I have upgrade my room to 1bedroom suite. My family and I love the room. My kids enjoy the bathtub. Hotel location is good too as it is near to the airport. It only cost me about RM14 by taking grab from hotel to airport. Will definitely book again..
Trip.com should have highlighted that on the day we checked in there was a fire drill!
We could jot sleep or rest after our long drive to the hotel. Rooms very old and outdated. Bathroom was small, the bidet was on the wrong side of the toilet.
Air-conditioning was not working! Maintenance had to chg the filter but still it was bad.
Room slippers was the worst, rooms carpet was coming off the metal strip almost cut my feet.
Breakfast and the staff was a plus, but overall very noisy the room, thet need to call the pest control, I think rats running in the vents!! Great free parking but you have to take a long drive back to the lobby, a huge turn around from the parking... bad experience overall.
Nice location, not too far into Batu Ferringhi to avoid the jam and yet accessible coming from George Town. Very good breakfast spread, you will need a few days to enjoy everything. Having a dedicated bridge to the small beach area is a plus. Plenty of parking space.
strategic location to move around town area, and several food stall around by walking distance. compared to few hotels i stay before, many much parking lots available even till late night. one of only sound proof was very bad.
Breakfast many variety and many people and crowded.
Hotel located 15mins from airport. However it is out of town. First time tourists is not advisable to stay there. Surrounding with restaurant in Malay village. You can hear the mosque pray time in the Morning and evening. We choose to stay here for the pool access experience and we need to attend the wedding.
The room is very spacious and long. Good with big family as there are 2 king size beds, indoor bathtub, small pools facing the sea, sauna room, jacuzzi seem not working.
We check-in early and we didn’t face to long queue. During 5pm, we saw many family are queueing to get the room.
The facilities are great for young children - board games, indoor playground, swimming pools.
The hotel is front of the beach but unable to swim. You also can see some village boat parking there.
A lovely hotel for a family stay, offering an excellent breakfast. The staff are incredibly kind and always greet guests with warmth and professionalism.
The air conditioning in the room couldn't be adjusted individually and the water heater not functioning well occasionally. Otherwise, the restaurants, KK Marts and 7 Eleven are all within walking distrance.
The room design is excellent, and the cleanliness and service are top-notch. The location is also very convenient, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores downstairs. It's just a few minutes' walk to catch a boat to the train station, and it only takes 15 minutes and 2 ringgit to get there.
Right from the moment we arrived, we were greeted by very enthusiastic bellboys and front desk staff, which made us feel right at home. 👍🏼 The adorable welcome ice cream was a particularly nice touch. We chose this hotel mainly to shop at the nearby Gurney Plaza, but it turned out not to be great for shopping. The locals basically warned us to avoid the food court outside, and since we didn't want to eat mall food, we even took a taxi back to George Town for dinner that day. So, I don't think the location is ideal, especially since the hotel is no longer beachfront after the land reclamation, and the view is much worse than before. Points deducted for a few things: the bathroom faucet was very stiff and hard to turn, the tissues weren't refilled beforehand, and the corners of the vanity weren't cleaned properly.
I found the hotel to be overall excellent and beautiful. The front desk and bellhop staff were quite enthusiastic, while others were just okay. The hotel facilities were also ample; for instance, since we arrived in the afternoon, the hotel allowed us to check in early. This meant I could easily take a nap on a sun lounger by the pool and even follow the sun to explore different parts of the hotel. The weather was great, and the ambiance was lovely. The hotel's location is fantastic, about a five-minute walk to the delicious Natsu. It was a shame that Bora Bora, right next to Natsu, was closed on Wednesday, so I missed out on the fire show, but the food was superb. The location is also a big plus for solo travelers wanting to go to the beach at night; I enjoyed a safe and peaceful time by myself. There were many breakfast options, but I felt the taste was pretty standard, nothing to write home about. My only minor complaint is that the shower head kept falling down and couldn't stay in place.

SSyazzyanaWe came on weekend and quite late already and its still quite crowded. But they can still deliver our room without the needs of us waiting some more. They do provide welcome drink at the lobby which is quite nice and refreshing. However, I do expect some simple deco for anniversary as any other 5star resort would have and I have requested it earlier in the booking remarks, but did not get it, quite disappointed. Other than that, all is good, the facilities is good, hot air balloon experience is nice.
XXthephineI’ve stayed at Lone Pine a few times and always enjoyed the experience, but this trip was a bit disappointing. The room arrangement wasn’t smooth — my first room had a constant clicking sound, so I had to change rooms. Even though I booked earlier, the replacement room still didn’t feel like a good arrangement.
Breakfast also fell short of expectations. The variety was very limited, and both coffee machines ran out of coffee beans before 9am, so they couldn’t be used. At the egg station, I requested two hard-boiled eggs, but instead of preparing them, I was told to take the ones from the nasi lemak section. Overall, the breakfast service really needs improvement.
I also went for the Elite Hour for drinks and snacks, but the snack selection was honestly quite awful and extremely limited. It didn’t match the standard I expected from Lone Pine.
I hope the hotel can look into these details, as Lone Pine is a lovely place and I truly hope to see the experience return to the quality I used to enjoy.

11390194****The room had a cool rock-and-roll theme.
The hotel offers a nice view from the room, facing the sea – it really gives off a 'spring blossoms and warm breeze' vibe. We booked a sea-view room, and the large balcony was incredibly comfortable. The sea breeze was just right, not too cold, not too hot. It made for a very pleasant holiday.
There's a big children's water park on the ground floor, bustling with a lively atmosphere. It was a bit noisy, but great for families.
The restaurant's breakfast had a lot of main courses, and while there was a wide variety, it was heavily focused on heavy, main-dish type foods. It didn't quite suit my family's eating habits. I even saw someone with a plate of curry crab; honestly, such heavy options for breakfast felt a bit much and not what I'm used to.
However, the hotel hallways had an incredibly strong chemical air freshener smell, which I found very off-putting and unpleasant.
Despite that, the hotel's scenery is actually quite decent. Taking a stroll by the sea after dinner was quite relaxing.
AAnonymous UserTraveling with a baby, I originally booked the Hard Rock, but they unreliably informed me at the last minute that the children's pool slide was under maintenance. So I canceled and switched to this Shangri-La. Check-in was very smooth, and the room type I booked included afternoon tea daily. The pool was also not crowded, and my child loved playing in the water and digging in the sand. The hotel was quite peaceful! The Shangri-La next door was noticeably more crowded, and the pool was noisy with lots of people. I'd recommend this Sanyang branch. Room service was also excellent! It's also one of the closest hotels to the city center. Quite satisfied!
