Barcelona 🇪🇸 Barcelona was a little bit of everything. It was sunshine and colour, wandering through the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter, getting lost amongst the old stone buildings, balconies and hidden little corners. It was sitting down for tapas and paella, trying new foods, discovering beautiful pastries and finding those places you never would have found if everything had been planned. It was Gaudí’s Barcelona — buildings that almost seemed alive, with curves, colours and shapes that made you stop and wonder how someone could have imagined them. From the incredible detail of Casa Batlló and La Pedrera to the sheer scale of the Sagrada Família, the city felt like walking through somebody else’s imagination. It was looking out across the city from above, seeing Barcelona stretch all the way towards the Mediterranean, and realising just how enormous and beautiful the place actually is. But Barcelona wasn’t just the postcard moments. Then came the rain. Not a little drizzle — Barcelona absolutely opened the heavens. 🌧️ The streets became mirrors, people ran for shelter, scooters carried on through the downpour and the Sagrada Família disappeared beneath a dramatic grey sky. Somehow, it made everything feel even more cinematic. There were the little moments too — late-night drinks in atmospheric bars, crowded streets, spontaneous photographs, quiet walks through old alleyways and simply having nowhere particular to be. And maybe that’s what I’ll remember most. It wasn’t the perfect weather or a perfectly planned trip. It was the contrasts — warm streets and cold rain, ancient architecture and modern life, busy crowds and quiet corners, sunshine and storm clouds. Looking back through the photos, what stands out isn’t really the famous landmarks. It’s the feeling of being somewhere new, wandering without knowing exactly what you’ll find next, and collecting little moments along the way. Barcelona was colourful, chaotic, beautiful, strange, delicious, rainy, sunny and completely alive. A few days, a thousand little moments, and a city I’ll definitely leave a little piece of myself in. 🇪🇸❤️
