Join the 2024 Kitten Camp for a day filled with excitement, dancing, and enthusiastic support for the Bearcats! Attendees can enter through either the East doors at the Big K or the West doors at Kearney High School. As you arrive, make sure to check in at the tables located outside the main gym for the morning session of camp and before the game. It's important to check your child in for both the camp and the game. The day camp runs from 9am to 11am, with registration starting at 8:30am. During camp, campers will have the opportunity to learn a halftime performance, participate in games, and receive instruction on various dance moves and techniques. At 11am, promptly pick up your child from the main gym at Kearney High School. Then, later in the day, between 4pm and 4:15pm, bring your child back to Kearney High School to sit with the Dance Catz during the first half of the KHS Girls Varsity Basketball game, which begins at 4:30pm. Your child will have the chance to showcase the routine they learned during the morning camp with a halftime performance. Please ensure that your child arrives at the game wearing the camp T-shirt, with a tattoo applied to their face, and ready to perform. Poms will be provided at the game! To check your child out of camp, you will need to present a check out ticket to the registration staff. This ticket will be given to you during the registration process. We highly recommend pre-purchasing game entry tickets when registering your child online for the camp to avoid long lines on the day of the game. The 2024 Kearney Bearcat Commitment to Excellence Football Camp is an essential event for high school students who are passionate about football. Taking place from May 28th to May 31st at the Kearney High School Turf Field, this non-contact camp is specifically designed for players in grades 9-12. Led by experienced high school and college coaches, participants will receive expert instruction on individual football techniques, as well as offense, defense, and special teams strategies. In addition to the comprehensive training, each camper will receive a camp t-shirt featuring the team's motto. Prior to the start of the camp, there will be an equipment check-out where helmets and shoulder pads will be distributed. More details regarding this process will be provided soon. To ensure the safety of all participants, it is required that each camper has received a medical examination within the past year and has been cleared to play football. Additionally, all campers must have a valid health insurance policy. In the event of an injury, parents or guardians give consent for appropriate medical treatment to be administered. The Kearney Girls Basketball Summer Camp for Grades 2-8 will take place at Kearney High School from May 28 to May 30, 2024. The camp offers specialized training sessions for different age groups. For 1st-3rd graders, the focus will be on skills development, competitions, and games guided by KHS staff and players. 4th-5th graders will participate in skills assessments, competitions, games, and an introduction to team strategies for potential future team opportunities. Similarly, 6th-8th graders will also engage in skills assessments, competitions, games, and team concept introductions. Additionally, there is a 4th-8th Skills Academy program available from June 6 to June 29. This program concentrates on shooting, ball-handling, competitive games, and individual as well as team development. A T-shirt and basketball will be provided to all campers. By enrolling, parents certify that their child is medically insured and agree to bear the cost of any medical services needed due to camp participation. They also release Kearney Public Schools, JD Carson, and all camp staff from liability for any camp-related injuries.
