Have you heard of the Wulai Old Street located at Nanshi River, No. 12, Wulai St, Wulai District, New Taipei City, 233. This place has many old historical shops that are selling Taiwanese traditional sweets and mochi, several antiques, souvenirs and several authentic restaurants that also serve local favourites. Parking here in Wulai Old Street can be abit hard, so I recommend to go there early and park infront of those unopen new shops here in Old Wulai Streets as finding a parking here can be quite tough as the streets are also rather narrow. You can take a small train in Wulai Old Street. There are many delicious vendors in the old street, such as wild boar grilled sausage, hot spring eggs, and large intestine wrapped in small intestine. Take the MRT Green Line from Ximen to Xindian, and then take a bus to Wulai Old Street, and after about 30 minutes of driving along mountain roads, I arrived there. Wulai Old Street is a town with a rich natural scenery and a strong aboriginal culture, which is rare in Taipei, and is also famous for its hot springs. The main reason I visited Wulai Old Street this time was to buy rice wine. Rice wine is a traditional Taiwanese aboriginal alcoholic beverage made by fermenting rice. It has a gentle taste and a sweet flavor, so it's recommended for women too! I strolled through Wulai Old Street, tasted rice wine at a souvenir shop, and bought a few bottles that were delicious. After that, I went to an aboriginal cuisine izakaya and had another drink while eating traditional food.
