Gegründet im Jahr 1951, hat sich der Internationale Wettbewerb für junge Dirigenten schnell als die prestigeträchtigste Veranstaltung seiner Art etabliert. Klassisches, romantisches und 20. Jahrhundert-Repertoire, zeitgenössische Musik, Oper, Konzert… Es gibt keinen vollständigeren Dirigierwettbewerb weltweit als den von Besançon. Der Wettbewerb von Besançon steht allen Künstler:innen unter 35 Jahren offen, die eine Karriere als professioneller Dirigent anstreben – unabhängig von ihrem Werdegang, ihrer Ausbildung oder ihrer Erfahrung, da kein vorheriges Diplom erforderlich ist. Der Wettbewerb in Besançon ist der einzige Dirigierwettbewerb, der keine Vorauswahl anhand von Bewerbungsunterlagen trifft, sondern durch Live-Auditions. Mehr als 300 Kandidaten haben die Möglichkeit, sich in Paris, Besançon, Montreal, Berlin und Seoul vorzustellen – begleitet von zwei Pianist:innen und bewertet von einer Jury aus Fachleuten. Die Teilnehmer:innen müssen zwei Pianisten dirigieren, die sinfonische Werke in einer Klavierfassung spielen. Sie haben nur wenige Minuten Zeit, um die beiden Jurymitglieder zu überzeugen: den französischen Dirigenten Jean-François Verdier und die südkoreanische Geigerin Jaewon Kim, Konzertmeisterin des Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse. Nach dieser Auswahlrunde werden nur 20 Kandidaten für die Finalrunden mit Orchester im September in Besançon zugelassen. Dort treten sie vor einer internationalen Jury mit sieben Persönlichkeiten unter dem Vorsitz des dänischen Dirigenten Michael Schønwandt auf. Jeder Abend ist dabei eine ganz einzigartige Veranstaltung, keine Lesung gleicht der anderen. Denn auch das Publikum darf und soll sich am Gespräch mit Fragen und Anmerkungen beteiligen und so den Verlauf des Abends maßgeblich beeinflussen. Je nach Zuhörerschaft, Rahmen und Laune der Poeten werden individuelle Themen, Texte und Gedanken behandelt. Interaktion ist strengstens erlaubt! Tabitha Hananist Autorin, Lyrikerin und Spoken Word Artistin. Aufgewachsen in Ägypten, bringt sie eine globale Perspektive in ihre Werke mit ein. Derzeit lebt und arbeitet sie in Berlin. Gofi Müller, geboren 1970 in Bremen, ist Autor, Künstler, Podcaster und Coach und lebt in Marburg. Er veröffentlicht Bücher und manchmal auch Musikalben, stellt seine Gemälde aus und hält Lesungen.
