"Cleanliness: The room's desk had a lot of lint, and the hotel's indoor playground wasn't cleaned regularly. There were used tissues scattered on the floor, socks left behind by children, and mineral water bottles everywhere, some empty, some half-full. Service: The hotel staff had a good attitude. Doormen proactively opened doors for us getting in and out of cars and warned us that the lobby air conditioning was quite cold to prevent children from catching colds. The duty manager handled issues quickly. On the day we stayed, there was an event at the hotel, so the elevators were very busy, and some enthusiastic aunties repeatedly woke up my sleeping child. The hotel humanely extended our check-out by two hours, allowing my child to rest properly before we left. We stayed two nights in Shenyang. The previous night we stayed at the Huangchao Wanxin, which is also a five-star hotel, but the difference was quite significant."

"This hotel is super easy to find and incredibly convenient for getting around. The room was spotless, well-equipped, and the bedding was so soft, I slept like a baby. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the room. It's on a high floor with a great view. The front desk staff, Clara, Stone, Peter, and Vivan, all provided excellent and professional service. The other departments also maintained a high standard. The hotel's location is superb, making it easy to get around. It has comprehensive facilities, with a shopping mall right downstairs and close proximity to various attractions. It offers excellent value for money.

Fantastic! A two-bedroom apartment that both the elderly, kids, and my family absolutely loved! They thoughtfully upgraded us to a sea-view room. Downstairs, you can see the Venetian Water Town at night, and it's really quiet, with no mosquitoes. The bedding and air conditioning were all comfortable! A washing machine, sofa, and fridge were all included. We stayed for three days straight, and when we moved to another place afterward, there was a noticeable drop in quality – we really should have just stayed here the whole time! Highly recommend for families with children or elderly members!

Five-star recommendation! Our family stay at the Four Seasons Whale Island exceeded expectations; it's absolutely perfect for a family beach vacation. The hotel boasts an excellent location with its own private beach. You don't have to go far to let the kids dig in the sand and explore the shore, and if you're lucky, you might even spot some starfish. The little ones had an absolute blast. Amber Bay, with its larger expanse of sea perfect for wading and shell collecting, is just a short walk away, offering plenty of opportunities for beachcombing. The surrounding amenities are also top-notch, with authentic seafood restaurants serving delicious meals and trendy, Instagrammable cafes that are perfect for snapping great photos and relaxing. The rooms are very comfortable. Each is equipped with an extra-large bathtub, which is wonderfully relaxing after a day of playing by the sea. Just a friendly reminder: remember to close your doors and windows, as small insects can occasionally fly in. Overall, our stay was fantastic, though I have two small suggestions for improvement: Firstly, a mini-fridge in the room would be incredibly convenient, especially in summer for storing cold drinks, baby food, and fresh ingredients. Secondly, I hope the bedding maintenance can be enhanced in the future; some sheets and duvets weren't as pristine as they could be. Regular replacement and updates would further elevate the quality. All in all, this is a highly recommended resort in the Dalian Shicao area that we'd gladly return to. It's a top choice for family trips, and I recommend it to families looking for a peaceful seaside escape and easy beach exploration!

The hotel's location is excellent, right opposite Happy Beach Gate 4, and within walking distance of Discovery Kingdom. Upon check-in, the front desk upgraded us to a sea-view room, which I really appreciated. However, I can't give a good rating for a few reasons: 1. As soon as we got to the room, I called the front desk for children's slippers and toothbrushes. After waiting half an hour with no delivery, I ended up getting them from a housekeeping staff member in the hallway. 2. In the afternoon, I called the front desk for disposable cups. Again, after waiting half an hour, they still hadn't arrived. I had to call again to follow up before they finally sent a robot to deliver them. We then left the room, and when we returned in the evening, we found two disposable cups sitting on the floor outside our door! Isn't putting paper cups on the floor unhygienic? 3. The hotel advertises free sand-digging tools. We stayed for two nights, and every time we went to get tools, they were either unavailable or broken! 4. Our room on the fifth floor wasn't particularly noisy, but as soon as you stepped out of the elevator, the hallway had an odd smell that I couldn't quite place. The bedding also felt damp, making for an uncomfortable stay. For a Trip.com 5-diamond hotel with such a prime location, this was truly disappointing. It seems you really do get what you pay for!

The best hotel of our trip, absolutely loved it! The design is just incredible. **Location:** Since I was traveling with my 12-year-old, convenience to attractions was a key factor. I hadn't really researched it when booking, but after staying, I found it super convenient for getting to the nearby Forest Zoo (I'll write a separate guide for that later), Lotus Mountain, Haida Tunnel, Cross-sea Bridge, and Xinghai Square. **Environment:** Built on Lotus Mountain with unique architecture, so the views and scenery are unparalleled. **Facilities:** The room and amenities were all very complete. The only downside was that there was an event in the sky garden one night, so we couldn't enjoy the night view, but otherwise everything was great. **Pool:** I went for a swim every day. It was great for exercise and I could also use the steam room, which was very relaxing. **Gym:** Lots of equipment, but not many people actually working out – more guests were there for a holiday. **Shuttle service from the foot of the mountain:** Very convenient! Although the journey isn't far, it saved a lot of time and effort. There were always hotel guests waiting there. **Hotel photoshoot (3 retouched digital photos, requires 24-hour advance booking):** We did this on our last morning, and it was incredibly efficient! Started shooting at 9 AM, finished by 9:20 AM (we couldn't shoot outdoors due to the weather). We then waited 5-10 minutes to choose the photos. Every shot was beautiful, and I reluctantly paid extra for 10 more. **Breakfast:** Very extensive, and the specialty sea buns and 'dirty' buns were absolutely delicious! **To sum it up:** You get what you pay for!

I'd like to commend Yolanda at the front desk. She was incredibly warm and enthusiastic, even when I arrived very late, and patiently guided me through nearby attractions. The hotel is ideally located: only a 5-minute walk to the Caitang Night Market, and MixC Mall is within walking distance. Being in the city center, it's super convenient whether you're driving, taking the subway, or catching a taxi. The accommodation itself is outstanding. Formerly a Kempinski, Accor took over and renovated it, so the environment and facilities are all new and very comfortable. The TV allows screen casting, the bathroom has excellent water pressure, and the bedding is very cozy. Breakfast offers a fantastic variety, including many Northeastern specialties. They even have a version of 'Guo Bao Rou' (sweet and sour pork) made with ketchup, which is worth trying. Conclusion: Excellent value for money!

After a day of exploring, lying down allows for complete relaxation and washes away travel fatigue. The rooms are cleaned spotlessly, with great attention to hygiene details. The bathroom features a wet/dry separation, stable hot water supply, and high-quality toiletries. The room's soundproofing is excellent, making for a very quiet night undisturbed by outside noise. The hotel facilities are comprehensive. The indoor heated pool has clean water and a comfortable environment, and the gym is well-equipped. The buffet breakfast is a major highlight, with a rich variety of dishes, including both Chinese and Western cuisine. There are freshly made noodles, local specialties, fresh fruits, and various pastries and breads. The ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are excellent, satisfying different dietary preferences. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious and pleasant with a well-thought-out design. The location is convenient for accessing attractions like Venice Water Town, Zhongshan Square, and Dongguan Street. After a short walk, you can catch the Route 201 'Centennial Special' tram, which adds to the experience. There are also many local specialty restaurants nearby. Overall, everything else was excellent.

I stayed here in 2023 when it was still a Kempinski. The spa and bakery left a deep impression on me. Since 2026, it has rebranded to Pullman by Accor, without closing for renovations, so the facilities remain unchanged. This time in Dalian, I revisited the hotel. Having been open for over twenty years, the facilities are indeed quite old. The room has a lot of heavy wooden furnishings, which must have been a significant investment back then. Many of them are no longer very smooth to use, such as the wardrobe sliding doors and bathroom drawers. They are difficult to move, and any attempt to do so would require major renovation. This also applies to issues like only having a charging port on one side of the bed, which many guests complain about. Personally, I quite like this old-fashioned, substantial hotel decor style; it lacks the cheap feel of some newer high-end hotels. Old is fine, as long as it doesn't affect normal use. The faucet is a Danish brand, possibly a concept product more focused on styling. It has a strange push-button operation. Some are smooth, others are very stiff and difficult to use, making it hard to control water flow and potentially scratching hands. The bed and sofa are very comfortable. It took me a while to find the light switches in the room, only to realize they were on the central control panel – a small, inconspicuous box by the bedside. The service is still good. It's peak season now, but I was still able to check in at the regulated time. This time, I bought a package through Trip.com, which included breakfast for two and dinner at Paulaner. It was a great value. The front desk even upgraded me to a better room type in a separate building, the VIP building, which has less than ten rooms per floor. Regarding the food: The breakfast variety is decent. The menu listed omelets, so I asked the chef to make one, and it tasted good. For milk, there was hot whole milk and cold skim milk; cold whole milk would have been a nice addition. The bakery, no longer part of Kempinski, has changed its products. My favorite chocolate croissants are gone. I bought some sliced cakes, and they tasted good. Paulaner has an excellent environment with a great atmosphere and live performances. The service is also very attentive, and guests get a 25% discount. However, pizzas take a long time to prepare; I waited over an hour for mine. The spa and pool are still the same as before, with an exotic flair. Several hot tubs and my favorite steam bath were all open and functioning. The pool is deeper than usual, at 1.5-1.8m, and it wasn't crowded, making it very peaceful. My main suggestions are all regarding the facilities: 1. The wooden furnishings that are not smooth to use should be repaired. 2. Add a charging port to the other side of the bed. 3. Replace the strange faucets. 4. The two panels of the curtains should not be on a single track; they need to overlap to prevent a gap, otherwise, how can light be blocked effectively?

I called ahead to request a quiet room, and it was reserved for me. The room was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, the dining area was pleasant, and the complimentary coffee was delicious, served in really cute mugs. I'd definitely choose this hotel brand again in the future. Just a small suggestion: it would be better if the children's play area outside the restaurant was a bit further away, as some kids playing and shouting can impact the dining experience.
