We had 2 deluxe double rooms booked. So far so good. On arrival it looked like they didnt know we where coming. I need to mention, we were the only 3 guest in the whole resort. Check in was a bit bumpy, but we managed. After arrival we were asked for sinner, we only had to choices. Rice and curry, or chicken rice.....there are kayaks and a pedal boats available, but they will charge u 3500rs per person for half broken down kayaks even we it never mentioend anything sbout payment. So we didn't go. We took the pedal boat and were still charged. Nice birds around tho. We saw tucans and pelicans but still with no one around they still charged us upon check out. Food was ok, better go for rice and curry. 2500rs per person😜 Breakfast is chicken on toast eith pineapple, no sauce, no water, just 3, pieces of fruit. Chsrged 1500rs We had own own ssfari booked so can't say much about their service. Upon check out they try to charge 15usd for the single occupancy even tho i booked 2 double rooms. So overall i wouldnt recommend the place, mot sure why all reviews are rhst positve. Pool was murky, **** laying around everywhere and overall i found the olace 20usd cheaper as we paid, just one day before arrival.

I really liked the location. If you go there by car, you need to have the skills of a professional driver. The view from the upper rooms is very beautiful. At the moment, until November 30, there is a renovation of the pool located in the hotel. But all hotel residents are accompanied by a pool located below and there is a beautiful view of the mountains. Very good photos of the lounge pool, I highly recommend. In terms of price, most likely average of all those presented in this area, in terms of quality, a very quiet hotel not far away, the nearest street, we went down to the cafe for 6-7 minutes, this should be taken into account if you are not a sports person. Then it will be difficult for you. Tomorrow, the average European American fried eggs sausages salad. Nothing extra. If you want a beautiful view, wake up in the morning, check into rooms above the first floor. Good travels to all

Our recent stay at Mandara Rosen Yala was a genuinely pleasant experience. The hotel's commitment to cleanliness was evident, and the staff were consistently helpful, making our visit thoroughly enjoyable. Breakfast each morning provided a good start to the day, while the dinner buffet was particularly impressive, offering a fabulous spread that was a highlight of our evenings. The hotel's serene atmosphere allowed us to relax and recharge, which was much appreciated after exploring the local area. We felt welcomed and valued as guests throughout our stay, thanks to the attentive service. If our travels bring us back to Kataragama, Mandara Rosen Yala will certainly be our hotel of choice once more. It's an establishment that promises comfort and excellent dining experiences.

Really lovely place up the hill from the town. Nice and quiet, and the hosts were amazing. Gave us some delicious spiced tea on arrival and a nice mint tea with breakfast the next morning. Breakfast was also delicious (and a huge portion). The only small issue is if you walk from the train station to the hotel, google takes you on a 15 minute route up a winding steep hill. However, there is actually a direct path from the town to the house (have drawn a simple map in the photo here. Yes, you are actually on the train tracks for a minute or two. If you can’t find it, the host can explain how to find the path back into town so at least you won’t need to take the long way into town at night for dinner and fun

The view from the breakfast balcony was amazing and the breakfast was delicious. We asked for extra pancakes! The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. It is a short walk to the city centre - good location because it is quiet.

This hotel is amazing! We loved it, the only thing to note is that it’s quite a journey from Ella (around 45 mins). I would suggest staying at Ella for 1 night or so and experiencing that, then visiting and unwinding here. The staff, food and room were all fantastic.

On a hillside, the road is extremely difficult to find. Opposite is the woods, there are monkeys, squirrels, birds, very ecological, so there must be mosquitoes. No air conditioning, the toilet light changed, and the boss could not be found. There is no front desk, it is an uncle who runs his own business. He wants breakfast and coffee. He is very arrogant, and the uncle is scared to run down the stairs and scare me!

As a girl traveling alone, the hotel owner provided me with meticulous care and care. He came to pick me up at the train station. He also sent me to the train station when I left. He made me feel warm. I didn't have enough cash and he took me everywhere to withdraw money. The boss reflects the truth and beauty of the world. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. The beautiful natural environment and interesting small animals will make everyone relax. It is worth mentioning that another employee of the hotel is ready to send tea at any time. When I left, he was even reluctant to leave, his eyes were full of tears. The boss and his staff are the best combination 👍.
