"I made two separate bookings. The first was for a 2-night stay for myself from July 15-17, 2026, which went very smoothly and I was completely satisfied with it. The second booking was for the following week, a 1-night stay for my father and family from July 22-23, 2026, and that experience was absolutely terrible. I had initially made a mistake with the reservation date, and the manager very kindly offered to modify the booking, including changing the dates and the number of rooms, for an additional fee (which I understood and accepted). However, on my father's arrival day, a week later, the receptionist couldn't find any record of the modifications; only the original booking was in their system. We had to involve the manager again to try and fix the situation, and after a long wait at reception (with young children present), the issue was finally resolved. But then another problem arose: the hotel was fully booked, and there was no availability for a second room. After more than 1.5 hours of trying, the receptionist eventually managed to find two rooms for them. It turned out that this second room hadn't been cleaned at all; it was dirty, smelled musty, the air conditioning didn't work, and to make matters worse, there were cockroaches. My father and the family had a very unpleasant night. They ended up moving the mattresses into the other room just to be able to sleep, as it was impossible to stay in such conditions. Honestly, my first solo reservation was perfect, which is why I made the second booking for my father and family. I never would have imagined such an experience at a 5-star hotel. I assume the hotel was full and they assigned a room that had been unoccupied for a long time and was in a disastrous state. However, the error was entirely on their part; the modification was supposedly made a week prior, and I paid a premium price for this reservation. There's no justification for them being given such a room. We shouldn't have to pay for their mistakes."

"Stayed at Hotel Africa in an executive room. The location on Avenue Habib Bourguiba is very convenient for exploring central Tunis, although personally I think the atmosphere becomes more interesting slightly closer to the Medina. Still, Tunis is compact enough that this never really mattered. The executive room was extremely spacious. The bed was comfortable, but overall both room and bathroom were fairly simple and slightly dated in style. However, the hotel is solid and practical choice in a good central location."

"I had an overall average stay at the hotel. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable, which I really appreciated after a long day. The staff were also nice, welcoming, and helpful. However, the biggest downside was the noise. Despite my room not facing the street directly, I could still hear a lot of outside noise during the night, which made it difficult to sleep properly. Soundproofing could definitely be improved. In summary, it’s a decent place with friendly service and clean rooms, but not the best choice if you’re a light sleeper."

"Flight was delayed so turned into late arrival, quick ride from the airport and I was at the hotel. Good location, able to walk to the central market, lots of restaurants, roof top views, Beb Bhar, flower market, rugs to see and perfumes to smell. Liked the firm mattress, good sized room, staff were polite and helpful, did have to venture out to get some water but had lots of little shops that were still open. So much to see and do will need to come back for more than 3 days. Cheers 🥂"

"Mövenpick Hotel Gammarth is a fantastic place for a relaxing getaway. The atmosphere is peaceful, the grounds are beautifully maintained, and the private beach is absolutely stunning—perfect for spending the day by the sea. The hotel truly delivers a five-star experience, especially when it comes to food. The breakfast buffet offers an excellent variety of fresh and high-quality options, and the dining venues throughout the hotel are equally impressive. The location is another big advantage. It's easy to reach Sidi Bou Said for a walk through its charming blue-and-white streets, and several shopping malls are just a short drive away, making it convenient for both sightseeing and shopping. The only downside during our stay was the indoor pool policy, as children were only allowed to use it until midday, which limited the time families could enjoy the facility together. Overall, the combination of a beautiful beachfront setting, outstanding food, and a relaxing atmosphere makes this hotel an excellent choice. I would happily stay here again on a future visit to Tunisia."

"I highly recommend this hotel! First off, the male staff at reception was incredibly kind and allowed us to store our luggage. The room itself was very clean, and they cleaned it daily (they also replaced the two towels every day). The shower had a good hot and cold water supply, and they provided shampoo and body soap as amenities. Plus, the lovely woman who cleans the rooms also prepares breakfast, and her hospitality was wonderful every time. The hotel is also close to the city center, so I was very satisfied. My only heads-up is that there are about 5-6 cats at the entrance, so those who aren't fond of cats might want to be aware."

"The first time I stayed in a hotel, I locked myself outside the balcony of my room and couldn't get back into the room. I don't know how the hotel designed it, but the balcony door would automatically lock when closed from the outside. Is this to prevent theft?"

"The hotel is very modern and stylish. However, some rooms are more spacious than others. The breakfast service was nice, however the restaurant gets very busy at night and service can be extremely slow. Hotel staff are extremely kind and helpful, however the hotel doesn't cater very well for visitors with special needs like the disabled or elderly with limited mobility. For example there are no porters or staff to help with luggage."

"I arrived on 30 th aug , late night , had booked in online, arrived tired and waited 30 mins, which was frustrating, then was given a room where a dog was in a balcony opposite, I did not sleep all night, but when I did put it to the hotel they did change my room"
