The Oxford Ultra is a key part of the Thames Challenge, a 4-day event taking place in Oxford. This challenging race will be held on the 2nd day of the series, starting at 8.00 am. Participants are required to register and undergo equipment checks between 7.00 am and 7.30 am. The race commences at the Travelodge Oxford Abingdon Road, OX1 4XG, where runners will follow the Thames Path after a short distance. The route showcases stunning sights such as Sandford Weir, Culham, Cholsey, Streatley, and Whitchurch-on-Thames. The race concludes at the Catherine Wheel, J.D. Wetherspoons.
To ensure the well-being of participants, there will be three check-points along the course, providing water and nutrition options such as malt loaf, cake, sandwiches, nuts, dried fruits, sweets, and beverages. The organizers strive to accommodate various dietary requirements, including gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and non-restrictive diets. Entrants must maintain a minimum pace of 4 mph, including breaks, failing which they will be unable to continue with the Thames Challenge.
