Having a supermarket right across the street was super convenient for stocking up on supplies. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. It's very close to the coast, perfect for a leisurely walk. There are self-service laundry facilities available: detergent is 2 NZD, a washing machine cycle (50 minutes) is 4 NZD, and the dryer is also 4 NZD. It didn't seem heavily used and was spotless.
This is a small place, don't make too many demands. The hotel is a super historic hotel, things are relatively old, don't mess it up. The proprietress is also very friendly and tells you all the information. Of course, wifi does not work well. . I am the spark phone booth outside. Of course, if you change your mindset, look at the scenery more and use less Wi-Fi. Make dinner by yourself and cook everything. Opposite is the lake with nice scenery, it's good to go for a walk.
A pleasant few days in calm surroundings. Great ocean and sunset views. Staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival and eager to satisfy any requests throughout our stay. Accommodation was immaculately clean and well presented.
I think it's one of the best legit hotel in Franz Josef. Staff are so nice. I had to cancel 1 night of my stay, as my main activity (the glacier hike) got cancelled due to bad weather. Hotel was kind enough to accommodate and refund me 1 night. Its definitely a nice place to stay.
Very quaint historic hotel in the middle of Kumara, not far from Greymouth.
The room was clean and updated, as was the bathroom, with a great shower.
Only one disappointing feature was that we could hear the rain on the adjacent roof, but if it hadn’t rained, then it would be perfect. Lovely meal in the restaurant too!
The hotel environment is good. It is easy to find via Baidu or Google Maps navigation on Ctrip orders. The rooms are bright and spacious and well-equipped. The rooms are full-color bungalows, and self-driving cars can be parked directly at the door of the rooms, which is very convenient. Free parking. Breakfast can be booked at reception.
On the main road, but there are not many cars, it is still very quiet. Next to it is Red Super, shopping is very convenient, but the kitchen has no exhaust fan and window, not suitable for cooking in the room, we are eating dinner at the brewery. The owner is an old lady, kind, and found that the New Zealand motel if the owner is an old lady, the room is very clean.
Very nice staff, everything was perfect. Breakfast could be better but quite standard in NZ.
Very Good

GGuest UserGiven 1 for amenities as the bed was too soft and the shower was very weak and the temperature gauge was very tricky. Needed to be a plumber to set the optimum temperature.
The fridge did not work. the temperature gauge button was broken

SshaycydwThe room was nice and cosy with great in-room facilities and essentials (e.g. kitchen and cutlery stuff). Lots of choices for coffee and tea. Located right at the center of everything :) no air-con in the room but it didn’t matter as the weather was alright even in the peak summer season.
Hhhwb888The hotel is right next to the departure point for the Fox Glacier helicopter, and you can walk there after checking in. It rained when we came so we couldn't make the trip, but the hotel itself was pretty good and the room was large. The only drawback was that the water pressure was very low and the shower was not very comfortable. Breakfast is a Western-style buffet breakfast, which is not rich but enough to satisfy you. You can have dinner for white people at the whitepub coffee shop next to the hotel. It costs NZD 25-30 per person and the taste is okay. Hotels in Fox Glacier are generally expensive. After 11 days in New Zealand, this is the only one with a price over 1,000.
GGuest UserA very good hotel. The concierge will provide free valet parking. The front desk staff are also friendly and enthusiastic. They will answer and satisfy all questions. The dinner is 5 courses and the service is also very good. I am very satisfied. I will stay here next time when I go to the west coast. Will choose.
