"I took the ferry to Oslo, then a 7-minute walk after bus 81 from the port to reach the hotel. I got my room card an hour earlier than check-in time, and I really loved the top-floor room with a terrace. The hotel is right next to a shopping street. I bought an Oslo Pass, and many attractions are within walking distance, plus it's easy to catch any public transport. Although the furniture is a bit old, the room was clean and tidy, and the breakfast was delicious."

We had a wonderful stay at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Oslo, which was the perfect place to end our Scandinavian anniversary trip.
A special mention to Erik, who welcomed us during check-in. He was incredibly friendly, warm and welcoming, and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived.
We were also delighted with a Junior Suite upgrade for our 17th wedding anniversary, which made our stay even more special. ❤️
The room was spacious and comfortable, and the location was excellent, especially being so close to Oslo Central Station.

"4 metro stops to the central station (opera house, ferry terminal are all there). Room is bright, breakfast was abundant but very crowded also in Aug season. Parking is expensive because even it is a suburb outside the city, leaving cars outside paying per hour aren’t worth it. Then that’s another 37€ each dat on site. Norway in general making public parking difficult if not impossible even in suburban areas."

"I didn't have time to use the facilities as my flight was changed and I needed to leave early in the morning. I didn't realize breakfast was included (I feel like it usually isn't in Norway), and that was a pleasant surprise, even if I didn't have time to try it.
However, the best part of my stay was when I checked out very early to catch my train to the airport and the person in reception offered me a packed breakfast to go since I didn't have time to eat. I passed as I had too much luggage to manage one more thing, but I really appreciated the gesture and it was such a nice start to a long day of intercontinental travel."

"The location is not that far from train and bus station, so you can walk about 17 minutes, if you don't have too big luggage. Otherwise, there are seversl tram lines that can take you there in just a two stops, while the stop is just in-front of the hotel.
We only stay overnight, having a small breakfast box from the reception at 5 AM.
The third bad was not ready, but the reception boy came in 10 mimutes and prepared it for us.
There is a coffee machine in the lobby, but it was not for free, as usually in Norwegian hotels. Thrre was no coffee in the room, as well."

"This lovely family-friendly hotel is situated high up in the mountains West of central Oslo. Getting there by public transport involves taking the world’s highest metro line for about 25 minutes, and then walking up quite a step hill. The reward once you get there is a main building steeped in Norse heritage, and a wonderful view of the fjord below. We stayed in a family room. The design of the lobby is contemporary and inviting, whilst the old building’s decor evokes Disney’s Frozen.
We have stayed at six other Scandic hotels in Sweden and Germany, and this is our firm favourite. We had lunch on the outside terrace and children’s meals are priced very competitively. The beetroot sallad was perhaps a bit small but the salmon and roe on sourdough was delicious. The breakfast didn’t disappoint either.
I’ve seen other reviewers lament the climb from the metro stop. To that I’d say: Welcome to Scandinavia! This why people look in shape. Extra shout out to the receptionist who helped us with a query near midnight. Would love to return again."

"Excellent! Located in the city center, convenient for shopping, though a bit of a walk from the train station. There are also good Chinese restaurants nearby. All the hotel staff are very friendly and the hotel is very clean, especially the handsome concierge and the stunningly beautiful receptionist. At breakfast, a very kind Asian lady was incredibly attentive, respecting the elderly and caring for the young. She always made a point of asking if we wanted anything special, like egg rolls, which warmed my heart. Kindness is always rewarded. The hotel seems to frequently host DJ performances on the first floor; the place is always packed, creating a lively atmosphere."

On the day I arrived, dragging my luggage from the station on a slippery road, it took me a while to find it. There's construction happening next door and across the street, which slightly affects the view. The room isn't large, but it's fine for one person. Breakfast was also decent."

SShauna McFaulFor our stay, we booked a studio apartment at The Sweet. The room was lovely and kitchenette was well-equipped. We were able to cook meals there over the days of Christmas when most restaurants and shops were closed. The location is a little outside of the center- nice and quiet but easy to access public transit.
My biggest issue with this hotel was that communication was very… odd. As the booking notes, I called the hotel in advance to schedule my check-in. When my call was answered, I told them who I was and that I was calling to schedule my check in (for a time when the booking said check in is available). I was told no one would be at reception at that time (3pm on Dec 23) and they would text me instructions for how to check myself in. Then she confirmed my phone number and asked for my email address, but when I started to give it, she said, “oh, that’s ok. We can’t use email anyway”. Odd. Before getting off the phone, I had her confirm that I would receive a text the next day with instructions to check in.
Our train arrived around 2pm in Oslo and we still hadn’t received a text, so we waited at the train station thinking perhaps they would send the text right at 3pm since that was the time I had requested. At 3, I still hadn’t received anything, so we called the hotel again. A different employee answered from the one I had spoken to the day before. I gave my name and explained that I was calling because I had scheduled check in the day before but hadn’t received the information to check in. The employee asked where I was and told me that there were people staffing reception to help us check in, which I thought was odd because the previous employee told me no one would be there. When we got to the hotel, we rang the bell and got into the building, but reception is apparently in the basement- there is only a very tiny sign that says this- so we missed it and I called them again. A man came up with our keys and got us set to go.
We got into our room and it was lovely! About 5 hours later, I got a call from Trip saying that the hotel is trying to contact me because they are wondering why I hadn’t checked in and they don’t have a way to get in touch with me. I was sitting in the hotel room when I got this call. I told the Trip representative that I was checked in and it was fine for her to give my phone and email to the hotel.
I know the communication elements have taken up a huge portion of my review and I know they are not the end of the world, but I want to share them because I believe it would be quite simple to avoid situations like this in the future and make the guest experience that much more pleasant at The Sweet.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at the hotel overall and thoroughly enjoyed exploring Oslo!

GGuest UserLocation is convenient, about 10 mins walk from Oslo S. although it is in the direction nearer to the office buildings and away from the attractions.
Breakfast spread is amazing and tastes good. Room and bathroom are spacious, bed is soft and comfortable.
The only drawback is the amenities. There is no toothbrush provided, and I find the shampoo, conditioner, and hand wash a little too mild / diluted, would have preferred it to be thicker and foamier. Body soap is ok.

Sshay shaharThe hotel is very close to the central train station. In fact, you can cross the bridge (covered) to the nearby mall, exit on the 1st floor, cross the road and enter the hotel. The hotel's surroundings are dirty and less pleasant, both because of renovations and construction in the area and from a human perspective.
A short walk (5 minutes) brings us to the main street, or to the central square, or to the opera house)
The hotel itself, like the other chain hotels, is commendable. Free coffee/tea, water/soda in the lobby and sometimes also fruit and small pastries.
We were given a spacious room on the fourth floor with large windows that can be opened. This is important when it's hot, but the windows face an internal courtyard so there is no view and no good air exchange. The room was ventilated, but there was no air conditioning.
The bed was comfortable. A large and pleasant shower room with a wide shower that you don't have to crowd into. Two sinks and a large window.
A seating area with two armchairs and a standing lamp (without the bulb itself...)
The room was maintained to a reasonable but not excellent standard. (Lack of bulb, stains on the chair upholstery, clogged shower head that we asked to replace and it was replaced quickly).
A very good, varied and wonderful breakfast like in the entire chain.
We would return to this hotel if we had heavy luggage and came to stay overnight but not for a vacation.

GGuest UserFirst of all, my baby and I brought 3 pieces of luggage, and the receptionist didn't seem to want to help at all. When I checked out, I met a very good receptionist, who was very nice and enthusiastic. The hotel is in a good location and has a high cost-effectiveness. This price is much more comfortable than living in Japan.

GGuest UserGreat hotel with good transport links (I think you have the metro, tram and bus all within 10 min walk) but it is worth mentioning that this is slightly out of the centre so it takes about 30 minutes to get in. For business travellers with offices around I guess that dosent matter but for tourists it might be slightly time consuming although the Ruter zone 1 transport pass does cover this so more on time rather than cost for transport here. Breakfast was splendid and I really enjoyed the spread and quality which I think is even better than other 5 star hotels I’ve stayed in Oslo and other parts of EU. Staff in breakfast was great, although reception staff was not the friendliest per se - professional though just not as friendly. I put a DND on my room door twice but both times housekeeping still came to clean my room so I’m not really sure if the signs mean anything. Amenities though was horrendous - nothing except poor quality towels and soap which were a let down. Overall good hotel but definitely more things could be done to achieve the maximum potential.

TtorinessApartment in great location - easy and picturesque walk or quick subway to central station and downtown area. Great little kitchenette to cook your own meals to save $ with supermarket nearby. Bathroom with washing machine, our washed clothes dried overnight hung up in bathroom because of floor heating. Easy & quick check in process even though no reception. There are staff on site - I got extra towels as soon as I asked. I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Oslo.
