Zhuqiao Ancient Village is a famous historical and cultural village in China. It is the birthplace and main printing place of "Jinxi Book". There are 2 woodblock printing workshops preserved in the village, and there are many ancient woodblocks. The complete woodblocks of "Three Character Classic", "Hundred Family Names" and "Four Books Annotation" are preserved, which can still be directly printed and bound in thread-bound ancient books, which are very valuable. There are 109 ancient buildings in the village, including ancestral halls, academies, woodblock printing workshops, study rooms and houses of officials who returned to their hometowns. There are 5 ancestral halls, 4 gatehouses, 3 ancient wells, 2 ancient woodblock printing workshops, and 1 "Heaven and Man" road in the village, which is rare in China and implies the concept of "harmony between man and nature" and "people-oriented"; there are 7 ponds, and the middle pond is in the shape of a moon, forming the image of "seven stars accompanying the moon", reflecting the unique pond culture of Zhuqiao. In Zhuqiao, you can experience a journey across time and space. Villagers dressed in ancient costumes recreate scenes of pastoral songs, the return of the top scholar, big bowl tea, woodblock printing, etc. in the ancient alleys and buildings during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Walking in the stone alleys of the ancient village, you can see villagers drinking tea and listening to opera, drinking and playing chess, or hawking goods along the street. There are also tea bars, book bars, blacksmith shops, shops, tofu shops, etc. full of ancient charm.Jinxi · 8 km from downtown

Mount Longhu

Mount Longhu Scenic Area is located on the outskirts of Yingtan City and is the birthplace of Taoism. Its founder Zhang Daoling once cultivated and attained enlightenment here. The appearance of Mount Longhu Scenic Area is similar to Wuyishan, both featuring typical Danxia landforms and a World Natural Heritage site. Riding a bamboo raft on the Luxi River to enjoy the mountain views on both banks is fantastic, and the cliff tombs of the ancient Yue people hanging coffins and coffin climbing performances are also very eye-catching highlights. The main attractions are distributed along both banks of the Luxi River from north to south, in order Elephant Trunk Mountain - Xianshui Rock - Mosquito Village - Mount Longhu - Zhengyi Temple - Shangqing Ancient Town (Shangqing Palace). If you want to stay tight, you can visit the main attractions in one day, or split it into two days for a detailed tour. The scenic area operates on a flat ticket system (each attraction can be visited once). Usually, you buy a full ticket, which includes sightseeing bus and rafting (or boat) fees, which is quite cost-effective. The sightseeing bus stops at a wave and can be used multiple times. If you need to stay here, accommodations are available in Yingtan city as well as near the tourist center, Xianshuiyan, Shangqing Ancient Town, and Jiuquzhou, but usually the base is near the visitor center. When visiting Mount Longhu Scenic Area, you can travel by sightseeing bus, walking, or rafting. For a day of sightseeing at the main attractions, you can take a sightseeing bus from the visitor center to Mount Longhu - Zhengyi Temple, then transfer to the farthest Shangqing Ancient Town (about 10 kilometers), and from there, travel backward to the starting point. Most houses in the ancient town are newly built. You can first visit Changqing Ward, then stroll along Shangqing Ancient Street. The town's highlights include the Celestial Master's Mansion and Shangqing Palace. The Celestial Master's Mansion is the ancestral home of the Zhengyi Sect, and most of the existing wooden buildings are antiques from the Qing Dynasty. Shangqing Palace is still a few kilometers away, with fewer tourists. If you don't want to wait for sightseeing buses, you can take a taxi ride there. Have lunch in the ancient town, then take a bus back to Mount Longhu - Zhengyi Temple. The temple here is slightly smaller than the Celestial Master's Mansion and was rebuilt in recent decades, so it's relatively new. It's worth a quick look. From Mount Longhu to Zhengyi View, walk another 5 minutes to the starting point of the rafting, and from here to the finish point at Xianshuiyan, the whole journey takes about 50 minutes. Along the way, you can enjoy mountain views on both banks. The boatmen will tell you legends about the Supreme Lord Laozi and the Queen Mother of the West, but this will cost extra. The famous "Ten Must-Haves" Danxia Stone Scenery can be seen in about three places in this section. The cliff tombs and hanging coffins at Xianshuiyan are full of mystery. The scenic area regularly stages a "coffin lifting" performance every day (10:00-16:00, every 2 hours for reference), demonstrating the process of securing coffins into caves on the cliff. Visitors watch from the Peach Blossom Islet shore, the final stop of Xianshuiyan on Mount Longhu, while the performance takes place on the opposite cliff, making it quite thrilling. Because "lifting the coffin" sounds like "promotion," some people come here to seek good luck. Bamboo rafts are parked on the water, and about 10 minutes before the coffin-raising performance, there is a "cormorant fishing" show showcasing the fishing and hunting lifestyle of the ancient Yue people. After watching the performance, take the free ferry to the opposite bank, then follow the signs to Fairy Rock. This rock, known as the "Mother Earth," is a famous spot in the Mount Longhu Scenic Area, vivid and lifelike. Not far from the Xianshui Rock terminal at Mount Longhu—Peach Blossom Islet—is the south gate of Elephant Trunk Hill. Halfway up the mountain, there is a smooth boardwalk where you can admire the mountain's silhouette from different angles as you walk. This Elephant Trunk Hill is much more rugged than the one in Guilin, with a straight trunk that looks very lifelike. It takes about one hour to walk along the boardwalk to the East Gate. The last attraction is the mosquito-free village, which can be reached by sightseeing bus. The scenery of Wuwen Village itself is average; most people come here to fill their stomachs. The village has two famous dishes: Celestial Master Tofu and Celestial Master Bagua Banquet, both vegetarian. It can be used for dinner. If you arrive at Mount Longhu Scenic Area in the afternoon, it's recommended to first visit Shangqing Ancient Town, then go to Mount Longhu - Zhengyi early the next morning to enjoy the rafting (there's almost no need to queue at this time), then go ashore to visit Elephant Trunk Hill to watch the coffin-raising performance and Fairy Rock. Afterwards, walk along the Luxi River to Wuwen Village for lunch. Nearby attractions like the Ancient Yue Folk Village are also worth seeing, allowing you to slowly enjoy the scenery of Mount Longhu Scenic Area.Guixi · 29.4 km from Jinxi

Youdian Ancient Village is located in Heshi Town, Jinxi County—one of the ten most culturally significant ancient counties in Jiangxi Province—just 8 km from the county seat. The village currently features 38 ancient houses, most of which date back to the mid-to-late Ming Dynasty. A distinctive feature is the archway erected at the entrance of every alleyway, which records the lifelong achievements and official titles of the ancestor Hu Guifang (a jinshi scholar and renowned official during the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty, and an in-law of the playwright Tang Xianzu). These archways serve to highlight the glory of the Hu family and inspire future generations to take their ancestor as a role model, strive for success, and serve the country. The village was included in the fourth batch of Traditional Chinese Villages in 2016 and selected as one of the seventh batch of Famous Historical and Cultural Villages of China in 2019.Jinxi · 5.9 km from downtown

Tianshifu covers a vast area, and there are many houses. The pavilions are decorated with some splendid features and there are countless winding corridors. The house creates a quiet environment and the scenery is graceful. It not only retains the traditional Chinese government specifications, but also has some characteristics of the feudalism of the era and it maintains a distinct Taoist style layout. Every year, the Dragon and Tiger Mountain Taoist Culture Festival is held here, and visitors can watch Taoist Ceremony performances.Guixi · 31 km from Jinxi

Mount Huangshan is famous for its long history. "You would not want to visit mountains after visiting the Five Sacred Mountains, and you would not want to visit the Five Sacred Mountains after visiting Huangshan." Xu Xiake, a great traveler and geographer of the Ming Dynasty, twice ascended Huangshan to witness its magnificence, exclaiming it as "a wonder in life." Dramatic Pines, grotesque rocks, sea of clouds, and hot springs are known as the “Four Musts” of Huangshan. They are the uncanny workmanship of nature and cannot be missed. In addition, the haze, snow scene, and sunrise are unique landscapes of Huangshan. Each landscape has its unique beauty and makes you feel like you are in a fairyland.China · Huangshan City

Vagoo is located in Wangxian Township, Guangxin District, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province. It is a national AAAA-level scenic spot. It belongs to the Lingshan Mountains, just at the foot of the seventy-two peaks of Lingshan. The valley is remote and quiet, the stream is jubilant, and the pebbles are flying waterfalls. There are rammed earth walls, bluestone roads, yellow walls and black tiles, and original village houses unique to Jiangxi folk houses; there are also pines and bamboo seas and the unique Ganjia market. In the Vagoo, you can enjoy the folk customs, landscape and humanities of the Gan family, experience the long farming culture of our country, taste delicious food, and live a slow life for a few days. Huangling Ancient Village is a typical mountain village, Souvenir by thousands of ancient trees and tens of thousands of acres of terraced fields, creating a idyllic mountain life like a paradise. It has a beautiful natural environment and rich history and culture. It is a famous historical and cultural village in ancient Huizhou. The ancient village of Huangling hangs on the cliff, and the ground is not flat for three feet. For hundreds of years, the villagers have been accustomed to "communicating" with the rugged terrain with a peaceful mentality, painting a picture of "people drying their crops in the sun in autumn". In March, rapeflowers are in full bloom on tens of thousands of acres of terraced fields in Huangling, dotted with pink peach blossoms and snow-white pear blossoms, forming a beautiful ink painting. Here, you can become one with nature and have close contact with the sea of flowers. At the end of March, the second phase of Huangrapeling Gaoling Terraced Fields Flower Sea came online. Due to the large altitude difference, low temperature, and late-maturing rapeseed varieties, the flowering period is relatively late, and the second phase of the flower sea can last until mid-April. Come to Huangling in summer and start a wonderful summer night trip. Take a look at the night view of the ancient village, feel the sunset glow of Huangling, the lights of thousands of houses, walk on the country road with the dancing and circling 100-meter-long dragon, stroll in the quaint streets with a lantern, feel the romance of the magic forest, watch a retro old movie at the entrance of the village, and visit the cool market in the countryside. As soon as the beginning of autumn arrives, the ancient village of Huangling becomes a drying field. Come to the people who dry autumn leaves to admire the red maple leaves, enjoy the autumn leaves drying on the roof, the maple forest is dyed red, experience the folk customs, hand-cranked windmills, pumpkin traps, etc., and feel the nostalgic charm of the people who dry autumn leaves. In winter, every household in Huangling is busy drying and processing traditional local specialties for New Year's goods. The roofs are full of preserved meat customs, "drying" folk customs and "celebrating" the harvest, which means a bumper harvest in the New Year. With the arrival of the Winter Solstice, the Huangling Folk Culture Festival begins and lasts until the Lantern Festival next year. Here, you can listen to operas, visit the market, taste food, and taste the folk customs of the New Year; bask in the warm sun, cook tea around the stove, enjoy the elegant winter things, invite family and friends to take a health-preserving warm soup, and enjoy a winter-limited snow scene. In Huangling, you can enjoy the beautiful rural scenery and experience the modern urban life. You can see the exquisite and simple Huizhou century-old houses as well as the fashion and elegance of star-rated hotels. In Huangling, tourists can not only taste authentic folk snacks such as steamed cakes, Qingming fruit, gray juice fruit, etc., but also participate in the whole process of making folk snacks and handicrafts.China · Wuyuan

Shangqing Ancient Town is a millennium-old town famous for its Taoist culture and Gan-style old houses. It is built along the Luxi River, and the old street running through the town is paved almost entirely with cobblestones from the river, polished smooth and shiny by footsteps over the years, with some even arranged into Tai Chi patterns, a highly recognizable detail of this place. Between the Gan-style residences with blue bricks and dark tiles on both sides of the old street, the Changqing Ancestral Hall, Liuhou Ancestral Temple, Tianshi Mansion, Liuhou Mansion, Tianyuande Pharmacy, and the Catholic Church are lined up in sequence. On the riverside, rows of stilt houses and boat piers line the Luxi River, still retaining the atmosphere of a former water transport hub. Guizhou Village on the opposite bank is the hometown of Xia Yan, an important official of the Ming Dynasty, and to the east of the town are Taoist temples such as the Shangqing Palace and Dongyue Palace. The architecture here is closely connected with the streets, alleys, and the river, creating a strong atmosphere of a historic town.Guixi · 31.1 km from Jinxi

The scenery is beautiful and it is a representative of Gan-style architecture. Entering the bamboo bridge is like traveling back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The ponds, houses, ancestral halls and stone roads here are like scrolls of paintings. Wherever you go, you walk into that scroll. People are in the paintings, and history flows in their minds. The artistic conception is perfect.

"The Ancestral Home of Taoism"—this is the epitome of Longhu Mountain's prestige! The Zhengyi Temple, Tianshi Mansion, and Taishangqing Palace within the scenic area are all revered sites of Taoism. Longhu Mountain is also one of the 72 blessed lands of Taoism. A bamboo raft trip down the Shunlu River offers stunning views and the opportunity to see hanging coffins.

Full of Dutch flavor. You can feel the strong Dutch style without traveling far to Europe. The unique creative exhibition also has rice of various colors. Not many people. It is relatively deserted. It is suitable for budget travel or those who like quiet play.

It's about half an hour from downtown Fuzhou, very convenient. Located near Linggu Peak, the area has beautiful greenery. There are many small animals there, such as pigs, yaks, and tuna. There are also animal shows and opportunities to feed the animals. There's also a water park (you need to bring a swimsuit to swim). It's usually not crowded, making it suitable for a short trip.

Huangshan Mountain boasts beautiful scenery, and taking the cable car up and down is not tiring. The difference between viewing the West Sea Grand Canyon from above and walking down is significant. Those with limited physical fitness don't need to go all the way down; just walking a few steps is sufficient.

It's worth a visit. Although it's a small, undeveloped scenic area, the natural scenery is still beautiful and perfect for taking photos. The lights are quite lovely at night. The area is large, and going up and down the mountain requires some physical exertion.

The autumn harvest display is indeed very unique, and the free parking, which reduces illegal parking, is a big plus. You can go inside almost every building to take photos. I recommend going during the off-season; accommodation is cheaper and there are fewer people. The overall tourist experience is much better. It's much better than Zhaoji Ancient Village.
