Since the 1970s, Michael Doret has brought his unique words-as-images to a wide range of projects, from magazine covers to record covers, logos to typefaces, and much more. Letterform Archive holds a major part Michael’s archive, including rough-to-refined sketches, meticulous mechanicals and color studies, and other original artwork. Join Michael at the Archive (or online via Zoom at 6:00pm PT) in conversation with Associate Curator Stephen Coles, and get a peek into the secrets of drawing letters by hand. Book signing to follow. Stephen “Stewf” Coles, Associate Curator & Editorial Director (he/him), joined the staff after serving on our Board of Directors since its inception.
