Schafberg is a mountain in the Austrian state of Salzburg. Situated within the Salzkammergut Mountains range of the Northern Limestone Alps, the Schafberg rises 1,783m from the shore of Wolfgangsee Lake. There is a lovely restaurant at the top where you can sit down at the balcony for a meal or drinks and take in all the amazing breathtaking views of the gorgeous Austrian alps. There are no atm or credit card machines at Scharfberg so be sure to bring enough cash for the restaurant.

In just 11 minutes, the new cable car conquers the 908 meters of altitude to the top of St. Gilgen's backyard mountain. if taking the cable car is not for you. the hike is easily doable. From the bottom to the top, it will take about 1 hour. once at the top you can eat at the restaurant and marvel at the incredible Austrian countryside. I would recommend hiking up and taking the cable car down to experience everything.
