4-Day, 3-Night Detailed Guide to Guizhou
✅Route Recommendations
DAY 1 Guiyang - Anshun (Huangguoshu Waterfall)
Take the high-speed train from Guiyang North to Anshun West. There are three scenic spots (visiting order + time: Huangguoshu Waterfall + Water Curtain Cave (2 hrs) 🔜 Doupotang Waterfall (1 hr) 🔜 Tianxingqiao Scenic Area (3 hrs)).
▪Huangguoshu Waterfall and Water Curtain Cave (these two spots are together). You must buy a raincoat or waterproof gear for the Water Curtain Cave.
After visiting Huangguoshu Waterfall, go to Doupotang Waterfall. Doupotang is an easy walk and is a filming location for *Journey to the West*.
Importantly, you don't need to spend over CNY 1,000 to enjoy afternoon tea at Banyan Tree Resort. Follow this route, and you can see Huangguoshu Waterfall in 15–20 minutes.
1. Exit the Huangguoshu Waterfall Tourist Service Center and turn right.
2. Walk straight ahead, pass a police station, and continue forward.
3. You will pass Waterfall Village, Qianshou Inn, and Banyan Tree Resort.
4. After walking about 800m, you will arrive at Huangguoshu Waterfall Fate Homestay.
5. Show your ticket voucher to the security guard at the entrance, and you can follow the road.
6. Search for "Xia Guan Waterfall Viewing Platform" on your map app, and you will arrive at the Banyan Tree Waterfall Viewing Tea Room (where afternoon tea costs over CNY 1,000).
🎀Congratulations! You've only walked 1.2 km to see Huangguoshu Waterfall up close.
🎀In addition, if you walk further, you will pass a Catholic church. Continue walking, turn right after seeing the bridge, and you will reach Doupotang Waterfall, about another 1.7 km. Many people visit Doupotang Waterfall first and then take this route to see Huangguoshu Waterfall, which is also an option.
Sightseeing bus. Tianxingqiao Scenic Area is very large, but the main attractions, Tianxing Cave + Silver Chain Waterfall, are in the latter half. Here's a shortcut: go directly to the latter half, which will save you at least 1 hour. The latter half can be covered in 1.5 hours.
Don't enter the Tianxingqiao ticket gate. Turn around and go up to the second floor. Walk against the flow of people, and after passing Gaolaozhuang Village, you will reach the latter half of Tianxingqiao. After completing the latter half, take the cable car back (CNY 10/person). This is the easiest route in Tianxingqiao.
Return to Guiyang in the evening and stay overnight in Guiyang.
DAY 2 Guiyang - Libo (Big and Small Seven-Holes Scenic Area)
Libo Station → Small Seven-Holes: After exiting Libo Station, turn left and walk for about five minutes. You will see buses. Both routes 11 and 13 go directly to the east gate of the scenic area (CNY 5, about 20 mins).
Small Seven-Holes → Libo Station: Just across the road from the ticket office of the scenic area, at the entrance of Zhengxin Chicken Fillet and Shuyi Burning Immortal Grass, take bus route 11 (CNY 5, currently every 20 mins, and every 10 mins during peak season).
When visiting Small Seven-Holes in Libo, exit through the east gate. Although it's uphill, the scenery is more beautiful.
Stop 1: Small Seven-Holes Ancient Bridge (10 mins). Get off the sightseeing bus, and it's a 1-minute walk to Small Seven-Holes Ancient Bridge.
Stop 2: 68-Level Cascading Waterfall + Broken Bridge Waterfall (60 mins). The waterfalls along the way are beautiful, but this section is uphill and can be tiring.
Stop 3: Stone Forest (20 mins). You can take the sightseeing bus to either the Water Forest or Cuigu Waterfall.
Stop 4: Water Forest (skip). If you have children, you can go play in the water. It's also recommended for those who like forest scenery, as it's said to be very photogenic.
Stop 5: Cuigu Waterfall (30 mins). This is the same spot featured in *Following Bell's Adventures*. It's a wide-open and lively area where you can wade in the water and admire the waterfall.
Stop 6: Wetland Station. Take the sightseeing bus to the next stop.
Stop 7: Mandarin Duck Lake (60 mins).
Stop 8: Wolongtan Pond (40 mins). This is the most essential attraction in Small Seven-Holes.
At the fork in the road, be sure to choose the "elderly" route, as the photogenic spots are all here. After visiting Wolongtan Pond, walk uphill for 5 minutes to the bus stop and take the bus back to the east gate.
Big Seven-Holes: Visit Big Seven-Holes. You need to take a boat to enter Big Seven-Holes. The breeze is gentle and the weather is cool as you travel through the mountains. After disembarking, walk to visit Yaofeng Cave and experience the wonders of nature. Follow the route in Big Seven-Holes, which takes about 1.5 hours.
Return to Guiyang in the evening and stay overnight in Guiyang.
DAY 3 Guiyang North - Kaili South (Qianhu Miao Village)
North Gate Route:
Small North Gate → Ancient Street → East Village → Museum → Lusheng Field → Gage Ancient Alley → Pastoral Scenery
If you have more time, you can climb Yedong Village and Yangpai Village, which takes about 1 hour uphill to Guzangtoujia. You can also climb to the second viewing platform of Dongyin Viewing Platform to see the terraced fields and the scenery behind the Miao village, which takes about 1 hour.
West Gate Route:
West Gate -(sightseeing bus)- Viewing Platform -(sightseeing bus)- No. 1 Wind and Rain Bridge (near the terraced fields) - No. 2, 3, 4, 5 Wind and Rain Bridges - Commercial Street (Lusheng Field, Museum) - Night view from No. 5 Wind and Rain Bridge in the evening, walk uphill - Accommodation - Next day (take the sightseeing bus from the north gate).
After entering from the west gate, take the bus to the viewing platform, then take the sightseeing bus downhill to the riverside, and walk to visit the Wind and Rain Bridges, Commercial Street, and terraced fields.

Popular restaurants in Miao Village: Gengduji, Huinong Suantangfen, Houjiazhuang, Caotang Tea House.
DAY 4 Qianhu Miao Village in the morning, return in the afternoon.
📌Travel Tips
Guizhou's attractions are scattered. You can take the high-speed train to Huangguoshu Waterfall, Small Seven-Holes, and Miao Village, which is convenient for those who are not driving.
It is recommended to stay in Guiyang, as it is a transportation hub, and high-speed trains to scenic spots basically depart from Guiyang.
