All rooms have bath tub even the cheapest option.. Breakfast was good.. But limited food option.. Tally with the price.. So no issue.. Comfortable bed and pillow.. Limited TV channel.. Pool at top floor.. Closed at 10pm so can go swim at night.. Some suggestion may include mirror near electric socket, difficult to use hair dryer without mirror nearby.. Overall the stay was great if u consider the price tag..

I just stayed for one night. Which was enough for me. Be aware this is not part of the official Rainbow Resort Hotel. Upon seeing my confirmation, the receptionist told me my room was an Airbnb. The building is a hotel as well private rooms that are rented out. The room itself was very spacious, 70 sqm with one bedroom and a living space. It had obviously been repainted recently (it smelt a fresh paint) so the walls were clean. Air conditioning and basic amenities were provided. The building itself, has seen a lot of wear and tear. If you’re on a budget and want a spacious room it will meet your needs. For the price I think it’s quite reasonable if you’re there for a short stay. The hotel is next to a beach, and a swimming pool downstairs. There a few restaurants across the road.

Although the hotel opened in 2014, the rooms' facilities and cleanliness are still very well-maintained. The shower has great water pressure, making for a very comfortable bathing experience. The pillows in the room were a bit uncomfortable for me – too high and too springy. The bed was large and the mattress was very comfortable. My room didn't come with bathrobes. It was quiet at night, and the air conditioning in the room was strong. Directly opposite the hotel is a large shopping mall, and a big supermarket is not far away. It's also within walking distance to various attractions. The infinity pool is excellent, with a good long lane for swimming. Breakfast is served from 6:30 AM to 10 AM, and the food selection is substantial and fitting for a 4-star hotel, offering everything you'd expect.

Great hospitality and service throughout my stay in Penang Amari Spice Hotel. Upon arrival, the reception team kindly upgraded me to a Premier King room without any request, which was a wonderful surprise. The room was spacious, clean, well-maintained, and had a pleasant scent—everything was excellent. I would like to express my utmost appreciation to the midnight team on 21/03/2026. During our stay, my friend suddenly fell seriously ill during midnight . We attempted to call emergency services (999), but unfortunately were unable to get through to the nearby general hospital immediately. The situation was critical, and waiting another 10–20 minutes could have put my friend’s life at risk. Thankfully, the Penang Amari hotel team acted swiftly and professionally. They followed up with us, and the female manager along with the guy management team arrived promptly to assess the situation. They provided immediate support and helped arrange transportation to the nearest hospital, ensuring we arrived within 10 minutes. Thanks to their quick response and care, my friend’s life was saved. And even after check out they still texting us to concern on the guest safety. We are deeply grateful for their kindness, efficiency, and dedication during such a critical moment. The hotel's location near the airport with a complimentary airport shuttle service was a huge plus. We had an early flight at 7 AM the next day, and they checked us out at 4:50 AM and took us to the airport, saving us from the risk of being overcharged by a taxi. The hotel also has an on-site restaurant with reasonable prices; the coconut and stone pot chicken rice were quite good. There's a pool that's perfect for kids. The hotel also has a small courtyard with a mural wall that's great for photos. However, the room facilities are a bit dated. The large room I booked had a stained sofa. I'm not sure if it was perfume or an air freshener, but the scent in the room was a bit overwhelming and needs improvement.

The location is excellent! Buses like the 101, 201, and 202 can take you to the ferry terminal, while the 204 goes to Penang Hill and Kek Lok Si Temple. There's also a free shuttle bus stop right across the street (be aware it's a one-way service). Most attractions are quite close, with the exception of Chew Jetty, the Beach Street Fire Station, the mural street, and the Gurney Drive Clock Tower, which are a bit further (over 20 minutes walk). Several Michelin-starred eateries are within a 10-minute walk. However, Penang gets very hot, so it's best to stick to indoor activities between 11 AM and 4 PM. The hotel service is great. They can provide change for smaller denominations, and housekeeping is very prompt. The purified water dispenser in the hallway perfectly refills the water bottle in the room twice. The complimentary iced drinks are a thoughtful touch. Breakfast is abundant, and I highly recommend the roti canai. Considering the prime location, it offers excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times and it never disappoints. The rooms are consistently clean, and the bed is very comfortable, making it easy to relax. There’s ample parking available, which is very convenient. The hotel is also family-friendly, with a kids’ room that’s great for children. I especially appreciate that the swimming pool is open until 10pm, giving more flexibility to unwind in the evening. Overall, a reliable and pleasant stay every time.

The room and bathroom were very spacious and comfortable. The air conditioning worked efficiently and cooled the room quickly, which was especially appreciated in Penang’s warm weather. The towels were also of good quality with strong absorption. Parking was slightly unusual in layout, but still manageable. Even during the festive season, there were plenty of parking lots available, which was a big plus. The location is convenient. Northam Beach Cafe is within a 10-minute walking distance, and there is a traffic light for pedestrians to safely cross the road. There is also a Starbucks just 5 minutes behind the hotel, making it easy to grab coffee. However, the major downside was the poor soundproofing. I could clearly hear the next door guests talking loudly, laughing, and even closing their doors. Unfortunately, this affected my sleep quality and was quite disappointing. Overall, it was a good stay with very friendly and helpful concierge service. If the soundproofing can be improved, the experience would be much better.

I was upgraded to a Deluxe room but it was at the extreme corner next to the service staircase. Grateful for the upgraded but the room conditions were not up to par . Hair in shower room , the shower holder fell when I was taking it out and it dropped on my toe . Hence the blue black toe shown ( hehe ) . I could not sleep the whole night as the air con was very very noisy even when I lower the adjustment. The day curtain was torn . I sound it out to reception the next morning to see whether they can change my room as I was staying for another 2 nights . They did and I reckoned it was another up grade as now the room has a standing shower room . In the other previous room , you have to stand in the bath tub to shower and for a man of 65 , it is a bit tricky . The hotel really needs an up grade too . It is in a good location and CAT bus is nearby . The CAT shuttle is a complimentary bus that moves around the town area . The saving grace for my trip was that the staff was up to par and reacted quickly . Well done on this . Now , I wait for my toe to heal .

Great location. Hotel located near the Hin Bus Depot, plenty of great foods around. Great view. My room was facing Komtar Tower and i have a really great window view. Service Tiptop. From check-in, to check-out, and keeping the luggage, all staff are very helpful and welcoming. Great Facilities. Just manage to use the pool, and i love the view and, not to crowded.
