Port Arthur Motor Inn

Amazing location clean rooms great restaurant. Staff were very friendly and helpful going out of their way to assist with pointing out local attractions that should be visited. Restaurant had a full menu despite having little bookings due to COVID and the food was very good as well as reasonably priced. On arrival, the staff had already turned on the heat in my room as it was a cold day and opened the restaurant bar for pre dinner drinks. Highly recommend staying at this location
Village Family Motor Inn

Very good place. Kids loves it. Place was big, we love it. We just wish the heater can heat the whole place, but unfortunately, it can only heat (warm) upstairs when its really cold. Also, there’s a strong smell when you open the door, between kitchen and toilet/shower room. Can’t describe the smell, but very strong. Also, if you will need to cook, you must bring your own pan/sauce pan as those ones inside the kitchen cupboard was rusty/old. We don’t mind it for 1 day stay though. We’ll definetely book again, one day 👍 #Room17

The location of the hotel is very good and the front desk service is also great. The disadvantages are that there is blood on the sheets, the hot water system is hot and cold and the sound insulation is not very good. But overall the CP value is very high
Gold Rush Inn

We had a wonderful two-night stay, thanks to early check-in. The location was fantastic, and the room was clean and well-appointed with amenities like shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. The small kitchenette with a microwave was a great convenience for reheating meals or enjoying snacks. We appreciated the complimentary coffee, tea, milk, and cookies. While the bed was a bit too soft for my preference, the overall experience was positive. The nearby restaurant offered tasty food at reasonable prices, and we enjoyed exploring Horsetail Falls and Iron Bowls within a short drive. I would definitely recommend this inn to friends.
Mayfair Plaza Motel and Apartments

The location was good! The supermarkets and some shops were located very conveniently nearby which allows for any late night walks wanted. The rooms were clean and spacious, with plenty of space for luggages and packing of any items, which I would reckon be a plus point for anyone flying off soon, given the proximity of HBA airport (17 mins away). The showers were clean and the toilet and room heater kept us very warm and toasty. Had my reservations about this place but was happily surprised at how my travellers and I enjoyed our stay. Do arrive before 6pm before the reception closes!

Excellent value for money, useful guest information package, rooms basic but clean, guest laundry even provided free washing detergent. Staff very helpful. Close to the botanical gardens and a manageable walk to the harbour and local restaurants.
Argyle Motor Lodge

The motel is perfect for a family who is traveling by car. Free parking is available at the door of the room, which is very convenient for moving things. You don't have to walk far to the parking lot like a hotel, and you have to walk back and forth for a long time if you forget something. The room is very clean and tidy, and towels are replaced and shampoo and paper towels are replenished every day. The trash can will be cleaned, and you need to bring your own toiletries and slippers. Check-in is very convenient. You will be given the key directly after checking the name information. No deposit is required. Just be aware that most of the front desks here are not 24 hours a day, and you need to check in and check out. If they come after get off work, it is best to communicate by email in advance, and they will put a password box for you, and you can check in by yourself. Our family of three stayed in a family room, which is very good. There are two rooms that do not affect each other. There is no kitchen, but there is a small refrigerator and microwave, as well as bowls, plates, knives, forks and cups. So it is very convenient to buy some cooked bread 🍞 and other things that can be done with the microwave. The transportation is very convenient, 2km away from the city, within 10 minutes drive from Coles and Woolworth supermarkets, and you can turn a corner and go straight to the highway to Hobart Airport. Our three night stay was very comfortable.

This accomodation was perfect for a short stay near the airport, without costing a fortune. It was priced well, was clean and had everything I needed. Check in and checkout were done without physical contact, and were seamless and easy. Accomodation was able to accomodate last minute late check in which I appreciated. The room was small, so for a couple with a lot of luggage might be tight, but suited my needs just fine. Would stay there again
Motel Mayfair on Cavell

A very good hotel. The proprietress is Chinese, there is no communication barrier, and she is very kind. Introducing a remarkable cave very close to Port Arthur, with absolutely unbeatable sea views. The room is very clean and equipped with a microwave, toaster, refrigerator, tableware, etc. It is very convenient for families to travel. You can see the sea view from the hotel. Self-driving parking in Hobart is troublesome. Even if you pay, parking on the roadside is generally limited to 1 or 2 hours. The parking fee for other hotels is AUD 28 a day, and they can park for free. Even if the parking space is full, there is no charge for parking on the road in front of the door. It takes 5 minutes to drive to the city center. The walk is only 1.5km, but the slope of the road is very steep and the walk is a bit tiring.
