It is definitely accurate to describe Mudra as a psychedelic wonderland, disguised as a restaurant/cafe. Its name is taken from the Sanskrit word referring to symbolic hand formations used in Buddhist or Hindu ceremonies, for prayers and meditations. This place puts this word into play with the multitudinous paintings of mudras on its walls, whether as eye-candies and/or substantial matters to be studied by those who are inclined. Those conversating at the tables would find it hard to pull their attention away from being drawn in by the many psychedelic-inspired works on the walls, as parts of short-term art exhibitions, or as permanent mind food, served in their wonderful, glowing, trippy splendor. Per chance you were sauntering along the dark Jl. Sri Wedari of Ubud, right after checking in a budget guest house, feeling fresh and clean, and across the street you see a record store. Without any expectations, and much like a moth drawn towards the flame, you walk towards it, inevitably sucked in. And your visual, artistic and auditory palates were not let down. Some Indonesian folksy tune, maybe from the 60s playing in the background, serenading the stacked record collections, and vintage radio cassette players on the shelves. If you are an undefeatable collector of records and other pertinent vintage items, then you would not miss the Ultraman action figures, among others, lined up on display inside the store. To find a store such as this in a place like Ubud is definitely a unexpected treat.

#getgoing2025 We came here 4 different times on our one and half week trip to Ubud. It was that good ! We stayed nearby and the reviews were good so we thought we give it a try. The food was so good ! We were impressed. The staff is friendly and so attentive. Such a relaxing atmosphere. The food was the best we had all three weeks being in Bali. We tried many different types of the entrees. The tofu soup, pork belly was my favorite. The wine was really good too. We stayed after to have drinks and enjoy the music and relax on the bean bags. #getgoing2025 Tanah Gajah is an exceptionally special place. From the moment we arrived to the minute we left the service was second to none. kind and friendly, the staff couldn't do enough for us. Driving into the gates from the hustle and bustle and traffic of Ubud, the atmosphere is the complete opposite, there was peace and tranquility in abundance So many extras and special touches were complimentary; the mini bar in our room, daily laundry, insect repellant, afternoon tea, sundowner drinks a tour of the local rice fields and neighbouring village, a complimentary photo shoot and transport into Ubud during the day… it made for a very luxurious stay. Staff preempted our every need before we knew ourselves. Arriving back to the hotel after dinner in central Ubud, reception staff greeted us with our room key. It’s these little touches that make all the difference taking the hotel from a good hotel to a great hotel. You are made to feel like you are the only guests staying there. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking with points of interest everywhere. Statues and lily ponds, seating areas; there’s always another corner to explore. We made the most of the spa facilities and had balinese massages that were skilful and relaxing. we also thoroughly enjoyed the Kecak (fire dance) in the grounds of the hotel. Food was delicious - whether it was the Western truffled scrambled eggs and chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast or the Balinese Nasi Goreng or Mei Goreng for lunch by the pool. Tannah Gajah is memorable for all the right reasons and a special place that we can’t wait to revisit nor recommend highly enough.

Each place exudes a rich cultural and artistic atmosphere. 👉 If you come to Ubud, don't miss these places: Ubud Palace Free entry, a royal building with Balinese characteristics. It's relatively small, but it's worth spending a few minutes taking photos and browsing. Ubud Market Right opposite the palace, just cross the road. It's like a mini version of Yiwu Commodity Market. Remember to bargain when you buy things! Tegallalang Rice Terraces The filming location of Jay Chou's 'Rice Field' MV 🌾. All you see is green, terraces, the famous big swing, and bird's nest photo spots. You can basically cover everything in one go. Tirta Empul Temple An ancient temple with a thousand-year history. It's said that the holy spring here is always clear and has healing properties, so many people come here to bathe and cleanse their souls every day. 🚙【Transportation】 In the center of Ubud, it's recommended to travel by motorcycle. You can easily call a car using Grab or Gojek on your phone. For long distances, it's better to rent a car or choose a more flexible and comfortable small group tour. Avoid cheap large group tours, as you get what you pay for, and the experience can be very poor! 🥯【Food Recommendations】 Pison: It's popular for a reason! The fried rice and fries are both delicious. Ibu Oka: Super famous roast suckling pig rice in Ubud, with crispy skin and tender meat, both fragrant and spicy! Seniman Coffee: One of the top twelve coffees in Asia, recommended to try the local beans hand-brewed. It is also a good place for jungle adventures, 4*4 off-roading, and waterfall play in Bali. Not only can you watch [Aragon Volcano⛰️] up close, the Tegalalang Rice Terraces is also the filming location of Jay Chou *Daoxiang*~㊙️ When traveling to Bali, be sure to leave 1-2 days for Ubud to experience a wonderful journey in the jungle❗ This time I specially checked in Ubud’s super popular [Tukad Cepung Waterfall], which has a five-star recommendation index! -- This waterfall that finally made it to the travel list is really stunning! It is 30 kilometers away from Ubud. Although it is really far, it is highly recommended! It takes about 15 minutes to hike from the parking lot to the waterfall. You need to climb stairs and there will be a wading section. There are two waterfalls here, one large and one small, the larger one is more beautiful! Just by looking at it with the naked eye, you can strongly feel its beauty! 🌞When the weather is good, you can take photos of the mysterious Jesus light in the cave. This is also a favorite of foreign tourists. It is unique no matter what angle it is in. ❗ 🔝Be sure to get up early. It is recommended to arrive before 10 o'clock. After 10:30, there will be a long queue to take pictures of the waterfall, so go early! Go early! Go early!
