Strasbourg Church is one of the more important historical buildings in the Middle Ages (11th to 15th centuries), and it is also a famous Gothic church in Europe. " to describe this church. The 142-meter-high minaret was added in 1439, the same year the church was inaugurated. Construction of the front wall began in 1277, with its rose windows and stone lace, and its three porticos are also decorated with exquisite statues, which is also famous for Strasbourg Cathedral. The nave is magnificent and elegant, with its stained-glass windows (12th-15th centuries) and the Pillar of Angels (c. 1230) imposing, together with the intricately carved pulpit (1484), and the famous Sieber The Silbermann organ is more pleasing to the eye. There is a one-story astronomical clock (L'horloge Astronomique) in the church, which has been in operation since 1547. Every 15 minutes, there are statues of children, youth, adults and the elderly representing the 4 stages of life, but every o'clock is on the clock. There is a god of death with an axe coming out to tell the time, and it is accurate so far. At about 12:30 noon, the bell will ring to tell the time with music, which can be said to be the spiritual symbol of the Renaissance in Strasbourg.Strasbourg · 271m from downtown

Petite-France is located in the southwest of the old town of Strasbourg, France, and is one of the city's representative historical districts, as well as an important part of the Grande Île historical center of Strasbourg. The district is renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture, winding canals, and unique Alsatian style, showcasing the cityscape formed by the long-term blend of French and German culture. It was once home to fishermen, millers, and tanners. Today, the district still retains many traditional half-timbered houses from the 16th and 17th centuries, with soft-colored exterior walls, steep roofs, and clearly visible windows and timber-framed structures. The houses are distributed along the Ill River and its tributaries, where the canals, stone bridges, and historical buildings complement each other, creating a distinctive waterside view.Strasbourg · 520m from downtown

This is a cross-border garden on the border between Germany and France, a symbol of the friendship between France and Germany. Its prototype is an old racecourse in France in the 20th century. The idea of a cross-border park was proposed earlier in 1995 and was jointly constructed by the two countries. The current Transfrontier Park covers an area of 150 hectares along the Rhine. The important meeting of the 2009 NATO summit was held here. Usually, the park also hosts flower shows, concerts, dances and street performances. People from Germany and France can participate together. It is also a place for relaxation and family outings.Strasbourg · 4.2 km from downtown

The Big Island is Strasbourg's old town. Within this small area, numerous famous historical buildings are concentrated, including the main cathedral, four ancient churches, and Rohan Palace (the former residence of the bishops). The Big Island was once the city's old center, and its many ancient buildings still give it the feel of a medieval town. Today, it's filled with restaurants, cafes, and shops, and is very lively at night.Strasbourg · 166m from downtown

The Cathedral Notre-Dame de Strasbourg is a stunning example of Gothic architecture and a highlight of any visit to Alsace. Its towering, ornate facade, crafted from pink sandstone, changes color with the light throughout the day, creating a mesmerizing sight. Inside, the cathedral is filled with intricate stained-glass windows and a soaring nave that conveys a profound sense of awe. A unique feature is the astronomical clock, which draws crowds daily for its intricate display at noon. Visitors

Petite-France in Strasbourg, France, is a charming historic quarter that feels like stepping into a storybook. Famous for its half-timbered houses, narrow cobblestone streets, and scenic canals, it perfectly reflects the city’s Alsatian charm. Once home to millers and tanners, the district is now filled with cozy cafés, boutiques, and picturesque bridges. The area’s vibrant flowers, reflections on the water, and medieval architecture create an enchanting atmosphere year-round. Walking through Petite-France offers a blend of romance, history, and beauty at every corner. It’s a must-visit spot in Strasbourg, ideal for leisurely strolls, photography, and experiencing authentic French ambiance.

One of the best views of Strasbourg definitely belongs to Barrage Vauban with the standing three towers. The best view has to be from the air as always and the best route is above the dam opposite the towers right across. Take the stairs up to the second level and you will be able to see the whole picture. You will be able to view Cathedral Norte Dame from here as well. Be aware that the stairs will closed at 9pm during spring and summer seasons. This area happens to be the best sunset viewing platform as well.

Although Strasbourg has a high status in the Vatican, the Rohan Palace still seems too luxurious. This former bishop's palace can be compared with many top palaces, with one side facing the church and the other side facing the water.

The old town of Strasbourg, a core area that can be clearly seen on the map of the city, is surrounded by rivers and is full of historical buildings. The cathedral is located in the core area and staying in a hotel here is not expensive.

It is a very interesting place. It is beautiful, has a good atmosphere, and is easy to travel to. If you have the chance, you should visit here at least once. The houses are beautiful and the atmosphere is very shady.
