Reviews: Manatee Swim Tour

This was an amazing experience! Bre and Captain Steve were the absolute BEST! If you book this trip call and ask for this dynamic duo personally!
Bre not only was the best guide but she took tons of pictures/videos above and under water.
Our family will definitely be back!★

Reviews: Small Group Manatee Snorkel Tour with In-Water Guide and Photographer
Guest User2024-07-22
This was seriously one of the coolest experiences of my life!
I was in Florida for a work conference Mon-Wed and wanted to do something fun on Sunday. I was originally booked for Sunday afternoon, but the Salty Siren staff called me on Saturday to see if I could move to the morning tour for better weather, visibility, tide level, and overall experience. I am so glad they took the time to do this. Although it involved some crazy travel logistics to get there by 8:00 AM from another state, it was absolutely worth the limited sleep.
Captain Jessica and Marissa (in-water guide & photographer) were AMAZING! There were only 5 people on our tour, which allowed for individualized attention and photo opportunities. We observed a much larger tour group doing all the wrong things, which we knew from the educational intro video we watched prior to getting on the boat. Salty Siren focuses on education and passive observation. Just float quietly near your guide, and the manatees will stay near you for a really long time. I think we spent over an hour with a mama and baby manatee, watching them feed. We even got to see the baby nursing.
The water in some of the areas is a little murky right now because of an invasive algae, but you can still see the manatees well. If you just be calm and still, they come right up to you. After we interacted with the manatees, Jessica and Marissa took us to a nearby spring with much clearer water, which allowed for some fun photos for each tour participant. I would recommend this company and tour experience to anyone who is at least minimally comfortable in the water. You hang on to a pool noodle the entire time, and you only need to know how to doggy-paddle to move around...hands only, no kicking so as not to scare the manatees. I had never snorkeled before, and it was very easy to learn.
At the end of our adventure, we were served our choice of coffee, hot chocolate, Manatee Mocha, etc. Then we returned to the office where we immediately got to view the photos and videos to decide if we wanted to purchase them (about $40 gets you access to all the pics and videos from your tour).★

amazing experience.
The team was super nice and pleasant.
in the water Jade helped to guide and ensure a good experience and on the boat the captain was good at explaining and keeping an overview.
can definitely recommend this tour with Gulf Coast experience.
++ They care about animal welfare.
Big thumbs up to the team for this experience, 5 stars is not enough.★

Reviews: Crystal River: Manatee Swim Group Tour

The entire tour is brilliantly organized, there's parking right in front of the house, and the whole team is incredibly friendly and helpful. Gavin and the entire crew gave us an unforgettable experience today. We were able to observe a mother mantee with her baby and saw turtles, alligators, pelicans, and ibises. The equipment is modern and in excellent condition. We felt very well taken care of. Bring some cash; there are some great items in the shop.★

Reviews: Crystal River: Semi-Private Manatee Swim With Heated Boat
Guest User2026-10-17
Incredible experience. Myself and kids aged 11 and 14, were the only ones on the tour that day (end of July). This is a time of year where it takes some effort by good guides to find the manatee/swim with them. We had those guides! Jae and TJ were amazing, and you could tell that they loved their jobs, cared for the animals and surroundings and were invested in creating a great experience. They knew where to go, before any of the other guides, and we had a great time swimming with manatee. Not only the best trip we did on our vacation, but one of our best experiences of all time - almost spiritual, and Jae and TJ were a huge part of making the trip special. Attention to comfort on the boat, was also top notch. I would definitely recommend this trip.
