Hawa Mahal

Hawa Mahal was commissioned by the Maharaja of Jaipur and is part of the City Palace complex, extending into the royal women's quarters. It stands along the main road of the old city's commercial district, with a five-story pink sandstone facade that resembles a massive wall, densely packed with 953 honeycomb-shaped latticed windows. These windows served more than just an aesthetic purpose. In the past, royal women were not permitted to appear in public according to custom, so the designer used dense latticework to allow them to overlook the festivals and daily life on the streets without being seen by those outside. The latticework also created a cross-breeze. During the hot season, wind flowed through the front and back windows, cooling the interior, which is how the name Hawa Mahal came to be. The window wall is the back of the palace. The entrance is around the back, through the gate leading to the City Palace side. Upon entering, you first find an inner courtyard, which houses a small archaeological museum. The floors are connected by ramps, and several rooms with stained glass are filled with color when sunlight streams in. Climbing to the top floor and looking out from the small windows, you can take in the old city streets and the nearby City Palace andJantar Mantar in one view.Jaipur · 7.9 km from Amer

Amber Fort is located on a hill on the northern outskirts of Jaipur. It is the old capital of Jaipur. Because the castle is made of milky white, light yellow, rose red and pure white stone, it looks like amber from a distance, so it is called Amber Fort. . The castle covers a large area and is built on the mountain, which is very spectacular. The interior consists of many independent palaces. The location of the Amber Castle is dangerous, with a moat below and a winding high wall surrounding it. The whole fortress is commanding and defending the city of Jaipur.Amer · 999m from downtown

Nahagar Fort, also known as Tiger Fort, was built in 1734 and expanded in 1868. The purpose of building Tiger Fort was to enhance the defense capabilities of Amber Fort. There were the longest cannons in the world at that time, with strong defensive capabilities. It stands on a hill in the north of Jaipur's old city and overlooks the whole city. The scenery here is more magnificent and it is a good place to watch the sunset. There is also a legend about the naming of Nahagar Castle because the soul of the dead Prince Narha Singh has been disturbing the construction works, whatever was built during the day, it collapsed at night. He finally left after promising to name the castle after Prince Narha Singh.Jaipur · 6.9 km from Amer

The areas currently open for viewing in the City Palace include the Welcome Palace, the Court of Love, the Public Hall and the Carriage Museum. The Palace of Water was built in the artificial lake by the monarch of Jaipur in the 16th century to escape the summer heat. The Palace of Water is a palace built on water and can only be reached by boat. The place where members of the royal family take refuge in summer is located in the Amber Fort. on the way. The palace itself is not open to the public, but from a distance by the lake, the palace seems to be floating on the water, as stunning as a mirage, and the night view is even more charming.Amer · 4.1 km from downtown

Jaygarh Fort is located on the hill near Amber Fort. This fort built on the hill has strong military defense facilities and has resisted the attacks of foreign invaders again and again in history. It is also because of this castle that the whole of Jaipur is known for its invincibility, which means "City of Victory" in the local language. Jaygarh Fort was planned by Jay Singh I but was completed during the reign of Jay Singh II. It only opened to the public in 1983, so it still retains much of its original appearance. There are many watchtowers above this old castle, and it was a great fortification of the 18th century that was never taken. Unlike other ancient castles, which only use the empty shelves of some palaces, there is a reservoir, residential areas, a puppet theater and the largest wheeled cannon in the world - JayaVana.Amer · 1.8 km from downtown

Shri Khole Ke Hanuman Ji Temple, Jaipur is a sacred site that blends natural beauty with religious devotion. Located on Laxman Dungri Hill, the temple is surrounded by lush greenery, offering a peaceful and serene environment. The temple houses a giant statue of Lord Hanuman, which is solemn and majestic, attracting many devotees for worship. The history of the temple dates back to the 1960s, when a brave priest, Radhe Lal Chaube, discovered a rock engraved with an image of Lord Hanuman in this desolate area and began devout prayers there. The temple features a unique architectural style with a fortress-like design, consisting of three floors and a spacious square in front of the main entrance. Inside the temple, in addition to the statue of Lord Hanuman, there are also idols of other deities such as Rama, Krishna, Ganesh, Gayatri, and Valmiki. The walls and glass panels inside the temple are adorned with exquisite paintings, adding to the sacred atmosphere.Jaipur · 6 km from Amer

The Amber Fort in India is built with milky white, light yellow, rose red and pure white stones. It looks like amber from a distance, so it is called the Amber Fort. The architecture of the Amber Fort is complex but exquisite. It is built against the mountain and is very imposing. The famous Mirror Palace in the Amber Fort is an exquisite pattern inlaid with tiny lenses. The exquisite technique is amazing!

I recently visited the Nahargarh Fort in Jaipur during my trip in April and it was an unforgettable experience. The fort is located on a hilltop and offers stunning views of the city. It has a rich history and the architecture is beautiful. I highly recommend a visit to Nahargarh Fort for anyone traveling to Jaipur.

The Water Palace is also a site of an ancient Indian dynasty. The palace building is quite large and you can see many sculptures with Indian characteristics. The building itself is also quite interesting. It is a rare place to learn about Indian architectural culture.

The Amber Palace outside the ancient city area is free to climb. It is a typical European-style palace. The only difference between the "Great Wall" and ours is that the battlements are Muslim-style pointed arches. Climbing up the mountain, you can overlook the endless panorama of the ancient city, but unfortunately it is shrouded in a serious haze. There are few tourists here and it is unusually quiet. The Wind Palace and the ancient palace complex in the center of the ancient city are the most essential parts.

How can you not feel the atmosphere of Hindu aarti when you come to India? [Location] Enter through a small path next to the City Palace. First, pass the local market on the right, selling vegetables and fruits. Monkeys are everywhere, so be careful. Go forward and you will see sacrificial supplies, such as marigolds. [Time] Seven times a day from early morning to evening, but the time varies with the season. Each aarti lasts about 20 minutes. [Background] The deity enshrined here is Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Vishnu. Because Sawai Jai Singh, the founder of Jaipur, believes in Krishna. It is said that this black flute-playing boy is the one that looks most like Krishna himself. [Process] Store your shoes first, but you can wear socks. Wash your hands and feet in the pool. After entering, wait for the time to come, the curtain will be opened, revealing the statue of Krishna (until the time, the curtain is closed and the statue cannot be seen). The believers shout, applaud, and chant with the priests. Finally, you can walk around the main hall clockwise and go out. When circling, you can accept a kind of leaf (chewed and eaten) and holy water from the priest. Sometimes there is "ink pad" that can be applied between the eyebrows. Going to the back of the main hall, there are many people lying on the wall like the "Wailing Wall". I don't know what it means. I haven't seen this action in some other Indian temples. [Feeling] Very pious and very contagious. Calm down, feel the religious atmosphere, and try to understand the thoughts of the believers. [Precautions] Do not wear any leather products (belts, bags, etc.), but you can wear socks.
