Fundamentals of Radiology IT - Basics of PACS, RIS and Imaging Informatics | Liverpool City Centre - UKIO 2025 Weekend

Jun 1, 2025 (UTC+1)
Liverpool
Cultural Experiences
Sunday 1st June 2025 (immediately prior to UKIO 2025). The very popular one day course covering the fundamental basics of Radiology I.T., including PACS, RIS and their interactions with wider clinical applications such as EPR, electronic requesting etc. The basics of HL7 and DICOM will be introduced at a level suitable for radiographers and those with minimal or no prior experience of PACS. Applications of the technology along with current hot topics will be discussed. Training is delivered by NHS PACS Managers, recognised as experts in the field. Venue: Liverpool City Centre (as always, due to the high demand and hundreds of attendees on this date, venues are allocated in groups) This subsidised non-profit course is tailored for those with an interest but minimal or no prior formal knowledge of PACS, including Radiographers, Students, PACS Administrators, I.T. Support or other interested parties. Topics will be presented from the UK perspective (both NHS and private). Further courses cover Intermediate (2 days) and Advanced levels (3 days) and are listed in the 'providers other courses' section. Early booking: £50. Course textbook, attendance certificate and online verification service: £25. Discounted copy of official 'Clark's PACS, RIS & Imaging Informatics' course textbook is now included in the Eventbrite pricing due to their bundling requirements. Places are being allocated first to those on the waiting list and those with booking codes from Trusts and Universities. If you would like a self-funded place as an individual, please email: 01072025@purpleconsult.com Due to high demand (and the low cost!), this session requires a minimum of 10 places per NHS or Supplier purchase order I'm afraid. FAQ's: Q: Will I see / be taught by Alexander Peck? A: Alex teaches one of the larger groups live on this day, but we also use a number of other equally knowledgeable trainers who follow the same syllabus created by him. Q: Where should I book accommodation? A: All venues will be close to Liverpool city centre. Q: Is parking available at the venue/s? A: Yes, all venues are close to public car parking (however, local costs may apply). Q: Why multiple venues? A: Due to the high popularity of the training and wide range of professions attending, groups are split into similar professions - NHS Radiography, Dentistry, Veterinarian, Suppliers etc.). With limited room choices in smaller training centres, venues are allocated dependent on group sizes, each with their own trainer. Groups are allocated around two weeks prior to the session - please await an email around this time to the address registered with Eventbrite (all correspondence is routed through the Eventbrite system). Q: Is it possible to live-stream abroad? A: Yes, we can route the live-stream internationally, either live or delayed for timezone requirements. Please note this is not Teams / Zoom screen sharing, it requires a full AV team in the remote room for talkback which we will arrange. Q: Is this session suitable for supplier / vendor staff to attend for personal CPD? A: Yes, supplier staff are welcome at the same price. We can also live-stream to a private 'all company' room if you have 5+ attendees from the same team / division / company. Contact us directly for this option as costs vary depending on venue and spaces available. Our trainers use talkback earpieces to interact with all groups in the same way as the 'live' audience. Q: Is lunch included? A: Some sessions include a restaurant lunch provided by our training supporters (for NHS staff). We don't know for sure until nearer the time (logistics around this are tricky!). Please see your venue information email for details nearer the time. The show was ranked in the top 20 best-reviewed shows of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2023. ‘The density of gags is impressive… There’s not many better exponents of this message-free, ego-free, knockabout comedy than Ellis in his prime. And this is that show.’ ★★★★1/2 Chortle ‘Ellis’s performance is touched by comic genius. Every moment he is on stage something funny, and then funnier, is happening.’ ★★★★★ Scotsman Gary Hyland- Opener Gary is an up and coming comedian from Liverpool who loves to share his funny yet some time controversial stories about his life and doesn't take himself too serious. Hyland had good energy levels and was a lively stage presence. - Notts Comedy Review had me in stitches from start to finish, one of the funniest acts I've ever seen - James Kilvington, Ace Comedy Club. Supported by: Cameron Jones Hailing from St HeIens, Cameron has been doing Stand Up on the open mic circuit for the past 4 years. His comedy is a Northern man speaking about his working class experiences whilst desperately and often unsuccessfully trying to make friends with the audience.
