Griffin Alumni & Friends of the UGA Bulldogs Annual Meeting Thursday, July 24, 2025 Come join us for a night of Food, Football & Fun! Social Hour begins at 6:00 p.m with music from the UGA Redcoat Alumni Band . The Varsity will be serving from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Come early if you plan to eat! Program will begin at 7:00 p.m. We are very excited to welcome Jake Fromm to the UGA Griffin Campus as our Special Guest this year! Jake was the Bulldogs Quarterback from 2017-2019. Table Sponsorships are available: Red Level - $600 - 8 tickets Black Level - $300 - 4 tickets Silver Level - $150 - 2 tickets All sponsorships will receive event recognition, reserved seating, and entry into the Sponsor Raffle at the end of the night. Individual Ticket Cost: $40 per person. We recommend that you pay in advance to ensure that we have enough food and seating for everyone. Walk up tickets on the night of are $60 per person. Payment options: Credit/debit card and credit card fees will apply Check - no fees; reserve now! Cash will be accepted at the door - reserve now! UGA Green University This informative training will be offered in English and Spanish tracks with credits offered in Category 24. This training will be held onsite at the University of Georgia Griffin Campus in Griffin, GA. Welcome to the Griffin-Spalding County Library Book Bolt 5K 2025! The Griffin-Spalding County Library, in partnership with FROGSLIB (Friends of the Griffin-Spalding County Library), presents the 10th Annual Book Bolt 5K Run/Walk. Proceeds from the race benefit the Library's programs and collection development needs (books, audio visuals, etc.) This event is open to everyone. Runners, walkers, strollers, volunteers, children, and library lovers are all invited to participate in this family-friendly event. Pre-register by October 10, 2025 to be guaranteed a t-shirt. Race Day Schedule: Race day registration begins at 7:30 AM and ends at 8:45 AM. Race begins at 9:00 AM. The race will be held rain or shine! The speakers will update the audience regarding the recent research findings on effective herbicides against various pest species. The speakers will discuss any new information affecting the turfgrass industry, including cultivars and changes to existing regulations. Industry Update 2025: Ornamentals - Dr. Bikash Ghimire, Plant Pathology, University of Georgia, Athens, GA; and Dr. Shimat V. Joseph, Entomology, University of Georgia, Griffin, GA Insects and plant pathogens remain major challenges for ornamental nursery managers and landscape managers. The speaker will update the audience on recent research findings on the effectiveness of insecticides and fungicides against various pest species.
