Linyi Departure | Super Detailed Self-Driving Tour Guide to Taierzhuang Ancient City
| Super detailed self-driving tour guide to Taierzhuang Ancient City. Dear friends, I recently drove from Linyi to Taierzhuang Ancient City and had an amazing time. Now, I’m sharing the guide with you all 👇
🚗 Transportation
Just navigate directly to the East Gate parking lot of the ancient city. There are plenty of parking spaces, making parking very convenient. The scenery along the way from Linyi is quite nice, and the drive itself is never boring.
🏠 Accommodation
Highly recommend Zhuangyuanlou Inn! The inn is located inside the ancient city, featuring a quaint and traditional Chinese style. Every brick, tile, and plant is full of poetic charm, perfect for taking great photos. Plus, it offers both dining and lodging, which is super thoughtful for us after a long day of sightseeing—no need to worry about finding a place to eat. The service here is also very warm and friendly; from check-in at the front desk to room service, every staff member makes you feel right at home.
📅 Itinerary
We arrived early and first visited the Taierzhuang Battle Memorial Hall outside the city in the morning. The hall displays a large number of precious historical artifacts and photos. Through detailed exhibitions and explanations, it felt like we were transported back to those war-torn years, deeply experiencing the fierce battles and the bravery of our ancestors. It was truly shocking and very educational.
After visiting the memorial hall, we entered the ancient city. Strolling along the cobblestone streets, surrounded by quaint ancient buildings, it felt like stepping back in time. There are many interesting little shops along the way to browse and explore at leisure.
There are also many attractions inside the ancient city worth seeing, such as Fuxing Square, Guandi Temple, and Xie Yuda Tea House. Fuxing Square hosts performances in the evening, so be sure to get a good spot early; Guandi Temple is solemn and majestic, filled with a strong historical atmosphere; at Xie Yuda Tea House, you can learn about tea culture and taste fragrant tea. There are also niche museums like the Abacus Museum and the Signboard Museum, which are very interesting and offer deep insights into local traditional culture.
At night, the ancient city transforms into a dazzling spectacle, brilliantly lit and stunningly beautiful. Be sure to take a boat ride on the shimmering river to enjoy the colorful lights on both banks and feel the gentle breeze—it’s incredibly relaxing. Don’t miss the light show at the East City Gate; the interplay of light and shadow is truly breathtaking.
🍱 Food
Since you’re in Zaozhuang, you must try the local specialties. Spicy chicken is a must-order—fresh, spicy, and satisfying, with tender and chewy chicken that goes perfectly with rice. The vegetable pancake is also great, crispy on the outside and packed with a variety of vegetables inside, very flavorful. There are also street snacks like grilled skewers and stinky tofu—perfect for a tasty break when you’re tired from walking. By the way, the food at the inn is delicious too, with fresh ingredients and flavorful cooking, ensuring you’re well-fed and ready to continue exploring.
This self-driving trip to Taierzhuang Ancient City was truly fantastic. Whether it’s the immersion in history and culture, the enjoyment of the ancient city’s scenery, or the temptation of delicious food, it’s unforgettable. Friends, start planning your trip now 💖
