It was once the residence of bishops and an important military defense town. The Old Bridge (Alte Mainbrücke) in Würzburg is the most lively place in the entire city. It was built between 1473 and 1543 and connects the two banks of the Main River. The bridge is decorated with many Baroque statues. Local residents and tourists like to stand on the bridge, drink a glass of local wine, chat and enjoy the scenery on both sides of the river. Würzburg Cathedral (Würzburger Dom) is an important Romanesque building in Germany. It was built in 1040 and combines medieval and Baroque styles, showcasing the splendor of religious art. The magnificent Würzburg Palace (Würzburger Residenz) is one of the masterpieces of European Baroque architecture and was built in the 18th century. The ceiling painting inside the palace is one of the largest single murals in the world and is breathtaking. Würzburg, also known as Pittsburgh in Chinese, is the capital of Franconia in Bavaria and a must-see city on the Romantic Road in Bavaria. The Main River flows through the old town, and on the river is the "Old Bridge" (Fig. 5, Fig. 8) preserved from the 15th century. On the mountain opposite the Old Bridge is the most classic attraction of Würzburg, the "Marienberg Fortress" (Fig. 9), a castle built in the 11th century. Among the many churches, the "Church of Our Lady" (built in 1735) is the most prominent. There are countless churches in the city, which is extremely rare in Germany and is known as the "City of Churches." In the evening, I walked across the Old Bridge and climbed the castle hill along the pedestrian path. From the platform at the top of the hill, I looked out over the city of Würzburg, where the sunset glow reflected the whole city, with churches, red roofs, and vineyards, all in a magnificent view.

My daughter and I went to Europe for the first time. We visited several places, and this stop was at Würzburg Residence in Germany. The Würzburg Palace is in Würzburg. We lived in Nuremberg and it was a quick hour or so by DB train. The scenery along the way was also very beautiful. After visiting the town, we went to visit the palace, which was well worth a visit. You need to buy a ticket to get in, but it's not expensive. I did a lot of research online before going, and it said that you are not allowed to bring cameras in. After arriving, I found that it is now open and you can take pictures with your camera (I don't know if it will be short or long, it's better for everyone to read the instructions if you go) The palace is super luxurious and beautiful. I heard that it is more beautiful than many royal palaces and castles. The only pity is that most of what you see now have been restored, and there are not many authentic historical relics left. This is because the palace was destroyed by bombs when the Allies counterattacked Germany in the late World War II.
