Clean and tidy, spacious rooms, well-equipped, and a great location! Very nice. You can see the ocean right from your window, and even catch the sunset in the evening!!! There's also a beachfront pool on the 7th floor 😄 where you can also watch the sunset.

The hotel is clean and hygienic. It's a one-bedroom apartment with a washing machine. It's very convenient for getting around, being close to the pier, so you can sleep in a bit. I was always the last one to be picked up for tours. It also has a balcony.

Only 15 to 20 min drive trom airport. Cross the roac in front of the hotel and you're facing the sea. The sea view is not that great though. 10min walk to che ”Philippines Market” which sells a lot of fresh produce and street food but it's very smoky.
Another 10min walk away and you reach Api Api Night Market but it only opens on Fri n Sat night.
Hotel serves a decent & good spread of buffet breakfast. Service staffs are smiley and friendly.

I had an excellent stay at Ming Garden Hotel & Residences for my recent business trip. The hotel hits the mark on all fronts—the location is strategic for getting around, and the service was incredibly efficient and welcoming. My room was spotless and very comfortable for working. Highly recommended for business travellers looking for a hassle-free experience.

It is an amazing hotel, centrally located with very generous amount of freebies like water different types of coffee and tea. The flow coffee also has very nice cakes.
The room we book is not the one we get..We requested a king bed size but got a queen bed size..
The hotel also needs to change their towel already because some of the towels are already torn out

Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu is probably the best place to stay in the entire city, not just for the rooms, but for everything else as well. The hotel is modern, very clean, and the service attitude from every single staff member is outstanding, from check-in to housekeeping to restaurant and bar teams.
The pool and views on the 23rd floor are amazing, and the gym, while slightly small, has a really nice mountain view. Breakfast offers a great variety, and à la carte options are included at no extra cost, which is a big plus. The bar is excellent, especially during happy hour with buy-one-get-one-free deals on selected drinks. Honestly, the hotel was so comfortable that we barely wanted to leave, even just for a walk outside.
Special thanks to Natalie at check-in, who was incredibly friendly, patient, and welcoming. She even upgraded us from a city-view room to a mountain-view room, which made the stay even more special. At the bar, Alvin was tirelessly explaining the menu and drinks to us, and Yus always greeted us with a warm smile and provided great service, they truly made the experience memorable.
If I ever come back to Kota Kinabalu, this would 100% be my place to stay again.
The decor is a bit dated, but it's very quiet with a nice environment. There's a huge pool with a big slide that both adults and kids will love. It's perfect for a family or couples' getaway.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel views are absolutely stunning. The room was a bit old-fashioned but very comfortable. Breakfast was decent, especially with the local food options, though there wasn't much variety in the fruit selection, and it didn't change much day to day. I was disappointed to see some fellow Chinese guests at breakfast wasting food, piling their plates high only to take a couple of bites and leave. That's quite uncivilized.
XXiaolanmaosarahThe hotel was really just so-so, but its location is great. It's only a 10-minute walk to the pier for boat excursions, and there are supermarkets and restaurants all around. However, I really have to complain about the hotel's service. We were two adults and one child, and we brought our own toiletries. We just wanted to ask for one more bath towel, but the hotel refused... Honestly, it's the first time I've encountered such a stingy hotel. I wasn't trying to take it home; it's just that two towels aren't enough for three people to shower. That's easy to understand, right? Seriously, it's speechless...
__WeChat28276****The good parts: The breakfast was great, especially the noodle station which was a savior for my Chinese palate. The rooms didn't require power adapters, which was a nice touch. The hotel also offered many recreational activities, although many were canceled due to rain during the wet season. However, I must say, the hotel's environment and sea view were truly impressive. There was a dance party and fireworks on New Year's Eve, creating a fantastic atmosphere, and the staff were consistently friendly in person.
But two very unpleasant things happened during my stay. Firstly, on New Year's Eve, we had hotpot at the Chinese restaurant. The service was incredibly slow, the food tasted bland, and the lobster in the seafood didn't seem very fresh. The second issue was that our room was a single room converted from a suite, with a connecting door to the adjacent room. One night, the guests next door kept frantically turning the doorknob, trying to open it. We called the hotel hoping they could help resolve it, but it took a long time for the manager to arrive. Fortunately, the guests next door were also two girls, and they were turning the handle because they were scared that the connecting door wasn't secure. I called the front desk asking if we could switch rooms, but the hotel's final solution was to move the neighbors, leaving us in the same room. I think connecting rooms should be clearly stated in the room description beforehand. Secondly, if the people next door had malicious intent, the hotel's response time would have left us feeling very unsafe.
Finally, I happened to swim with a lizard in the pool. I'm not particularly afraid of them, so it was fine for me. This is probably a matter of personal preference.

GGuest UserHi. We just checked out today. We really appreciate very good services and hospitality by Hyatt Regency Team Kota Kinabalu. From bellboy, to receptionist, room service and restaurants all were very friendly and helpful. Plus, stay with my parents(senior citizen) and aid by wheelchair to move was very convenient as we got helped by the staffs. Thank you!

DderektkchanThe sea view from our room was partially obstructed, which was a minor downside. However, we were very satisfied with everything else. The panoramic sea-view infinity pool was fantastic. The room itself was spacious and well-equipped. The surrounding area has plenty to offer: a street with sea-view restaurants and bars, a seafood night market, and a large shopping mall with a supermarket. It's also very close to the airport and not far from Sunset Beach. Due to its location under the flight path, you might hear planes passing by. Most importantly, the price was reasonable, making the sea-view room excellent value for money.
CcmoalkSerene place. Nearby beach, pretty sunset.
There are still construction going on. Room is great, spacious, comfy bed, hot shower. The only downer is, very bad phone reception and zero wifi. Shame they have nice huge smart tv but cannot use.
Service wise, very bad. There's an obvious double standard on local vs foreigner. Local are left to figure out where their room is - it's a sizeable resort, u will get exhausted if u have a lot of luggage, no map given too. When asked for direction, the receptionist just said ”belakang sana”, while white tourist get escorted to their front door..
And since phone connection is bad, u have to walk all the way to reception to ask for help..wifi not working, fridge not working, fan at verandah not working...pretty bad experince we're glad it's only a night stay.
