It takes almost 50 minutes to ride from Yonago Station to Sakaiminato Station, but when you're surrounded by so many characters, you'll arrive in no time. Another nice feature is that each station is named after a yokai, and you'll be informed by Kitaro's voice. To my surprise, from the side, I saw a giant Kitaro statue holding a Matsuba crab. Standing at 6.5 meters tall (7.7 meters including Medama-Oyaji), it's the tallest Kitaro statue in Japan. I spent a time full of surprises and discoveries near Sakaiminato Station in Tottori Prefecture, Japan. This place combines rich history with modern vitality, and every corner exudes unique charm. I took sixteen photos to record this wonderful visit. There are many things to see and do around Sakaiminato Station. First, I visited the famous Mizuki Shigeru Road, which is lined with statues of monsters based on the manga Gegege no Kitaro by manga artist Mizuki Shigeru. These statues are lifelike, attracting many tourists to stop and take pictures. I took pictures of these interesting sculptures, hoping to share this childlike fun and creativity with everyone. Next, I visited the nearby market, which was a great place to try some local delicacies. The market sells a wide variety of fresh seafood and local specialties, especially fresh crabs and fish, which are mouth-watering. I sampled some of the delicious local cuisine and every bite was unforgettable. In addition, the port of Sakaiminato is also a lively place. The fishing boats and docks here showcase the busy local fishing activities, and the sea breeze gives people a unique harbor atmosphere. I took many photos in the port, capturing the scenery and people's lives here. This trip to Sakaiminato not only allowed me to appreciate the rich natural scenery and cultural heritage, but also let me experience the enthusiasm and hospitality of the local people.
