Five stars all around! Big shout-out to the friendly front desk staff. I was torn between JEN Hotel and Wembley, but ultimately chose Wembley because I saw reviews mentioning early check-in, which was a huge draw for me. It's also Chinese-friendly, and the front desk staff can communicate in Chinese. Even though rooms were very tight during Chinese New Year, the hotel still allowed me to check in quite a bit earlier. This gave me a precious three-hour nap, helping me avoid the hottest part of the day and making my first day of sightseeing rich and energetic. Wembley and JEN are just across the street from each other, but Wembley is on higher floors, offering a more expansive view. It's only about 700-800 meters to both Mural Street and the Clan Jetties. There are also plenty of shopping and food courts nearby. The hotel itself is well-maintained, and soundproofing is decent. My only minor complaint: For two adults and one child, we requested an extra comforter, but they brought a blanket instead. Using just a blanket requires quite some courage!
Overall, a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was comfortable and well maintained. The only minor issues were that the door was a bit difficult to push open and there was a small amount of dust in the corner of the room.
The food was good, although the variety could be improved slightly. The gym and pool facilities were both very good and well kept. Aside from these small details, everything else was perfect. I would happily recommend this hotel.
The room was spacious and clean. The staff were attentive and prompt in attending to our needs. They served us more bottles of water in our room on request. We had a pleasant welcome with a drink and ice cream. The hotel is just beside the Gurney Plaza, which makes it convenient for shopping and dining. Highly recommended.
Booked the biggest unit available which was Hutton 8, 3 Bedroom. Felt in love the moment we open the doors, the smell of wood, rustic and filled with post heritage decorations, there are some setbacks but overall the stay was almost to my satisfactory. The setbacks are, the television given was very small for a huge house so we cannot really see and hear properly. Secondly, the living room is very very very very humid, there is a ceiling fan but all 6 of us are sweating when we sit on the sofa especially during day time.
How do I put this? This Hilton offers decent value for money, but it wasn't ideal for someone like me who's a light sleeper. The first room they gave me had a constant humming noise – I'm not sure if it was the exhaust fan or a drainpipe. They did move me to another room where the noise was a bit quieter, but it was still present. On the positive side, the breakfast spread was very generous, and the overall environment and service were excellent. There's a skybridge that leads directly to the beach, and the pool was also very clean and enjoyable, with lots of kids playing there – my own child loved it. The only downside was that it got quite noisy at night. However, the hotel seems to be situated on a higher elevation, so it was wonderfully cool in the evenings. I barely used the air conditioning, as that would probably have been too noisy. Without the AC, it was a bit chilly in the early morning and late evening, but it would definitely be too hot during the day.
strategic location to move around town area, and several food stall around by walking distance. compared to few hotels i stay before, many much parking lots available even till late night. one of only sound proof was very bad.
Overall, it was a pretty good stay. On the first night, the AC in my small room had a strange smell, like the ducts hadn't been cleaned. A very elegant and handsome staff member came to check it out and immediately agreed there was an odor, apologizing profusely. They changed the filter, but that only helps with dust, not the duct issue itself. Later, the supervisor came and denied any smell, which led to a long discussion. In the end, they gave me a discount on the room rate, since I didn't end up using that small room anyway – it was like getting a regular room instead. So, the outcome was acceptable. Plus, the room was very clean and had a great design aesthetic. When I was checking out, I couldn't get a taxi, so the hotel called one for me, but it needed cash. I was short 4 yuan, which was quite embarrassing. The same elegant and handsome staff member actually gave me 5 yuan, which I really appreciated. Despite some minor issues, I was quite satisfied with the hotel overall.
This hotel is quite a distance from the city center, even further than the Shangri-La by a few kilometers, located on the beach. There are no convenient facilities nearby, so you'll need to take a taxi to get around. However, a 2km taxi ride will take you to Dadong Seafood Restaurant. All the hotel rooms face west, offering sunset views. The gym is small and lacks equipment. There are two pools, but they are quite shallow. Housekeeping cleans twice a day, but I still noticed some stains on the bed linen. There were also small ants, which is to be expected in a beachfront hotel. During peak breakfast hours, you might have to wait. If you're looking for a quiet escape in Penang, this is the place. At least it's relatively new and offers decent value for money. During the Chinese New Year, they even had fireworks and a weekly 'iron flower' performance. It really made a great impression.
The room was clean and tidy. We were able to wait in the lobby before check-in and enjoyed welcome drinks. We could also head to the beach or the pool.
There are two pools, including a kids' pool with two slides, which the children loved. Free iced lemonade was available in the pool area, which was very convenient. Just a heads-up, there were small lizards around the pool area, so be aware if you're not a fan.
Breakfast was quite substantial. Even though it was crowded, it was well-organized and didn't really affect our meal.
Overall, I'd recommend it for family leisure stays.

Perfect stay, perfect staff, perfect breakfast, I would stay here again and again!
Fast check in process by Mr Saran. Easy parking access (no need to take any parking ticket. Receptionist will register your car plate number and you can enter and out from parking lot how many time you want). Requested birthday decorations and im so happy when i saw the decoration. It was so amazing! And we get small cake too! Thanks St Giles Wembley Penang for this hospitality! Booked Premier King room. I was impressed by the cleanliness and comfort room. The room was spacious. The bed was comfortable just the pillow is a bit hard for me. Nice view from the room. Quiet room. Breakfast 9/10. Many varieties of food. Delicious! Especially the taufufa. I repeat 3 times 😊. Gym is pretty nice and had adequate equipment. Pool view is Komtar 💜 Great location. Walking distance to 1st Avenue Mall, and most places. Hope this hotel will maintain the services, and cleanliness for long time. Will certainly return to St Giles Wembley Hotel on my next visit to Penang.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Batu Ferringhi I booked my stay through Trip.com and the whole experience was effortless. Check-in was quick and smooth, and the staff member who attended to me was genuinely warm and accommodating. I was also given a late checkout, which made my stay even more relaxing. One thing I really enjoyed was the welcome cookie. It’s such a nice and thoughtful touch, especially when welcome drinks have become quite boring and predictable. The cookie felt unique and memorable. The lobby is spacious and inviting, with a beautiful view that immediately puts you in a good mood. My room was clean, comfortable and beautifully designed. Not long after I settled in, the hotel called to check if I needed anything. When I requested a toothbrush, they sent it up very quickly. The service throughout my stay felt attentive without being intrusive. Breakfast was excellent. There were plenty of choices and the staff were always nearby to help. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The gym is nice, well maintained and has a great view. The pool area is spacious, relaxing and perfect for winding down. Overall, I had a truly pleasant stay at DoubleTree Hilton Batu Ferringhi. Great service, great facilities and a very comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely come back again. #TravelReview #HotelReview #TripCom #DoubleTreeHilton #BatuFerringhi #PenangHotels #TravelMalaysia #HotelStay #HolidayVibes #TravelExperience #LuxuryStay #VacationMode #WanderlustMalaysia #GreatService #ResortLife
Had a great stay at Lone Pine Penang. The atmosphere was peaceful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the service was excellent. Perfect place to relax and unwind. Would definitely come back again.
The Amari hotel offered a really nice and enjoyable experience. The room was new, clean, and spacious, the gym was modern and well-equipped, and the pool was stylish and stunning. The breakfast is excellent. Canteen is beautiful and bright. I’d happily stay here again!
Hard Rock - Pleasant stay. Getting a superb experience from the Lagoon room. It is an amazing experience with the pool just in front of your room deck. Head into the pool for a swim anytime and back to the deck to chill on the bench. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, on the contrary, it is a bit disappointing on the concierge side as there is a contrast if comparing the two. Breakfast is great. A lot of selection and food is holding up its quality. However, the decorations and renovations seem to be a bit ‘outdated’, but not sure if this is intentional. The pool and surrounding facility are great as well, with the beach feel with sand on the floor surrounding the pool. There are sections of the pool which have sand as well. One thing to take note of is they have lifeguards on duty.
Beautiful resort with impeccable service The rooms are nice and clean, our room had a balcony which was nice. The pool is clean and wasn’t overcrowded during our visit. There is also a deep end to the pool. The beach is small but very clean and has amazing views across the sea.
