Environment: Velavaru Island offers exceptional scenery, with crystal clear waters that reveal a beautiful turquoise hue with distinct layers of color. The surrounding marine ecosystem is diverse, and snorkeling allows for easy sightings of sea turtles, tropical fish, and other marine life. The hotel is lush with diverse vegetation, creating a fresh and pleasant air, imbued with a rich tropical atmosphere. Service: The hotel's service is attentive and thoughtful. While there aren't dedicated Chinese-speaking butlers, the hotel does have Chinese-speaking staff, making communication seamless. From check-in to dining, their warmth and professionalism are evident. Some signs and menus are labeled in Chinese, making it a convenient option. Furthermore, the hotel offers a variety of personalized services to meet diverse needs. Transportation: The resort is accessible via a 45-minute seaplane flight from Male, offering breathtaking views of the Maldives and adding a touch of excitement to the experience. While speedboats are required to travel between the resort's water villas and the main island, they run fairly frequently, running roughly every hour, making it a pleasant experience.

I stayed here solo. It was a quiet place, and it was my first time in the Maldives, so I was able to relax without worrying about other people. There are no dive shops on the island, so snorkeling is the only option, but if you let them know in advance what you want to do, they'll take you there. Unfortunately, due to the monsoon in late October, the boat was only available on the first day, but if you go during the off-season, they'll take you to the snorkeling spots by boat. You can snorkel from the beach without a boat, but snorkeling by boat gets you to better spots. Japanese people tend to associate the Maldives with overwater villas, but I personally recommend this one because it's so much cheaper. It was very easy to arrange, as the hotel staff arranged domestic flights and a guide to Male International Airport by messaging them. Lunch and dinner are available at the hotel, but there is an additional charge. They even provided a hairdryer if you requested one when booking. Personally, I want to return to the Maldives many times, so I'm looking forward to enjoying the ocean at a reasonable price.

The resort is new and beautiful located on its own private Island. It is unfortunate that you need to fly into Male, take a second flight and then a boat to the resort. You can only book the flight and boat through the resort and not directly from the airline so there is a premium price to pay. The ”lounge” at Male airport is the public area of the food court where you can select one option from a limited menu most of which you are told they do not have any of. The resort itself is very beautiful offering a 24hr bar and snack service as well as a buffet restaurant and two additional restaurants (Italian and Steakhouse) for which you need to make a reservation. During our 8 nights, we tried daily to make a reservation at the steak restaurant which does not have fixed opening days and depends on guest occupancy so sadly we were not able to enjoy this experience as many other guests who also experienced the same. We were able to make a reservation at the Italian restaurant once during our stay which meant we had no choice but to eat at the buffet restaurant where the dishes did not change much on a daily basis for the duration, it got old by the end of our trip and we couldn't wait to get to the mainland for some other types of food. The staff is all very nice and friendly and there are daily activities organized by them or many areas of beach for peace and quiet as well as a swimming pool with a swim-up bar and plenty of loungers. Overall it was a good experience it's just a shame there is not more choices or chances to try the other restaurants and food.

The island is a little small, the environment is ok, the service needs to be improved, and the bad thing is that the water in the room is the lowest price mineral water in the ordinary bottle. We also pay for the water of the voss. If you look down the date, it is a month. It’s expired, and many things in the hotel are expiring soon. This shouldn’t be the international brand hotel. Breakfast buffet with drinks, dinner buffet drinks a la carte. 3. The hotel's children's club is good, the venue is large, the staff is enthusiastic, and the children are happy. 4. The hotel's subsea restaurant can be experienced. There are three packages for adults. We ordered two packages with drinks and one children's package for a total of $ 455. 5. I brought two children and booked a sand house and a water house for 5 nights. The hotel prepared two small beds in both rooms. The feeling of vacation is generally okay. Tips are recommended, don't give too little. Tips of $ 1 are not available now, it is better not to give them. Kandima Hotel is a comprehensive resort hotel with different room types, from beach villas to overwater villas. The snorkeling, deep diving and various recreational activities at sea are very exciting.

It's a great place, with a white, powder-white beach and safe snorkeling. There are two safety officers at each snorkeling spot. The standard sand bungalows are close to snorkeling spots 1 and 2, while the pool bungalows are on the side without the breakwater, making them ideal for photo opportunities. The snorkeling is excellent, with 60cm of water inside the breakwater. Beyond the breakwater, where the ocean meets the channel, there are live corals and schools of fish. The pool bungalows are larger than the standard bungalows, with one bedroom and one living room, and a sofa bed in the living room. Both the bedroom and living room have air conditioning. The deluxe pool bungalows have a large pool, perfect for watching the sunset. Lying in the pool, you can gaze at the glass-like sea; the scenery is unparalleled. However, if you were to enter the water directly, the waves would be a bit high, making it unsafe. There are many activities on the island. We participated in the complimentary dolphin watching tour and saw a pod of dolphins. We also paid for sea fishing. The crew was very friendly and helped us catch a lot of fish, which we could enjoy for free at the restaurant the next day. The only downside is that the food on the island is average. Aque Buffet serves very limited Chinese dishes. The a la carte meals at Welldone are decent, but reservations are required a day in advance, so reservations might not be available. Overall, the cost of living on the island is reasonable, with freshly squeezed juice and non-alcoholic drinks costing around $13 including tax.

The hotel itself is very nice, the rooms and everything. The only problem is that it is far from Male airport. This resulted in a very late arrival at the island on the first day (6pm). We left very early on the last day (1pm) and had only 10 minutes for lunch on the last day because we had to wait for the seaplane in advance. Also, the seaplane is very expensive.

Because I was considering eating and drinking on the island after I hit the road, I chose this high-end Italian brand. Sure enough, the Italian food lived up to expectations. The Italian bread at the buffet was delicious, and the ham, cheese, and pizza were all very good. The decoration style of this hotel is more Mediterranean style. The bathroom has a semi-open roof and good lighting. Don't worry, both the shower room and toilet have roofs. There are three restaurants in total, buffet, Italian restaurant (on the second floor of the swimming pool), and Japanese restaurant. Japanese food will be disappointing for Shanghai tourists. The sushi rice is like ice cubes, and the sashimi is just local tuna and salmon, with very few varieties. The Russians are said to be very happy. The advantage is that you can snorkel just outside the beach house, so you don’t have to spend money to go elsewhere. The disadvantage is that all the waiters, regardless of their yellow skin, speak English, and their service to Asians is obviously cold. On the contrary, the local waiters are very serious and run around before and after. It is customary to tip here, and no one will force you if you don't. I saw many foreigners tipping for breakfast. Bring $1-5 for this and just do as the Romans do. This hotel has an agreement with the seaplane company and requires flying to the island. There is a mandatory fee of US$480 per person. This should be taken into account within the budget.
