I was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews on here. Front desk staff is friendly. The rooms are really nice (although the pillows are not comfortable) and you can not beat the location. You can take the airport shuttle to the hotel (great service) and it's maybe a 10 walk to the Rosemont Blue Line L station which will take you downtown. If you're seeing a show at the Rosemont Theatre it takes you maybe 5 minutes to walk. The breakfast was good (friendly omelet makers and clean up staff) although the evening drinks could be better. Some people complained about noise from atrium which is really only a bother if you are still sleeping when breakfast is served. I would definitely stay here again.

Separate the truly excellent Webster Grille restaurant from this hotel and you have ... nothing that recommends staying here. But the Webster Grille is expensive ($95 steaks and up.) So, there is a bit of a mismatch. Check-in took forever because they had one person at the desk handling a line that literally went out the door. Hotels know who is coming in and should plan accordingly. I was here 5 nights, and 6 days and got housekeeping service twice despite asking for it each day. One day they came in and emptied the garbage cans and threw some towels on the bed and tossed in a couple of Keurig cups. There are just too many other options to stay here. The beds and sheets are pretty good, but it's just a place to stay - no frills and poor service. I will look elsewhere next trip.
Red Roof Plus+ Chicago - Willowbrook

This red top is still relatively clean, the price/performance ratio can choose such a hotel to prepare breakfast, it can only be a cup of coffee. There is a supermarket store nearby.

The free breakfast is not a full buffet but a choice of egg and then usually fried potato and beefburger patty or slices of sausage. the rest was tiny yoghurt and bread for toast, or make your own waffles. there is tea coffee and hot chocolate. There was cereal and porridge but sometimes it is made so thin that its not worth eating. There is no tea in the room, just coffee. The machine had a disposable tray but they ran out so I used the same one for 9 days for tea and coffee (i got teabags from the breakfast room). Housekeeping never supplied what you asked for first time, or even second. If you want something and ask at 2pm, you will get it if you chase a couple of times afterwards by 9-10pm. There was also alot of messing about with respect to check out time. I am a member of the loyalty programme which is meant to give you an automatic late checkout. The manager gave it to me but then when I went back to ask about extending it further for a fee, it was clear the other guy behind the counter was on a power trip and the day before started saying I shouldnt have got it and as it was the manager, he wouldnt withdraw it but he could and I should only get an hour and be charged $25/hr after that etc. He was just a mean spiteful man who saw an opportunity to cause worry and distress and he did it. I had luggage to store and it was a late flight so I had to know whether to pack to store it to check out at midday, or 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 (they were messing me about with all times) but this is why I gave a 1 star for service. It is not at all professional but childish and spiteful. I had arranged the extended checkout days before and the day before they were messing me about when I had to pack and had a schedule of things to do? The worst service in any hotel I have ever been in. Hilton is no longer a 5 star experience it seems. 1 star for service.

When we first walked in, their was someone standing at the front desk waiting to greet us, unlike most hotels where you have to wait around for somebody's help. We received cookies, which were a pleasant surprise, extremely delicious, and warm. Check in was really easy, the person at the front desk was very pleasant we could tell she liked her job, she was also efficient and fast. The room was very clean and didn't smell like pets or cigarettes, like most hotel rooms do even though they say they are non smoking. We did notice the furniture was outdated and heavily used; however it is  expected, because it is a hotel room. We did not come to sit in the room and look at the 4 walls, we wanted to experience the amenities the hotel provides.     I walked in with low expectations because every hotel I've been to with a pool and a hot tub one or the other does not work. This is even after calling the hotel before booking a reservation we end up being disappointed. I was extremely satisfied when both the pool and hot tub were operational and clean. The pool towels were actually on the deck so you didn't have to go to the front desk to get them. There was an incident at the pool with 3 young teens who couldn't handle a certain kind of substance and the one ended up vomiting and all the girls ran away with out reporting it. When we called the front desk they came quickly and cleaned it up. There was a small fitness center off to the side of the pool and was well kept and clean.  Breakfast was organized, the food was cooked in variation, which I enjoyed, because I do not like my food overdone. The waiter was super friendly and very attentive to our needs they will definitely have my business again.

My family and I arrived around 330AM on a Friday night/Saturday morning. Service: 4/5 The Night staff was awesome, hospitality was IMPECCABLE! From the receptionist , bellhop helper, security, you name it! I wish I could remember their names but the receptionist was a young African American male about early-mid 20s! The morning crew and afternoon crew need some pointers from the night shift staff because they need some work. Rooms: 3/5 Our room had 2 full size beds, they were nice and spacious for all 4 of us (3 adults & 1 child). No microwave was an inconvenience but it wasn’t too big of a deal since our short was stay. Overall I would rate our stay a 4/5 (Would have been 3.5/5 had it not been for the service we experienced when checking in.
The Hyatt Lodge at Oak Brook

This is a lovely building with much attention to detail in it's design. Our room was very nice with quality furnishings with one exception. We both felt that the mattress was extremely uncomfortable considering the higher price we paid for the room. Self parking is about 1/4 mile from the hotel entrance which seemed odd to me. There was no provision for a shuttle service. We ate one meal at the hotel - a banquet for the event we attended. The food was good but not outstanding. Overpriced for what we got. No free continental breakfast.
SpringHill Suites Chicago O'Hare

O'Hare
We attended the Chicago International Miniature show at the nearby Marriott O'Hare. Because that hotel was full, we booked the Springhill Suites. They ran a shuttle to the other hotel with a super nice front desk staffer driving. The hotel itself was fine and the free breakfast was above average. Parking was on long surface lots on both ends of the hotel, but there is also an underground garage. The onsite Outback steakhouse was a plus. Rooms were good, nice and quiet despite being near airport and freeway with a microwave and small fridge
State House Inn

Came here to attend the state fair. Now i dont know much about Springfield, but im going to go out on a limb and say the state fair is the most excitement this city gets all year. That said, you would assume all hotels in the area would be fully prepared. Not State House! We arrived at 3 to a lobby full of people. Turns out no one could get a room because they ”werent ready”. Told to come back in an hour. This was the night of the Motley Crue concert so the majority of people were going to that. The one guy at the desk (i think his name was Sid?) was completely overwhelmed and the longer this went on the people got angrier and angrier. 4pm rolls around and still no rooms. People start yelling that they have had reservations since April and they want their room now (we prepaid our room back in June so i get it). We finally get the room at 530. The room was clean-ish but you could tell it was rushed. Pros: the a/c was amazingly cold and the floor we were on was quiet. Location is very central for getting almost anywhere in the city with minimal effort. Ample parking. Cons: aside from the check in debacle - The room had no soap, no extra toilet paper, not enough towels and one pillow was unusable because it had no pillowcase. I didnt expect it, after our check in experience, but no attention was given to the room for the whole four days we were there. The fitness room was gross and dirty. No cups for the water, TV didnt work, no wipes for the machines. Missing hand weights. Included breakfast was terrible looking and i didnt touch it. And i know this is not the current owners fault but WHY would you build a hotel with ZERO windows facing the capital? What a brain dead decision. I feel bad for the workers because they had to deal with a situation that was not their fault, but next time i attend the state fair i wont be staying here.

It's fine for where and what it is. Unfortunately I waited forever at the airport for the shuttle and it never came so I had to hop on a neighboring hotel's shuttle and then walk over. BECAUSE I GUESS THE SHUTTLE DRIVER NEEDED HIS AFTERNOON NAP.
