Yueshan Village

Yueshan Village is located 57 kilometers southeast of Qingyuan County. The mountain behind Yueshan Village is shaped like a half moon, and the stream in front of the village is like a silver hook. Yueshan Village is surrounded by green mountains, and the water is stagnant. There are ten ancient covered bridges on the Juxi about one kilometer from the beginning to the end of the village, and the interval between each bridge is only 20 to 30 meters, so it has the reputation of "Ten Bridges in Two Miles", including cultural relics protection units such as Dragon Bridge. Yueshan Village has "Eight Sceneries of Lifting Streams", as well as many unique sights such as the ice mortar spectacle, Wu Wen Jian Temple, the King of Cedar Trees, and the Mandarin Duck Well. Ice mortar wonders: In the valley area of Houkeng Village adjacent to Yueshan Village, there are many stone caves with strange shapes, shaped like stone mortars used for pounding rice. Like a bathtub, the villagers like to take a bath here, commonly known as a "natural bath". In 2005, it was confirmed by Professor Han Tonglin of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, an authority on ice mortar research, that it is the remains of a Quaternary glacier, and the scientific name is "ice mortar".Qingyuan · 18.3 km from downtown

Wuyishan National Park is located in the northern section of the Wuyishan mountain range in northwestern Fujian, stretching across the border area between Fujian and Jiangxi provinces. It is one of China's first established national parks, and Wuyishan itself was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for both culture and nature as early as 1999. The park was formed by integrating the former Wuyishan National Nature Reserve and Wuyishan Scenic Area: the Tongmu area in the north focuses on ecological conservation and scientific research, preserving a rare intact mid-subtropical forest ecosystem at this latitude. The main peak of the Wuyishan range, Mount Huanggang, is also located here, and this core area does not offer regular tourism activities. Sightseeing activities are concentrated in the scenic areas along both banks of the Nine-bend Stream, namely the four major sections: Tianyou Peak to Taoyuan Cave, Nine-bend Stream to Wuyi Palace, One-line Sky to Tiger Roaring Rock, and Dahongpao to Water Curtain Cave. The attractions in the scenic area are relatively scattered with considerable distance between them. A leisurely visit typically requires two to three days. If you only have one day, start by ascending Tianyou Peak for a panoramic view of the emerald waters and crimson mountains along the Nine-bend Stream, then take a bamboo raft downstream from Xingcun Wharf. Along the way, you'll pass landmarks like Jade Maiden Peak, Great King Peak, cliff inscriptions, and suspended boat coffins. The rafting journey ends at Wuyi Palace, making it an ideal classic route. Tea enthusiasts may prefer spending time on the leisurely Rock Bone Floral Trail between Dahongpao and Water Curtain Cave. This gentle path connects core Wuyi rock tea production areas like Liuxiangjian and Huiyuankeng, offering a uniquely fragrant experience. With two days, you can cover all four major sections. For more time, consider visiting the ancient tea merchants' residences in Xiamei Village, the starting point of the ancient Tea Horse Road, or exploring the ruins of the Minyue King's City near Chengcun Village—the latter also being part of Wuyishan's world heritage site. Bamboo rafting is very popular, so please make arrangements in advance during peak season. To get close to the ecological heart of the park, you can take the Wuyishan National Park No. 1 scenic route. Places like Moon Bay and Qinglong Waterfall are suitable for self-drive or private charter. As for food, street snacks like flat meat dumplings and Vietnamese noodles are common, while Langu smoked goose and local dishes cooked with alpine bamboo shoots and mushrooms are also worth trying.China · Wuyishan

The ancient city of Huizhou is located in Shexian County.LianjiangNorth Bank, originally built in the Qin Dynasty, became the seat of the ancient Huizhou Prefecture after the Tang Dynasty. Tang Xianzu's line, "My life's most cherished dream, yet I never dreamt of Huizhou," has captivated countless hearts. The city gates, archways, and the unique prefectural government offices still allow visitors to experience the ancient charm.Huizhou PrefectureThe legacy of the past. There are several roads leading into the ancient city, and it doesn't really matter which road you choose. The ancient city isn't very big; you can visit all the main attractions by walking around. It's near Renhe Tower in the north.Huiyuan GardenTicket offices are available at both the Nanqiao Tower and the Duojingyuan visitors Center outside the southern barbican. Among the several city gates of Huizhou Ancient City, the Nanqiao Tower is quite unique, with 13 pairs of pillars forming the gate frame, arranged in a row inside the gate opening to support the tower. It is said that this "row of pillars" is the authentic city gate style of the Northern Song Dynasty. The Xu Guo Stone Archway, located inside the East Watchtower (Yanghe Gate), is the essence of the entire ancient city, built in the twelfth year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1584 AD). The archway has eight pillars, with a cross-section shaped like the Chinese character "口" (kou), creating a three-dimensional structure. Both the four exterior and four interior sides can be viewed. Twelve stone lions guard the base of the pillars, and the upper part features exquisite stone carvings. Currently, this is the only ancient archway of its kind, highlighting the distinguished status of its owner, Xu Guo, a veteran of three reigns. Many attractions in the ancient city radiate from the Xu Guo Stone Archway. To the west, you can visit the Huizhou Prefectural Government Office, a modern reconstruction modeled after the Ming Dynasty government office; to the east, you can visit the memorial hall of Tao Xingzhi, a native of Shexian County; and to the north, you can visit...Huiyuan Garden, butHuiyuan GardenThe area is filled with antique-style buildings. Doushan Street, located in the northeast of the ancient city, brings together Hui-style ancient residences, archways, and ancient wells. However, it offers a truly unexpected surprise to visitors who get close: each layer of the outer pagoda has colorful murals, which have become blurred over the years and cannot be seen from a distance. The last attraction, Yuliang Scenic attraction, is located 2 kilometers east of the ancient city. The entrance is at...LianjiangThe north bank is the only way to get back to the north bank after visiting Changqing Temple Pagoda; if you're coming from the south bank, you'll need to cross Taiping Bridge again.Yuliang DamYou have to go around to Ziyang Bridge to cross the river. Residents still live on Yuliang Old Street on the north bank, and as always, they hang their bedsheets to dry in front of the ancient buildings; time seems to stand still here. "Three Lanes and Seven Alleys" is located in the heart of Fuzhou, collectively referring to ten historic lanes and alleys lining both sides of Nanhou Street from north to south. The "three lanes" are: Shuixie Stage, Wenru Lane, and Guanglu Lane. The "seven alleys" are: Yangqiao Alley, Langguan Alley, Anmin Alley, Huang Alley, Ta Alley, Gong Alley, and Jibi Alley. "Who would have thought the recluse of Five Willows and Lone Pine would dwell amidst Three Lanes and Seven Alleys?" This entire ancient residential quarter, first built during the Ming Dynasty, has been remarkably preserved through centuries of history spanning both Ming and Qing dynasties. The neighborhood houses former residences of numerous historical figures and even features a folk culture museum. As the saying goes, to understand a city, you don't need to traverse every street—just stroll down one historic lane at a leisurely pace. It adopts the architectural concept of "bridge and museum in one". Its shape is majestic and majestic, and its color is concise, steady, simple and solemn. It looks like a single-hole wooden arch bridge standing between green mountains and clear waters. The use of bridge elements such as wind and rain panels, geometric windows, and caissons is in harmony with the overall style of classical architecture, focusing on both functional layout and the characteristics of Qingyuan Bridge. Yueshan Village is a place of great natural beauty and cultural prosperity. It has been famous for the "Eight Scenic Spots of Juxi" since ancient times, and each scenic spot has an elegant and beautiful name. Yueshan Village is surrounded by green mountains and the Ju River ripples. There are ten ancient covered bridges on the Ju River, which is about two miles from the beginning to the end of the village. The interval between each bridge is only 20 to 30 meters, so it has the reputation of "Ten Bridges in Two Miles". The original intention of the builders of such densely distributed bridges was not simply to facilitate transportation, but to design and build them as landscape bridges. The beautiful covered bridges and the surrounding landscapes form a tranquil and self-sufficient picture scroll. The pastoral songs, Zen temple bells and drums, small bridges and flowing water, and curling smoke are clearly a paradise. In addition to the "Eight Scenic Spots of Juxi" and "Ten Bridges in Two Miles", Yueshan Village also has many scattered scenes, such as the wonders of Bingjiu, Wu Wenjian Temple, and the King of Cedar Trees, etc. Choosing to travel to Yueshan does not necessarily require sunny and windy weather. Windy and rainy weather is better, and the scenery is more beautiful when surrounded by clouds and mist. In recent years, thanks to the strong support of the government, a large number of homestays and farmhouses have emerged, which have facilitated tourists and helped more villagers get rid of poverty and become rich. There are many small restaurants next to the bridge head of the auditorium. The charges are not high. You can eat some farmhouse dishes and drink some local rice wine. Choose Qifeng Home near Laifeng Bridge for accommodation. You can watch the covered bridge right in front of the window and breathe the air blowing from the covered bridge.

The 68-nautical-mile scenic area is well worth a visit. It's the closest point between mainland China and Taiwan. Be careful not to cross the yellow lines marked in the scenic area, as it can be dangerous. The staff are very responsible and will blow whistles to warn you if you cross the yellow lines. It's a great place for taking photos, and it's not too hot to walk around in the scenic area right now.

Daji Village is an ancient village with rich cultural heritage. It has produced 26 Jinshi and more than 100 people who entered official careers. The mother of Li Gang, a famous prime minister in the Song Dynasty, and Wen Tianxiang were both from Daji. Such achievements in imperial examinations can be said to be brilliant. The Shuangmen Bridge in the village is named after the meaning of "Shuangmen Jinshi" to inspire future generations to make progress.

Qingyuan County is located at the junction of Zhejiang and Fujian. It has beautiful mountains and rivers and a pleasant climate. It is the county with the most and most concentrated ancient covered bridges in my country. It is known as the natural museum of ancient covered bridges and the hometown of covered bridges. The longest-lived Rulong Bridge in the country, the longest single-hole covered bridge Huangshui Chang Bridge, the largest single-hole span Lanxi Bridge, the earliest Shuangmen Bridge and Futian Bridge with historical records, and the longest wooden arch covered bridge Mengzhou Bridge in the country are all in Qingyuan County. Qingyuan Covered Bridge Museum was officially opened on December 2, 2011. With the theme of covered bridges, it interprets the culture of covered bridges from the aspects of history, skills, nature, humanities, and protection. It integrates collection, display, education and research, and is of great significance to the integration, innovation and improvement of the traditional culture of covered bridges. After completion, the covered bridge museum will better create the golden business card of China's covered bridge hometown, become a new landscape highlight of the city, become an important place to preserve the traditional skills and cultural memory of wooden arch covered bridges, and become one of the important windows for external publicity and display of comprehensive image.
