[Cerro de los Siete Colores (Hill of Seven Colors) in Purmalcalmar] — Magnificent colors woven by nature. The iconic landscape of Purmalcalmar — The "Hill of Seven Colors," which represents Purmalcalmar in Jujuy province in northwestern Argentina, is a spectacular sight layered in seven colors, including red, green, purple, yellow, and white, as its name suggests. 🌈 The hill is made up of sediments from the bottom of the sea and lake that have piled up over the years, and have risen due to crustal movements to form their current form. It belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Quebrada de Humahuaca" . ⸻ 📍[Location] Located just behind the village of Purmalcalmar, along National Route 52. Getting There - I flew from Buenos Aires to Salta. From salta I took a 4 hour bus to Tilcara where I stayed. From Tilcara I took a day trip to Purmamarca where I then visited these beautiful 14 coloured mountains also known as the Hornocal Mountains! Once you arrive in Purmamarca (a charming small town) its very easy to get to the mountains.
