiful mountains and extraordinary peaks (Photo 3). The deep and long Val di Funes valley, situated at the foot of the Geisler Peak, has earned the reputation as the "Pearl of South Tyrol" (Photo 4). Upon entering Val di Funes, your eyes are greeted with fresh, lush greenery (Photo 5), well-arranged forests, and mountains embracing all sides (Photo 6). The Geisler Peak stands majestically behind the valley, like strong arms silently protecting the town and its residents (Photo 7). On the hillside, the spire of St. Magdalena Church, together with the surrounding traditional-style houses, verdant lawns, and distant forests, creates a beautiful rural landscape (Photo 8). Nearby Lake Carezza, at an altitude of over 1,600 meters, is a hidden gem in the Dolomites. This small lake formed by melting mountain snow and ice displays pure emerald-colored water, backed by snow-capped mountains, creating a scene of perfect beauty (Photo 9). By the time we finished touring the Dolomites, it was past 3 PM. Heaven on Earth and the natural land on the Dolomites I can say in one word that this trip used up a lot of beauty, traveling to Northern Italy this time. I didn't expect and dream that when I actually saw the tourist attractions, they would be so incredibly beautiful. Many people may not have a picture of how to travel and whether they can travel by themselves. For me, I have a self-guided travel style by renting a car and studying where the tourist attractions are. Once you understand the places, you can plan your route more easily by taking the same route and places together, and tying other zones together for the next day. The advantage of traveling by self-driving in a country with beautiful nature is that we will gain profit from passing each route because every area will be beautiful along both sides of the road. I guarantee that we will absorb every journey of the Dolomites in an unforgettable way. For the highlights of the Dolomites, you must come! • Trecime Di Lavaredo is a tourist highlight. Here, you must come to trek on a small, easy route. Walking from the starting point to the picture takes about 2 hours. The path along the way is not fast enough. It's easy. The destination is a very beautiful view.
