Every fall at Beijing's Xiangshan Park, the smoke tree leaves all over the mountains turn as red as fire, and after the frost, they turn a deep purplish-red. These smoke trees were planted during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. After more than 200 years of growth, they have gradually formed a forest area with 94,000 smoke trees.
