Economat Vila Complex Another place you can see but also take a short break and enjoy an Amandina (yes, you have to try this decadent Romanian chocolate dessert) is the Economat/”At the towers” Vila complex. #bucketlistreboot One should be aware that there are 2 gondolas. A state run one which starts from behind the New Montana hotel and a second one which starts from “Cota 1400m”. The latter is only accessible by car. You could take a bus as well but you’ll need to consider walking as part of that. Whichever means you choose, once you are up at 2000 m, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views and amazing fresh powder snow. After all, you are in the mountains! The ski slopes are on both sides of the “Valea Dorului” valley enchanting the skier with ever so beautiful snowed peaks. One can also ski from 2000 m all the way to 1600 m however, beware not all sections are wide enough. #romania #sinaia

Although, Netflix seems to have brought international fame to this mountain resort by choosing it for its famous Christmas movies, Sinaia has always enjoyed the spotlight when it comes to attention. It’s built in Neo-Renaissance and was the residence of King Charles I. It’s now a museum of national heritage artefacts. Peleș Castle is something you've never seen before. Not even in a film. Peleș has been in the same family from the day they started building it and... it's just a summer home! The last royal to live here was the King of Romania, who passed away in 2019. The castle is owned by the late kings nephews who have kept it open to the public. The castle is over 600 years old and has its own heating and air conditioning system but not as we know it today. The very clever people who designed and built Peles were geniuses! I only visited 1 floor. You can gain access to the Royal apartments and more depending on what ticket you buy, and I would strongly recommend you buy your tickets in advance online as the queues are long! I was absolutely in awe of this phenomenal castle, and it even snowed heavily on the day. It was so picturesque

Sinaia Monastery dates from the late 1600s. The monastery is made up of two courtyards surrounded by low buildings in the centre of each courtyard there is a small byzantine church. The monastery houses the earliest Romanian translation of the Bible, dated 1668. I’ve been to some pretty grand palaces, castles and stately homes in my time and nothing I’ve seen comes close to Peles Castle in so many ways. The lavishness of the rooms the sumptuousness of the decorations, the stained glass, the woodwork, the metal work, it’s just incredible. Although it’s called a castle it really is in actuality an exquisite palace.Many tall groups come here and just spend 45 minutes having a lightning tour, I spent three hours and still could’ve stayed longer. Peles Castle can be easily reached from Brasov or Bucharest by train. Lazy syndrome. The trip was in June, but I didn't summarize it until November. I originally wanted to take the train to Romania. Who knew that after arriving at the bus station in Ruse, I saw a minibus directly to Bucharest. The ticket lady was also enthusiastic and found two seats. Well, that's it. We arranged to go in a triangle, first to Sibiu, then Brasov, and finally back to Bucharest via Sinaia (one-day tour). 1. The best experience is Sinaia (mainly Pele Castle), a little regretful that the one-day tour was too rushed, and I should have stayed for one night. Next is Sibiu, Brasov, which is relatively boring. Dracula's Castle is purely a waste of time. There are actually many attractions in Bucharest. 2. Overall, Romanian food is more exquisite than Bulgarian food, and of course, the prices are also more expensive. Pay attention to the portion size when ordering, otherwise, it will cause unnecessary waste. The last picture is in a famous local restaurant. I ordered too much for lunch, packed half of it, but didn't eat it, and finally threw it away. 3. The train is too slow. On the first day, it took nearly 6 hours to get from Bucharest to Sibiu! I considered taking a bus, but it didn't save much time and was more expensive. If time is limited, you can consider skipping Sibiu. Train tickets can be booked online as long as it is within a month. The ticket inspector will scan the code to verify the ticket. 4. Except for the capital Bucharest, there are not many international chain hotels. You can explore the local old hotels, which have a unique flavor.
