"The hotel's location is excellent, right in Sanfang Qixiang's Wenrufang, and it's a short walk from the museum car park opposite. It's pet-friendly and the rooms are large and very unique. Sanfang Qixiang is truly wonderful, very clean, with endless former residences to explore. It's close to the popular 'Love Tree' and dining is very convenient with many special restaurants nearby. Hotel near The Old Town of Zhangzhou,Zhangzhou
"I specifically brought my elderly parents to Zhangzhou Ancient City for a visit this time. Since they have mobility issues and need a wheelchair, I was worried about the inconvenience of travel and accommodation beforehand. I had been communicating with the hotel about various matters before our departure. To my surprise, our entire stay was exceptionally comfortable, and I genuinely give it a full five-star rating! The hotel's location is excellent, situated right in the heart of the ancient city. As soon as you step out, you're on the old streets and alleys, with all sorts of Minnan specialty foods and popular photo spots close by. It was incredibly convenient to explore with a wheelchair. While it was lively and bustling outside, the courtyard was serene and quiet. It's an authentic Minnan ancient house courtyard style, with an elegant and clean environment. The greenery was meticulously maintained, making for a beautiful and healing landscape. What touched me the most was the hotel's thoughtful consideration for guests with mobility challenges. The accessibility features were very well-implemented. The courtyard pathways were flat and smooth, with no steep inclines, making it effortless to push a wheelchair in and out. The corridors were wide and open, allowing for easy and stable passage. When the front desk staff saw us with our elderly parents in a wheelchair, they immediately came over to offer assistance. They were enthusiastic and meticulous throughout, with a warm and polite attitude. During check-in, they prioritized a low-floor room on the first floor for us, avoiding stairs and complex routes, which greatly facilitated the seniors' movement. The room was spacious and airy, spotlessly clean, with soft and clean bedding. The mattress was neither too soft nor too firm, making it exceptionally comfortable for my parents to rest. My family all said they slept very well. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the floor was anti-slip, with every detail considering the safety of the elderly. The hotel's service was so meticulous it was heartwarming. Knowing my parents had difficulty walking, the staff proactively slowed down their speech, patiently asked about their physical condition, and repeatedly reminded them to be careful on the stone paths in the courtyard. Throughout our stay, any request we had was met with immediate and quick responses. They were very enthusiastic about helping deliver items and assisting my parents. When we returned from outings, they would always proactively offer warm tea, asking if my parents were tired from their journey. Their sincerity and genuineness were truly commendable. After a tiring day of sightseeing, the hotel's natural hot spring, with its comfortable and gentle water temperature, was a great relief. Soaking our feet after returning helped us relax significantly. The breakfast selection was rich yet light, catering to my parents' dietary preferences. The ingredients were fresh and healthy. When the staff heard we had high blood sugar, they specially prepared low-sugar meals for us. From the service details, their warmth was evident in every aspect. I initially thought traveling with elderly parents in a wheelchair would be problematic, but thanks to the comprehensive facilities and warm service at Xiyue Hotel, our entire experience was beautiful, clean, with human-centered facilities and warm, attentive service. Every aspect was impeccable, and it offered excellent value for money."

"This hotel is truly commendable and deserves a lot of praise. As a new hotel, the rooms were practically odorless. The breakfast was plentiful with fresh ingredients. The front desk lady was sweet and gentle, and the staff's service was attentive and thorough. They actively resolved any issues and tried their best to meet guests' needs. Special shout-out to Xiao Mi and Xiao Lin! Although the decor has a nightclub vibe, it's also high-end and chic. My only minor critique is that the lobby's air freshener scent was a bit too strong and gaudy; a more fresh and elegant fragrance would better reflect the hotel's taste and class."

"It was a little difficult to find the hotel at first, so I had to ask around for directions. The hotel is located in a shared building with office tenants (search for: Changjiang Securities as per in the first pic), so during peak hours, expect some waiting time for the lifts. The room was exceptionally clean and spotless, and the view was absolutely stunning, overlooking Kulangsu Island. Although the reception staff did not speak English, they were incredibly kind and went out of their way to help with my laundry. I simply dropped it off and collected it the next morning. Thank you for the excellent service and for going the extra mile to make my stay comfortable. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit!"

Founded in 1958, Lujiang Hotel is an iconic architectural landmark in Xiamen and one of the first three hotels in Xiamen established after the reform and opening-up. It has now been upgraded to a heritage-level experiential hotel that preserves the city’s culture and historical character. In 2025, the hotel completed its sixth renovation in strict accordance with cultural relic restoration standards. It carefully retained the vintage texture of the original floral tiles, complemented by elegant new patterns, creating a stunning fusion of old and new.As a prestigious historic hotel on Lu Island, it has hosted numerous Chinese and foreign dignitaries, business leaders and celebrities, including the former Queen of Denmark, Lee Kuan Yew, Anna Chan Chennault, and Angie Chiu, all of whom spoke highly of their experience. The renowned artist Mr. Liu Haisu personally inscribed the hotel with the words “A Home Away from Home”, a testament to its excellent reputation and profound heritage. As a landmark on the core section of Lujiang Road, the hotel encapsulates a century of elegance on both banks of the Lujiang River, blending Chinese and Western styles and harmonizing tradition with modernity. Every stay is more than accommodation; it is a journey through time. The hotel’s “Time Tunnel 1958” is a highlight. Within this compact space, the city’s memories are condensed. Stepping in, one can feel the heartbeat of Xiamen and touch stories that span decades.Guest rooms frame a panoramic view of Gulangyu Island. At dawn, the island’s scenery greets you the moment you open your eyes. Even from the bathroom, you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the blue sea and red-tiled roofs, integrating the seascape into every moment of your stay. The hotel also holds the classic reputation of “Dining at Lujiang”. Its 7th-floor viewing restaurant is a beloved choice for both locals and tourists, combining stunning sea views with exquisite cuisine, and consistently ranks highly on major review platforms. From carefully selected ingredients to refined cooking techniques, the hotel crafts flavors with meticulous attention to detail. Beyond satisfying hunger, it lets your taste buds discover the authentic tastes of Lujiang, shaped by time and refined across mountains and seas.

"I originally planned to book a traditional five-star hotel, but seeing that Lujiang Hotel was close to Zhongshan Road and had local character, I decided to give it a try. It exceeded my expectations and changed my perception of 'old' hotels. Lujiang Hotel blends modernity and tradition beautifully. The service was excellent. Every staff member greeted me, proactively opened and held doors when entering and exiting, helped with luggage, and opened car doors, among other things. Every evening, they delivered a healthy soup to my room. When I got blisters, they promptly brought iodine and bandages. The welcome fruit, mini-bar, and complimentary daily afternoon tea were all delightful. The location is superb. Due to the hot weather, I spontaneously changed my itinerary to focus on relaxing at the hotel and exploring local cuisine. Zhongshan Road, with its abundance of delicious food, is right next door – I definitely gained some weight! The view is stunning, with Gulangyu Island directly across. Lying in bed and enjoying the beautiful scenery, I truly wished time would slow down. The facilities are great; toiletries, hairdryers, etc., are all top-tier brands. Next time I visit Xiamen, I will definitely stay here again."

"My kids had been begging to stay at a hotel for ages. I was looking for a luxurious resort by the sea – no flying required – with a water park, a beach, and a kids' club for a few days. Then I stumbled upon this place! After checking out the facilities and reviews, it perfectly matched all my criteria. I booked a 3-night stay on a certain travel app, about half a month in advance. I was so worried about rain and checked the weather forecast daily. I specifically chose the only few rain-free days of the month, with temperatures over 30 degrees, perfect for swimming! You can never go wrong with a five-star hotel; an old Ferrari is still a Ferrari! There are absolutely no downsides. Initially, I was a bit nervous because some reviews mentioned the breakfast being very poor. However, the main building and the Water Garden have two separate buffet breakfast restaurants. When checking in, the front desk didn't know how long we'd have to wait for a room, so they upgraded us and even included a complimentary hotel afternoon tea! I was shocked to find we were upgraded to a poolside room in the Water Garden! This was a room type I wouldn't even dream of… so touching! However, staying in the main building and the Water Garden each has its advantages. The main building is super convenient for the kids' club and water park, including room service. The Water Garden doesn't have a kids' club, and its pool only has one slide. (But hotels with water features tend to be a bit humid overall; the bed always felt slightly damp, much like our plum rain season, and clothes took forever to dry, even though it was sunny). 1. The buffet breakfast was the best I've ever had. I've stayed in many high-end beach hotels both domestically and internationally, but this one offered fresh squeezed juices daily! I've never seen that before. And you could keep getting Eggs Benedict; the quality was like having a fancy brunch at a Western restaurant. You'll likely find everything you want! The hours were 7:00-10:30 AM, so you barely needed lunch. 2. Although you need to call a shuttle to get from the Water Garden to the main building, they're always responsive, and they even help deliver some takeout. The most memorable moment was one evening when I went to the lobby to buy Haagen-Dazs late at night. The lobby staff had to help scoop it. I bought three scoops, and one of the kids accidentally knocked over their ice cream. We were going to scoop off the top layer for ourselves and give the remaining one to the child, but the staff immediately scooped a fresh one! It was so touching! While there were a few individual staff members who weren't as good, overall, the service was fantastic! 3. The bed was incredibly comfortable to sleep on. Although I wasn't a fan of the pillows, the bed itself was truly comfortable! The 2-meter bed comfortably slept 2 small children and 1 adult. The hotel can also install bed rails, which were very effective! Unlike other family-friendly hotels I've stayed at where they easily loosen, these rails were great; no need to worry about the kids falling off at night. 4. The beach was a bit of a walk, quite far for small children, as you had to go through an underground tunnel with lots of stairs up and down, crossing the main Huan Dao Nan Road. You could exit directly from the hotel by swiping your card. On the way, we saw so many giant African snails – a new experience, I'd never seen them in real life before. 5. The kids' club was huge, and the activities were plentiful! You could genuinely just relax at the hotel; if you have young kids and don't want to venture out, this is the perfect choice! 6. Most importantly, there were so many of my beloved frangipani flowers here! Fresh frangipani often fell into the pool. I thought I'd only see frangipani again if I went to Thailand!!! But I found them here, which was so touching!!! There were also many fruit trees at the hotel; a wax apple tree was right by the lobby entrance, and I think I even saw a jackfruit tree while riding the little train around the grounds!!! The whole hotel made me feel like I was in Thailand… 7. The welcome fruits were not perfunctory and very fresh! The minibar was the most luxurious I've ever seen!!!!! The Xiamen beer was hohoho delicious~! You can always trust the experience of a five-star hotel! If you're also looking for a hotel to just relax and have fun with your kids, choose this one! I'd be happy to choose this hotel again next time I'm in Xiamen, especially if I could stay in a poolside room again, that would be pure joy, hahaha."

Nanping Colorful Village Homestay

This place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

1949 truly feels like an idyllic retreat, far from the city's hustle and bustle, yet brimming with local charm. It's conveniently located very close to the Tianluokeng Tulou Cluster (Four Dishes and One Soup). The front desk and service staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. We booked a family suite with a slide, which was an absolute hit with the kids! They played all evening, and there was constant laughter – it was truly delightful and excellent value for money. We had dinner at the hotel, and it was also fantastic – the chef truly puts thought into every dish. Breakfast by the stream, listening to the gentle babbling water and enjoying the crisp morning air, offered a truly unique and wonderful experience. Simply wonderful! 👍

The hotel environment is impeccable, with spacious public areas and beautiful birdsong and flowers. Perched on a hill, I was woken up every morning around 5 or 6 by the chirping of various birds. It's about a 15-minute walk to Xiamen University and Putuo Temple, though it's uphill and a bit tiring, but taxis are quite convenient. The room was also very large, with a bedroom offering a distant view of the rooftops of Xiamen University. All in-room facilities were well-equipped. While I wouldn't delve too deeply into the cleanliness details, it was acceptable, but the sound of water running from the rooms above or next door was particularly noisy. The service was excellent, with prompt responses to all requests! Overall, I was satisfied, with one exception: the breakfast was too basic. It felt like it cost less than five yuan to make, truly the most perfunctory breakfast I've ever had in decades of staying at hotels. We ended up ordering takeout for the kids for both days, so I don't think it's worth booking a rate that includes breakfast. I'd like to offer a suggestion to the hotel: with such a great location and environment, it should strive for perfection by putting more thought into improving the breakfast. For tourists, a hearty breakfast is truly important. If a buffet isn't feasible due to cost-cutting, at least the set menu could be more varied, instead of just offering a bowl of congee and one or two pre-made buns every day, which is quite unappetizing.

I had an amazing stay at this hostel! My private room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. But what really made the experience special was the great atmosphere. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making it easy to connect with other travelers. The common area downstairs is spacious, with a playful dog and cat roaming around, as well as games to enjoy. We ended up playing mahjong almost every night. The hostel also has a great location in the 1916 arts district, just a 15-minute walk from the old town. Highly recommended!

The room was absolutely stunning! The moment I opened the door, I knew the ocean view was worth every penny. You can definitely get some amazing photos right from your room. It's clear the owner has a great eye for design. The amenities in the room were also very comprehensive – even a Dyson hairdryer and facial tissues in the bathroom, which shows real attention to detail. We drove here, and parking was super convenient and free. The butler's service attitude was excellent too. And breakfast was quite tasty. I'll definitely book this place again next time I'm in Pingtan!

I stayed in a room on the second floor with a balcony, and I absolutely loved it. The bedding was comfortable, the room was elegant, and the mirror was fantastic. It was so relaxing and perfectly matched the experience I was looking for on this trip. This hotel is truly thoughtful.

To the Management and Team, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional hospitality I experienced during my stay at your hotel. From January 9th to 10th, I was warmly accommodated in Room 315 of the Lingbo Building, and I was truly impressed by the outstanding service provided by your staff. In particular, I wish to commend your front desk team for their professionalism, kindness, and efficiency. Their attentive and courteous approach made me feel genuinely welcomed and well cared for throughout my stay. I would also like to give special thanks to Mr. Zheng Ziheng from your Marketing Department. His genuine warmth, thoughtful assistance, and attentive hospitality went above and beyond my expectations. In him, I see the future of tourism in China—a future built on passionate, dedicated, and truly guest-centered professionals who not only meet but exceed the expectations of those they serve. It is clear that your hotel cultivates a culture of excellence, and I look forward to the opportunity to stay with you again.
