Our
Seated Exercise Instructor Training
is designed for anyone who wants to help older people move more, feel better and stay independent for longer.
Whether you’re a volunteer, work in local authority, health or social care, or simply want to give back, this practical, supportive course will give you the skills and confidence to deliver safe, enjoyable chair-based exercise sessions.
You’ll learn how to plan and lead engaging sessions
that improve strength, balance and wellbeing, while adapting activities for people with sensory, physical or cognitive impairments.
The training is hands-on, friendly and focused on real-life delivery – perfect for community settings, care homes or one-to-one support.
The course covers:
Why physical activity is so important for older people
How to plan sessions and carry out simple risk assessments
Communicating confidently with people with a range of needs
A wide range of practical seated exercises, including TheraBand, pelvic floor and balance work
Evaluating sessions and basic record keeping
A practical assessment to build confidence and competence
Through a mix of learning and hands-on practice, you’ll build the skills and confidence to lead engaging sessions in community settings, care homes or one-to-one.
Each participant receives a comprehensive training pack and a certificate on completion.
