Garden-style hotel with nice scenery. The staff is very enthusiastic and greets everyone they meet. The room is relatively large, clean and reasonably furnished, but the soundproofing is average. There are many types of breakfast and the dining environment is also good. Although there are not many types of afternoon tea, the place is large and suitable for work or chatting with a few friends, haha. It is very close to the Grand Canal Museum and there is also a Can Can Park nearby, which is suitable for taking children out for a walk

Great location! Less than 1km from West Station. Personnel were very profesional. Breakfast great and rooms very big with all the necessary things. Would definitely book again if have to stay at Cangzhou.

What a lovely gem of a hotel! I was reluctantly (very reluctantly) persuaded to leave Beijing for the weekend and head for the nesrest beach - Qinhuangdao. The Bullet Train was great fun - we splashed out on first-class tickets and had the first-class cabin all to ourselves. Qinhuangdao was a welcome change of pace from the self-important hussle of Beijing. The bad things first - the weather was terrible and the beach itself is more 1970s Blackpool than present-day Antibes. But the Hampton by Hilton was a delightful surprise. The staff are absolutely delightful. Although they don’t speak English, the use of a few translation apps soon explained to them what we needed and they always did their best to look after us. The rooms are great - we even got a free upgrade to a suite. The breakfast options are many and varied. We were the only Western guests that weekend and the other guests seemed to be Chinese middle-class families. If I had to guess I would say they tended to be from other parts of China as they didn’t seem to be the usual rude impatient Beijingers. It was lovely to see Al the little children having fun with their parents. So, our thanks to the ladies at Reception, the young concierge guys, the housekeepers and the busy breakfast staff. The owners of the this hotel is blessed with great staff. Thank you all so much for looking after us so well.

Overall a great hotel, and we loved our room and the swimming pool (the changing rooms and showers are amazing!) but there were some issues. Our door cards constantly stopped working even though we told the staff every time we extended our booking. The gym was much too hot, almost too hot to work out in. The shower in the room was not hot enough and the water temperature fluctuated a lot. Breakfast was very disappointing; the breakfast room so freezing that a lot of people had to wear their coats to breakfast and a lot of the food was cold even at 7.30am. The service at breakfast was poor and there was little good western food. Undeniably the view is absolutely stunning though. The worst thing was the internet, which even for Chinese websites was extremely slow, and that more than anything else spoiled our stay.

Upon arrival, the front desk let us know that the room we had booked online didn’t have a great view, so they automatically upgraded us for free, without my even having to ask. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The outdoor grounds are beautiful and relaxing. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant and it was an elegant array of Chinese dishes along with a few western options. Location is ideal—within walking distance to the Summer Mountain Resort and restaurants and shops. Would definitely recommend this as a high-quality hotel for a stay in Chengde.

The staff was incredibly welcoming and professional, always ready to assist with any requests. The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel has a nice restaurant and breakfast supplied, room is clean, right at the entrance of the great wall. Only thing is not many transport option to the hotel from the train station, so need to catch not licensed local people's car and the price is up there.

Family vacation 13-24 august 2024. Cute and friendly staff in hotel. Good location, near the beach and the bus stop (route 15). Clean and cosy large room (Deluxe Family Suit, block 2). Supermarket near the reception. Good cuisine for breakfast, and real coffee beside restaurant. Only good emotions. 5 points.

The hotel's pricing is reasonable and competitive with other hotels in the area. The location of the hotel is not ideal as there are not many shops or restaurants nearby. However, there is a mall within a 10-minute walk that has several western fast food chains such as KFC, Subway, and McDonald's.

The entrance of the hotel is the south gate of Rongguofu Scenic Area. There are special foods around. The hotel accommodation is good and clean. There is a shuttle bus at the door to go to major attractions and travel is convenient.

I found the Kaiyan Xiyue a very relaxing and professional hotel. I received a helpful greeting from the reception staff who were well turned out. The room and dining room staff were pleasant and efficient. The room was just right, comfortable and comforting. A washing machine is available for guests. One of the reception team walked me to the taxi and ended my stay with a nice touch of welcome from China. Xiexie. Why I visited? Longxing Temple, a wonder.

The location of the hotel is great. The rooms were clean and generally tidy. I was surprised to find however that there were no disposable slippers although that maybe a hotel policy to prevent waste but I think they should be made available on request. Breakfast had a good selection and was worth the cost. Sadly, we did not have time to avail of any of the other facilities in the hotel. The weak point seems to be the check in process. It took far too long, I do not expect to spend fifteen minutes to check into a hotel with a prepaid reservation. There is no issue with language as I can speak Chinese. I realise that there are extra steps to deal with when dealing with overseas guests but they seemed pretty clueless when I presented them with a permanent resident card and insisted on my passport instead. The fact there was no entry stamp in my passport as it is new confused them even more and I had to waste more time finding my old passport which luckily I had with me. I was then asked various questions concerning my travel history which in over a decade in China I have never been asked before and when I asked why they needed this information there was no definitive answer given. I also received a follow up call encouraging me to leave a review and to join their membership program, this is not expected and guests information should not be used for marketing. I expect that a manager will see this review and should note these concerns and speak to their reception team to rectify this.

The interior of the hotel is remarkable. It also has a glass sliding door design. You don't have to open the door to the bed when you pull it up. The bedding has some texture. The area is large enough. There is a dry and wet separation. There are robots for takeout. The sense of space in the public area is also good. There is free parking. There is a McDonald's and some small restaurants next door. What can be improved is that the road outside the main entrance has a bit of an urban-rural combination style.

The room we were given only had a small window but it had a nice view and comfortable bed. Only complaint is that the room is a bit dated and had strong smell of cigarettes even though we asked for non smoking. Afternoons tea is a nice feature

**Hotel Review: Aesthetic Excellence Overshadowed by Comfort Failures** Our recent stay at this supposedly 5-star hotel left us with mixed feelings. While the hotel clearly invested heavily in aesthetics, creating a visually stunning environment that looks fantastic in photos, the design seemed to prioritize form over function, ultimately compromising our comfort. Sadly, this became a deal-breaker for us. The most glaring issue was the room's ventilation and temperature control—or lack thereof. We visited in early March, and the entire building was excessively heated. Despite being from a tropical country and accustomed to warm weather, I found myself sweating in shorts and a singlet. The staff, though polite and eager to help, seemed powerless to address the issue. They provided us with a small portable AC unit, which was better than nothing, but it was clear from their demeanor that this was a recurring problem for guests. Sleeping was a nightmare. The only way to cool the room slightly was to keep the windows open, but this meant having the blinds and curtains up, allowing outside noise and light to flood in. The choice was between sleeping in a sauna-like environment or enduring the disturbances from outside. Needless to say, we had a terrible night's sleep and were relieved to check out after just one night. On a positive note, the service was impeccable. The staff truly deserve recognition for their efforts to assist guests despite the limitations they faced. The breakfast spread was also a highlight—delicious, varied, and reasonably priced, especially if you inform them in advance about adding breakfast to your stay. The room amenities were top-notch, and the spaciousness of the room added to the overall sense of luxury. We got a family suite which was plenty spacious and came with 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 bathtubs and a living area. However, these positives couldn’t outweigh the discomfort caused by the poor temperature regulation. During our trip, we stayed in four different cities across China, and this was the only hotel that lacked proper air conditioning and heating controls. For a 5-star establishment, this is a significant oversight. In conclusion, while the hotel excels in aesthetics, service, and amenities, the lack of a well-thought-out solution for room temperature is a major drawback. Management needs to address this issue with a long-term fix. After all, no matter how beautiful a hotel looks, it’s hard to appreciate it when you can’t get a good night’s rest.

The hotel was ok for the price. It was just a few minutes away from the airport by taxi. There is a shuttle bus but when we tried to call from the airport to get picked up, nobody answered the hotel phone. When we arrived, I booked a king size bedroom but I was with my colleague so the receptionist kindly change the room for a twin bedroom. Next day we took the free shuttle service to the airport. The driver was a little rude. Other than that, the hotel was fine.

The service was outstanding, extremely helpful, very friendly and attentive - many thanks to Joey who was able to help with any question! The hotel and outdoor facilities convince by a great design and are top maintained. Absolut top Position directly at the wide and clean sandy beach. An absolute highlight is the pool on the roof with a beautiful view of the beach and the sea. Perfect spot to relax and enjoy your stay. The indoor pool area is als very nice. Our room with large balcony and view of the beach was very clean and spacious. In the outdoor area is a large shallow children’s pool. Nice corners and seating areas invite you to linger. The beach directly in front of the hotel is particularly suitable for families with children. The Hotel also has a children area. The breakfast buffet offers a large selection of delicious Chinese and Western dishes. We enjoyed our stay from the first to the last minute!

The hotel is in a very good location. Pingshuiqiao Bathing Beach is right outside the door. The sea view room can also see the sea in the bathing beach. The surrounding business is very complete, with everything from restaurants to convenience stores. I like the design of the hotel very much. It is a large park. There are currently three small buildings and about one small building under construction. The colors of the decoration in the building are very bright and clean. The hotel room is reasonably designed, especially in the corridor, and I feel very safe when I walk in. The hotel service is very good. The ladies at the front desk will stand up and take the initiative to greet guests whenever they come in and out, and the cleaning aunts are also very kind. Parking is very convenient. The park area is large and there are many parking spaces. I want to say that the breakfast is a bit worrying. There are indeed many varieties, but the tableware is not very clean. We very much enjoyed our stay . Staff were very welcoming, kind and helpful. Very convenient location, a stone throw away from the beach. A mall is about 10 minutes away in a taxi. The only aspect we feel needs to improve is the breakfast. The menu was always the same which made a longer stay experience a bit boring, not always looking forward to dining. Perhaps changing a few items in the menu every morning will make that exceptional experience. Otherwise, an amazing hotel-keep it up!

The most cost-effective and valuable thing about this hotel is its location - facing due east at the bay, you can enjoy the sunrise from the room window, take the elevator downstairs and open the door to the hotel's exclusive beach; you can also catch the sunrise by getting up 10 minutes earlier, and you can watch the stars and expose star tracks on nights without fog and clouds, and your children can dig sand for a whole day... It covers 90% of the needs of coming to Beidaihe (except for the check-in of Internet celebrities). It is also very convenient to take a taxi to nearby scenic spots. I stayed for two days and caught up with the sunrise with the rolling sea of ​​clouds and the sunrise with the clear blue sky. A very nice service, listening to guest’s need. Fruit plate every afternoon with delicious fruits. I asked and got room changed due to noise and smell from kitchen. Also agreed to checkout 2 hours later than regular checkout time.

This is the place to go if you want an authentic village B&B experience. The homestay is located right in front of the Jinshanling Great Wall ticket office. The owner is amazing! He was very courteous and responsive from the very beginning, before we even arrived in Beijing. We needed a way to get to Jinshanling, so he woke up at 3 AM so he could pick us up from the train station and drive us to his homestay, in a very clean and very comfortable 6-seater minivan.  We were hungry; he called ahead and we had two steaming platters of homemade dumplings waiting for us. While we ate, he ran over to the ticket office and bought our tickets to the Great Wall. He also let us check in early and put our luggage in our room. We pre-ordered a simple farm-to-table dinner, and he went to the market while we were on the wall so we could have fresh local lamb skewers that evening. When we returned, we were treated to a very local and very delicious home cooked dinner. The next morning, he drove us to our next destination (Gubei Watertown). He also picked us up from Gubei Watertown and drove us back to Beijing. The entire time, he was wonderful. He was prompt and he did everything in his power to ensure our trip was smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

I booked a B&B for a temporary trip. It exceeded my expectations and was very cost-effective. The rooms were practical and clean. The yard could park many cars. It was very close to the parking lot of the scenic spot, so I saved parking fees. The boss called a shuttle bus and sent it directly to the ticket office. The B&B hotel serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It tastes very good. I will stay here again next time!

Hotel is situated within a neighbourhood area, suitable for those interested to experience the city from a local viewpoint. Grocery/departmental stores and various food choices within a stone's throw. Hotel staff is attentive and does great work ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Will stay here again.

We had a great stay at the Hotel! The best thing was the unbelievably friendly staff at the reception, who have been very helpful with everything and have great recommendations. The location is perfect, as it is quite sure to the main attractions in Chengde. We’ll happily come again.

This time, I took my elderly to Chengde for a trip. It happened to be a strong wind in North China. I stayed in the hotel for two days. The Hilton Garden Inn I booked was very conveniently located. It took less than ten minutes to walk to the Lizheng Gate of the Summer Resort. It was very convenient to eat and shop around the hotel. The hotel facilities were complete, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the staff were very warm and polite when entering and leaving. There was a small problem on the morning of the second day of check-in. The front desk staff of the hotel helped us solve it conscientiously and responsibly, and upgraded the view room. Because the resort was closed, we changed the train ticket and fought for a day to play. The hotel also enthusiastically delayed our check-out, which touched us very much and left a good impression on the trip to Chengde. I hope to see you next time!

We were warmly welcomed on checking in, and were pleasantly surprised to be given a complimentary upgrade, followed by a room with a waterfront view. The travel desk offered private English-speaking tours to various locations; we took the tour to the famed Mountain Resort 避暑山庄. Hospitality provided by the reception desk was graciously warm. All-in-all, I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone staying over, even if it were just for 1 night.

At the beginning it is hard for me to choose even the review is positive, but when I arrive and check in, I totally change my view. The surrounding is cozy, the room are clean with no cigarette odour even they provide ash tray in the room (suggest owner take away the ash tray and put a notice smoke at provider smoking area out side the premises), toilet are bright and water pressure is good (but hope the owner can make a little bit changes for the wiring system of the water heater), the food is tasty and size are too big for solo traveller (suggest to owner set a price for small size for not wasting food), the owner parents are friendly and always give the good service. At night, surrounding is quite and good to rest. it is a walking distance to Jing shang ling tourist center but if planning to do the sunrise walk the owner will provide a transfer service to the entrance at 330am. Overall it is a good choice to stay here.

The May Day family tour in Chengde, considering the location, room environment, surrounding facilities, price and other factors, finally booked Tianbao Holiday, stayed for three nights, very satisfied. The hotel is located in the city center, with complete surrounding facilities. Shopping malls, supermarkets, civic squares, night markets, restaurants, etc. are basically within a radius of one kilometer and can be reached on foot. It is not far from the Summer Resort, you can walk, ride a shared electric motorcycle, or take a taxi at the starting price. Parking at the hotel is also very convenient, with parking lots on the ground and underground. The hotel rooms are clean and tidy, and the decoration is relatively new. The room we booked has a floor-to-ceiling window with a great view! The children like to take the hotel's sightseeing elevator the most. The staff is enthusiastic and Pingping is beyond professional and warm-hearted. There is free Tremella soup in the evening, and the children drink it every night. There is a shortage of water and laundry detergent, and the response is super fast. Overall, the hotel is still very good, and I will choose Tianbao Holiday next time I come to Chengde!
