First and foremost, it’s an Irish dance show, with plenty of the fancy footwork and formidable stomps made world-famous by iconic shows like Riverdance, Lord of the Dance and Heartbeat of Home. “We adore these shows; they are an inspiration,” says director Brad Macdonald. “We wouldn’t be doing this if these amazing productions hadn’t blazed the trail for us. Sensational gymnastics and martial arts will have you on the edge of your seat and remind you of watching the Olympics. Our live musicians electrify even the most reserved audiences, transporting them to a cozy Irish pub. The dance and music are enhanced by stunning costumes, an elaborate set, sensational lighting and special effects, and dramatic video storytelling on a gigantic, state-of-the-art LED screen. “Imagine taking a classic Irish dance show and blending it with a West End musical and a Hollywood movie,” says Macdonald. “This is what we have done with Celtic Throne—Psalter of Ireland. You won’t find better value for your money—it’s three experiences in one!” Our dancers range in age from 5 to 25. Jackie Kay
is a celebrated poet, playwright, and novelist whose work explores themes of identity, belonging, and imagination. Known for her ability to shift between voices, she brings a dynamic, rhythmic quality to her writing, often infused with her Glasgow accent. Born in Scotland to a Scottish mother and a Nigerian father, Jackie was adopted by white parents and grew up in Glasgow in a family deeply involved in politics and social justice. She began writing poetry at the age of 12, focusing on issues she saw in the world. Her love for drama and performance shaped her approach to poetry, drawing inspiration from Burns Night recitations and spoken-word events in Glasgow. She discovered that poetry could be written in everyday language and performed in an engaging, dramatic way.
