All Moments About Shuili Township
Nantou Shuili is a ground-level store. Ah Cheng Beef Noodles
Address: No. 183, Minzu Road, Shuili Township, Nantou County
Atmosphere/Facilities: Traditional noodle shop, residential-style family noodle restaurant
Features: braised beef noodles, various side dishes
Price per person: 100 yuan
Rating: A local beef noodle restaurant near Shuili Station, located near the Shuili Land Office in Nantou. There were a few people during the meal, and we ordered two bowls of beef noodles (110 yuan/bowl). First of all, the price of beef noodles is really low in this era of inflation, and the beef is braised beef tendon slices, not half tendon and half meat! The soup is a clear stew of stewed radish! There are about 4-5 pieces of meat! The texture is very soft and tender! Different from the thick braised one! This stew is relatively refreshing for a hot afternoon in Nantou! The taste is just the right amount of saltiness, and the store also provides free pickled vegetables and chili oil for you to add! Guests with a strong taste can add as much as they want! The side dishes are priced according to the plate! Most of them are 35 yuan a plate! The braised food platter is quite ordinary, the peanuts are spiced boiled peanuts, and the kimchi cucumbers are available individually or in pairs! They all have their own characteristics but the taste is really just average! Overall, the beef noodles are great value for the price, and the side dishes are not bad and you can choose according to your personal preference!

In the past, Shuili Township was known as 'Little Taipei'
Shuili Township was originally part of Jiji Township. In 1950, it was separated from Jiji Township and established as 'Shuili Township'. In 1966, it was renamed 'Shuili Township' and has retained the name to this day.
Shuili Township experienced a golden era due to the flourishing logging industry and timber exports, earning it the nickname 'Little Taipei'. At that time, shops, factories, furniture stores, eateries, and restaurants related to the timber industry were connected, creating an unprecedentedly prosperous scene.
With the evolution of time, traditional agricultural industries have declined. In recent years, to seek innovation and change, Shuili Township has actively cooperated with the tourism railway, holding events such as the Water Festival, Train Festival, and cycling races. These activities are combined with cultural tourism industries, aiming for more refined and diversified development. The goal is for Shuili, this mountain town, to once again become an important leisure and tourism area in the central region.

The Snake Kiln originated in Fuzhou, China. The kiln was built along the hillside in a long strip shape. It got its name from the shape of a snake from a distance.
About 1 hour drive from Taichung High Speed Rail Station
The Shuili Snake Kiln is a large park with various pottery works and landscapes everywhere.
The ancient buildings and streets are very atmospheric and great for taking photos
The highlight of the park is of course the snake kiln. The Shuili Snake Kiln has a history of nearly a hundred years.
In addition to taking photos with the snake kiln outside, visitors can also actually walk into the wood kiln to visit. It's very interesting!
