Great apartment. Everything you need is there already, like soap, toothbrush, toilet paper etc, but there is also everything you need to do some simple cooking- very useful! The location was perfect, a 10 minute walk to taxi drop off (the whole town is pedestrianised) and about 5 minutes to Simatai Great Wall ticket entrance and the entrance to Gubei water town attraction. Good restaurants about 5 minutes away too and they are cheap. The apartment is cosy and there are 3 balconies to choose from if you want to relax in the sun! This would also be a very safe and comfortable place to stay with young children. I was very happy that the host also provided a lot of drinking water. It's useful to know that the apartment is inside a bigger apartment complex, just enter through the first gate as you approach from the town and maybe add the host on WeChat before you arrive so you can communicate easily. There are lots of small shops selling food and drinks nearby. The back balcony has a dreamy view of the Great Wall. Enjoy!

We booked this room just a day before the end of the year, perfectly coinciding with the Gubei Water Town offering free admission, so we stayed here for an overnight visit to the town. I'd seen a few negative reviews and was a bit apprehensive before checking in, but once I got to the room, it was completely beyond my expectations. The room felt great, far exceeding what I thought, especially since it was only 177 RMB after platform discounts (though the price quadrupled or quintupled for New Year's Eve the next day) – what more could you ask for? The room was spotless, and the bedding was very clean. It had everything: an induction cooker, fridge, microwave, and washing machine, making it perfectly suitable for a longer stay. They even provided an electric heater in case the AC wasn't warm enough in winter, so it was cozy and warm. The owner was also very welcoming and communicative, patiently answering all our questions beforehand and even helping us register our car plate so we could park conveniently in the residential compound where the B&B is located. It was incredibly convenient to stay here and visit Gubei Water Town. Extremely satisfied!

Oh dear, I came with high expectations to experience your establishment's ”Japanese Garden,” and what an eye-opener it was! The ”utterly faithful” recreation is simply astonishing – the serene dry landscape and exquisite stone lanterns pictured in the photos were, in reality, just a few weathered, broken chairs standing forlornly, embodying a profound ”wabi-sabi” aesthetic! Ah, this minimalist beauty, I finally understand; it's simply that we common folk lack the refined taste to appreciate it.
The bathroom experience was even more ”Zen-like”! The showerhead delivered water in a mere trickle, and the hot water was exceedingly tardy, requiring guests to wait patiently with a devout heart. Craving a truly refreshing shower? Don't rush; this is the owner's meticulously designed ”slow living” segment, allowing you to contemplate life amidst the sound of dripping water. As for bottled mineral water? Oh, for a ”high-end” establishment like yours, advocating for environmental protection, bringing your own reusable water bottle is clearly the correct approach! Mosquitoes? Those are merely proof of the garden's ecological friendliness, a complimentary ”natural spa” – why spoil the fun by mentioning them?
The most ”splendid” part, however, was browsing the owner's replies! Wow! What a master of debate, churning out witty remarks one after another! Their attitude towards negative reviews was even tougher than our ”wabi-sabi” chairs! After reading the owner's eloquent responses, I instantly realized that low water pressure in the shower was no longer an issue, as the ”high-pressure” impact on one's psyche is far greater! This service attitude truly makes one feel ”at home” – specifically, making you eager to rush back home. The 300+ price tag was unremarkable, so I'll give it a 3-star rating, just to make a point.

Live in a very comfortable homestay! Last time I lived in Jingxinju, there was a restaurant downstairs, and it was very convenient to eat. This time, I brought the elderly to the Osmanthus building, which has a wide view and is very quiet at night!

Our stayed was great. Xiaowang was really helpful before and during our arrival through WeChat. They helped us with the passport and area registration through their phones, as our did not have Chinese characters keyboard. The apartment is clean, comfortable and really spacious. We got the cat theme apartment and the little ones really liked it. The only drawback is that is at the top of the road, thus an 8 min walk to the main road. From there is only 2 min to the entrance of Gubei town.

Absolutely recommended, Great host, room is vey close to the Gubei water town, Its not inside the water town, 2 minutes walk to the entrance. so you have to pay for the entrance, and also have to buy the ticket to the great wall. But still cheaper to do that way and room is greatly worth the price that we paid. Love to stay there again.
Tips : visit water town in the morning using the one day 1 time pass, go to the great wall before 2pm, come back to the water town 4:30pm, and roam around the town for couple of hours. Dont miss drone show, water fountain show, snd great performances by talented stunt crew. Be prepared to spend all day in great wall and Gubei town combined.

The boss is very enthusiastic. After traveling for many days, I felt very close to hearing his Beijing accent. Because we checked in late, he helped us put the hot spring water in advance and told us where to buy dinner and where to park. In short, he thought of everything for us. The room is warmly decorated and the children like it very much. There is a small courtyard and a terrace. At night, the drone show, the night view of the Great Wall, and the night view of the ancient town are all under your sight. In short, it is very worthwhile!

The room was very well furnished and fully equipped, and overall I was satisfied. However, the walk from Parking Lot 1 to the room was at least 1.3 kilometers, and there was no shuttle. This was quite disappointing for us, exhausted from climbing the Great Wall. The shuttle service cost 30 yuan per trip, but on the last day, they called to inform us that they couldn't help with our luggage, which was a real problem for families traveling with large luggage.

I spent 3 weekdays at MingTang LinShui Inn, right next to Gubei Water Town, and had a great stay. The host doesn’t speak English but was very kind, helpful, and welcoming throughout my visit.
The location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Gubei Water Town is within walking distance—while there's an entrance fee to explore the old quarter, the surrounding area is also peaceful and scenic, perfect for a relaxing stroll.
Just a note: weekends can get crowded, and there may be some noise from nearby night events. But on weekdays, it's quiet, calm, and truly a lovely escape. Highly recommend for a peaceful weekday getaway!

IItsTheSmallThingsTravelling with my son to see the Great Wall we found this neat little homestay. On arrival the host collected us at the scenic area gate (I was a little out of place as my son was not well). You are meant to get a Didi or taxi from here to the location - there were plenty asking for business! The host was more than welcoming, upgrading us to a mountain view room! She also asked if we needed any extras and checked in a few times while we spent a whole day resting for my son to get better, we had the most beautiful view of the mountain. At night a fire was lit in the downstairs lounge and we sat enjoyed that space with one of her family members. The bed in the room was super comfy and we had a projector screen to watch some shows (we found 2 in English). We ate breakfast and dinner at the homestay a few times, all were lovely and very filling and I was easily able to communicate food preferences. It was so nice to have a homecooked meal in a quieter space than a proper restuarant. The distance to the cableway area from the homestay is very short and only took about 10 minutes walking.

Ffapp7The hotel is located pretty much at the entrance of Gubei Watertown. It is not quite a hotel, it’s more like an airbnb.
We couldn’t find the front desk so we had to call to service. He picked us up where we were standing and walked us to the room. If you don’t speak Chinese you may try to use WeChat and chat with them.
The room was a 2 floors apartment, with a little balcony with view to the Great Wall. It is a pretty standard room.
Advice to bring your shampoo and soap, the products in the shower were smelling super bad.
Around the building there are some food options and also a little grocery store.

GGuest UserI came here with my friends and kids on the weekend. It was a very good stay. The apartment is very close to the scenic spot, just a few minutes' walk. If you drive, please contact us in advance. There is a parking space downstairs. The apartment belongs to Longhu Villa. The environment is very good. I booked two king-size rooms. The room is very large with a balcony. The balcony can see the night view of the Great Wall of Water and the drone show. It is super beautiful. You can take a walk in the community at night. There are restaurants and supermarkets outside the community. It is very convenient
