"Our stay at Granbell Hotel Colombo was excellent and easily one of the highlights of our Sri Lanka trip. The hotel offers stunning ocean views, beautifully designed modern rooms, and a fantastic rooftop infinity pool that is perfect for relaxing, especially during sunset. The location is convenient for exploring Colombo while still offering a peaceful atmosphere. One suggestion for improvement: our booking was made well in advance, and the full payment had also been completed before arrival. Since we were traveling as a family group, we had expected our rooms to be allocated on the same floor or at least close to each other. However, the rooms were assigned on different floors, which was a bit inconvenient. We kindly request that the hotel consider prioritizing room allocation for families and groups in such situations. Overall, Granbell Hotel provides outstanding value for money with its excellent hospitality, premium facilities, and memorable ambience. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Colombo, whether for leisure or business. We would definitely choose to stay here again!"

"We initially booked for one day, but loved the hotel so much that we extended our stay. Everything was excellent – from the reception and check-in to the pool, beach access, and breakfast. Breakfast had a good variety and was served quickly. There are even squirrels hopping around the hotel! The pool is warm and convenient. There are sun loungers around the pool, and the sun shines directly overhead, perfect for tanning. Beautiful sunsets, and a beach nearby with loungers you can use if you order from the cafe, where you can relax and swim. It's close to the airport, making it ideal for a rest before departure or after arrival. The sea in Negombo was the warmest we experienced during our 3-week stay in Sri Lanka."

"Although I checked in late and missed the sunset, the location was fantastic. I stayed in a Signature Plus Seaview Twin Room this time. The amenities were plentiful, and the shower pressure was excellent, making for a very comfortable stay. The breakfast was also delicious. However, I recommend dining indoors for breakfast. On the terrace, birds (crows) were eyeing the food. While the staff were constantly vigilant, some guests still had their food snatched when the staff weren't looking. The adjoining shopping center isn't particularly large, but it's perfect for a post-meal stroll or to kill a bit of time. The main reason I chose this hotel was definitely the infinity pool! Since it was the rainy season, I took advantage of breaks in the weather to use it, and it was truly amazing. I wish I could have stayed for two or more nights to enjoy it more leisurely. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay, and I would love to stay at this hotel again."

"I really made the right choice; it was incredibly clean and comfortable, totally worth the four-star price and quality. The breakfast was very generous. Most importantly, everything felt new and cozy, unlike the dampness you get in older hotels. This place was clean and dry, which is quite rare. The lunch buffet was 3800 per person including tax, and I felt it was excellent value for money with a great variety of food. For 700, it included breakfast, and they even let us check in two hours early and extended our check-out to 1 PM. I absolutely loved it!"

"I chose the newly opened Amari Hotel (Amari Colombo) for my first two nights in Colombo, drawn by its reputation for sea views. The sea view from the room and the rooftop infinity pool were huge plusses, and the service was good, but there were quite a few flaws. I stayed in a Deluxe Sea View King Room on the 16th floor. The room's large floor-to-ceiling windows directly faced the sea, offering a great view and easy sunset watching. Unfortunately, the popular Grabbell Hotel partially obstructed the view to the left, making the angle for admiring the sea from bed not ideal. The room itself was very new, but the design had numerous illogical aspects: ① The 'king' bed was actually two single beds pushed together, with a gap in the middle, making it very uncomfortable to sleep on. ② The bathroom wasn't a 'three-fixture separation' (toilet, shower, sink in separate areas), and opening the bathroom door completely blocked the toilet, leading to poor circulation and accessibility. ③ After the main light switch was turned off for a period, the power outlets also shut off, preventing phone charging. If the main switch wasn't turned off, some lights couldn't be switched off individually. ④ The curtains required pulling cords on both sides to operate, and there was no corresponding instruction in the room. I only discovered this after struggling to pull the curtains for a long time. I was quite surprised to find such design flaws in a hotel that had been open for two years. The hotel service attitude was generally good. Checking in at 1:30 AM, the concierge was still on duty, helping with luggage from the car and later delivering it to the room. The front desk staff were also very friendly, and I didn't experience any discrimination. The rooftop infinity pool on the 26th floor also directly faces the sea. The pool isn't large or deep, but it's sufficient for leisure. There's also a bar by the pool, offering panoramic views of most of Colombo, with particularly stunning scenery at dusk. Breakfast, located on the 5th floor, featured strong local characteristics, with an array of various curries spread across the buffet. Opinions were sharply divided; my wife loved it, while I couldn't get used to it at all. Overall, to fully enjoy this hotel, you need to book a sea-view room and comfortably watch the sunset from your room or the rooftop pool. Otherwise, it's just a slightly flawed, but generally acceptable, four-star hotel."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Stay at Jetwing Sea, Negombo Our family stayed at Jetwing Sea from 11th June 2026 to 17th June 2026, and it was truly an outstanding experience from start to finish. The hotel offers beautiful surroundings, excellent facilities, spacious and well-maintained rooms, and a wonderful atmosphere that made our vacation memorable. A special note of appreciation goes to Mr. Kelum Jayawera (General Manager), whose professionalism, leadership, and warm hospitality were evident throughout our stay. His dedication to guest satisfaction is reflected in the exceptional service provided by the entire team. The food was exceptionally well prepared, fresh, delicious, and offered a great variety. Every meal was enjoyable, and the restaurant staff ensured a pleasant dining experience. The bar team was equally impressive, providing outstanding service with professionalism and warmth. What truly sets Jetwing Sea apart is its people. Every member of the staff treated us like family, making us feel valued and cared for throughout our holiday. Their friendliness, courtesy, and genuine hospitality transformed a wonderful hotel stay into an unforgettable experience. "Great location, close to a lot of restaurants, cafes, bars, and One Galle Face Mall. The hotel is well kept albeit old. The pool is great. Beautiful and cozy lobby and cafe. The greatest of all is the staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Taj Samudra is the perfect home away from home whenever in Colombo. Will definitely stay here again."

"We had a lovely room on the facing the beach The bathroom was big and had a tub and shower. The bathroom amenities were also good. The room was huge but the AC was a little cold and it was hard to adjust. breakfast was ok had a few different things but not a huge range. Didn't use the pool looked a little small."

"Amazing beachfront hotel, very very good service. Rooms looks better than on photos! Extremely good price/quality offer! We stayed during New Year's Eve and Gala dinner was mind blowing - so much choice, delicacies of all sort, tasty and desers are from heaven as well. Ochen ochen xorosho. We could see all Negombo fireworks. Hotel team also provided us with the early breakfast package because we left early morning on January 1st! They really did go above and beyond to help us feel truly valuable guests! We will return! Thank you Earl's Regent Team!"
