The castle towering over the Moselle town of Cochem today is not the original twelfth-century castle. The original castle was destroyed in 1689 by an army led by the French king. It remained in ruins for 180 years after that, until 1868, a wealthy businessman in Berlin decided to buy the ruins and rebuild them, but instead of building in the original Romanesque architectural style, it was changed to what we see now. Neo-Gothic, as a summer castle.Cochem · 761m from downtown

It's a long hike to get to the bridge but it's totally worth it as it's a beautiful walk, the bridge is thrilling and you will find a seating area with tables where you can have a nice picnic as well. You can get with the car as close as possible to reduce your hike, but I definitely recommend the hike. The bridge can be scary for people with fear of heights but if you walk slow you can enjoy it and feel safe.

At the Rijksmuseum in the Netherlands, I was on the scene in Rembrandt's prime time, witnessed the open restoration of "The Night Watch," encountered Vermeer, and came across exquisite Delftware. I was deeply moved by the art of the Dutch Golden Age.
