What is involved in the procedure?

Birmingham Tour: Warstone Lane cemetery catacomb single underground tunnel.
For one day only,
come and explore and delve into the subterranean world of Warstone Lane Cemetery and discover beneath the former church its fascinating underground tunnel, leading to the semi-circular tiered catacombs.
As you explore, you'll hear the intriguing story of
John Baskerville,
the renowned printer and Japanner who experienced multiple burials. This tour will shed light on his remarkable tale.
The Birmingham Blitz,
these catacombs were used as
Air Raid shelters
during WWII.
There will be one tunnel/ chamber open in the catacombs, and no human remains or coffins will be seen.
The duration of the tour is about 50 minutes or more, depending on Q & A that is encouraged.

Ever had a brilliant photoshoot idea but lacked the resources or contacts to make it happen? Whether you're a makeup artist, photographer, or stylist, connecting with local models, designers, and videographers can be challenging. Studio fees might be too high, or finding the right facilities or people to work with locally can be tough.
We've created a solution for emerging creatives looking to work with a talented team. Imagine having access to a fully equipped studio for 5 hours, with three different sets to choose from. Up to 30 individuals, including models, photographers, videographers, stylists, makeup artists, hair stylists, and designers, will be there. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group to bring your vision to life & network with local creatives.
It's like a creative co-working space where you can leverage each other's skills to enhance your concepts while working on your own projects.
What's Available:
Three Different Sets: Dark backdrop, white coved wall, and a garden fantasy set.
Access to the buildings communal areas which features traditional 1930s elevators & has 3 original cage door elevators. Around the building there are several iron staircases with derelict windows and views onto the roof tops. wide corridors with 20ft high Sky lights.
Fully Equipped Studio:The latest lighting for professional cameras, camera phones, and videos.
x1 heavy duty singer sewing machine ( straight & zigzag stitching)
Refreshments:Free tea, coffee, and snacks (grapes, olives, crisps).

Philosophy is not just an abstract pursuit - it is a way of living.
Modern analytical philosophy often focuses solely on theories about reality, morality, and culture. Even “practical philosophy” spends more time on theory than the actual practices of our lives. Ancient philosophers, however, understood philosophy as a practice for life itself. They saw philosophers as therapists, doctors, or guides. Socrates likened himself to a “midwife”, practicing particular skills in order to help others give birth to wisdom and a deeper understanding of themselves. For them, philosophy was about transformation.
Philosophical Practices
are about bringing philosophy to life, developing skills that are both enjoyable and transformational. These sessions combine ancient traditions of meditation and the socratic method with modern practices such as authentic relating. They will also feature talks that share the philosophy and science supporting these arts. Each activity is designed to cultivate skills that enhance clarity and connectivity with the world, ourselves, and each other - making us better people and better philosophers.

The sessions will take place across four Tuesday evenings in May and June. All sessions will be held in person at The Birmingham and Midland Institute.

Himaya Haven CIC is a leading Birmingham based organisation that concentrates on working with Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Communities (BAME) and specialise in supporting families of loved ones in custody and prison. Himaya Haven provide a range of culturally-sensitive services to meet individuals’ and family members’ needs whilst they progress through the criminal justice system by offering holistic support, advice, guidance, information, coping therapies and access to mainstream services.
Join Himaya Haven for their BAME Families of Prisoners Evaluation Report Launch. The BAME Families of Prisoners Evaluation Report Launch will provide a powerful insight into the challenges, experiences, and support needs of BAME families impacted by the criminal justice system. The launch will disseminate the findings of the evaluation of Himaya Haven’s work with BAME families of prisoners conducted by a researcher from Birmingham City University. The launch serves as a platform to share insights, successes, and areas for improvement in the work Himaya Haven do to support BAME families and the wider community.
Attendees, including policymakers, public stakeholders, as well as community partner organisations, will gain a deeper understanding of the impact that Himaya Haven’s support services have had upon the families and their everyday lives of having a loved one in the criminal justice system. This launch will not only be a reflection on Himaya Haven’s work in supporting BAME families of prisoners but will also denote its key learnings which will be of importance and interest to wider audiences working in communities, criminal justice, policy, or research, in order to help shape a more just and inclusive society.
