Best Travel Time
Highly recommend visiting Xinjiang at this time of year. The temperature is pleasant, the vegetation lush, and the Duku Highway is open. Compared to the busy summer travel season, there are fewer tourists, significantly shorter queues, and more affordable hotel and flight prices, allowing you to fully enjoy a comfortable travel experience.
Worry-free Group Tour, Explore Northern and Southern Xinjiang
Xinjiang is vast with scattered attractions, so joining a group tour is the most convenient way to explore Northern and Southern Xinjiang. The two of us started our journey from Urumqi, signing up for a 10-day Northern Xinjiang loop tour and a one-day Turpan tour. We then flew from Urumqi to Kashgar to join a 3-day Southern Xinjiang loop tour. In Urumqi and Kashgar, we chose to travel independently to deeply explore the local customs and culture. Next, let me share our exciting itinerary in detail.

Turpan One-Day Tour: Explore the Mysteries of Flaming Mountains
The one-day Turpan tour includes the Karez irrigation system, Flaming Mountains, and Kumtag Desert. Take the high-speed train from Urumqi to Turpan, with the travel agency arranging driver pick-up and drop-off. After the tour, return to Urumqi. However, since Turpan’s temperature approaches 40°C in summer, it is not recommended to visit at this time.

Day 1: Depart from Kashgar, pass by Baisha Lake, Muji Volcano Crater, and Taheman Wetland Observation Deck, and finally arrive at Tashkurgan.
Day 2: Visit the Wakhan Corridor, Panlong Ancient Road, Bandier Blue Lake, admire the Golden Grass Beach and Stone City, and stay overnight in Tashkurgan.
Day 3: Head to Mustagh Glacier Park and Karakul Lake, enjoy the unique scenery of Oytak Red Mountain, and finally return to Kashgar.
In Tashkurgan County, be sure to try the local specialties. The Ice Mountain Laike Ethnic Song and Dance Hall and Pakistani restaurants are both excellent choices.
Kashgar Two-Day Tour: Stroll Through Kashgar Old Town and Feel the Historical Charm
Kashgar Old Town is divided into East and West sections; it is recommended to spend a day exploring each slowly. Here, you can wander through ancient streets, admire traditional Uyghur architecture, taste various delicacies, and experience the rich folk customs.
