The owner is Chinese, so communication is very easy. It's about a 10-minute drive to see the little blue penguins, making it a great stopover for one night.

This is the most luxurious hotel I've ever stayed in on a trip, though I guess I haven't really stayed in many fancy places, haha. The front desk staff were enthusiastic and gave excellent tips. The bellboy delivered our luggage right to the door, which was a nice touch. You have to take a boat to get to town; it costs $10 per trip with a card, which is a bit pricey, but it was a unique way to travel. Because it's a bit far from the town center, it's very quiet at night with minimal light pollution. You can step outside and see the stars, and the pool is great. The room itself was fantastic, though the lighting was a little dim. The bathroom was spacious.

I wish we didn’t have to leave so early because the bed was amazing! Great place nearby the shopping area. Only downside was that there is no shuttle to the airport. Taxi was 30$ for 1 minute ride, so we walked to the airport (takes up to 30mins depending how slow / fast you walk). The view is beautiful from the windows and the design in the room was great.

I've booked so many hotels on my trip that I can't quite remember the specific details of this one. However, the cleanliness and environment were impeccable, and parking was free.

Our stay was absolutely perfect. The stunning scenery speaks for itself, truly like living inside a postcard. But what really elevated the experience was the hotel's service: the staff were always smiling, greeted us proactively, and the room cleaning was meticulous. Any issues we had were resolved quickly. This attention to detail and thoughtful service, combined with the enchanting environment, significantly enhanced our overall happiness during the stay. Highly recommended. It's about a 10-minute walk to the town center, but the big advantage here is the convenient parking – parking is usually the biggest hassle in Queenstown. Most hotels in New Zealand have a check-out time around 10:00 AM, but if you talk to them, you can usually extend it to 11:00 AM.

The hotel's service truly deserves 5 stars. I bought a can of tuna at the supermarket and couldn't open it. When the young lady at the front desk found out, she immediately ran down to the kitchen downstairs to open it for me and brought it back up. The hotel provides a shuttle bus to and from the town center every hour. The shuttle drivers are two tall, handsome young men who are exceptionally patient with guests. Whenever guests are waiting, someone from the front desk will come out from the back office to help, ensuring customers never have to wait. The hotel is also very clean, and the bedding is comfortable. They even provide slippers and toothbrushes. The view from the hotel room is beautiful, and parking is free. Upon check-in, I received some delicious milk.

The hotel is conveniently located very close to Dunedin Walking Street. The atrium is beautiful, and there's a large fireplace on the ground floor. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped. Breakfast is served on the first floor for an additional fee.

The hotel is on the slope at the end of George Street, overlooking Dunedin. The appearance is small and fresh, and the inside is exquisite. It is so clean. Kitchenware, tableware, washing machine and dryer are all available. The superior one-bedroom room has a large bed + a single bed, especially suitable for a family of three.

HHuobatuThe hotel environment is particularly good, the proprietress is a Chinese sister, especially good, give me milk, it is very quiet, and very close to the scenic spot, there is a McDonald's and gas station ten meters away, there is a fish and chips 100 meters away, and the Chinese are also delicious but not friendly. In short, the hotel is very clean, the location is good, convenient and fast, parking is very convenient

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is a bit out of the way, so I wouldn't recommend it if you don't have a car. The hygiene was decent, but parking was a hassle with only a few spots available. The room itself was quite basic, similar to what you'd find at a budget chain like Home Inn. Luckily, I got to see the aurora right outside the hotel! Overall, it was acceptable.

::))We were thrilled to be the very first guests to leave a review for this stunning new resort! The location is fantastic, just a quick 10-minute drive to town, and our room offered breathtaking views of the Shot River, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. We arrived around 10 PM, and the hotel reception was impeccably prepared, warmly welcoming us and even upgrading our room! It looked exactly like the photos, with a design and interior that perfectly captured the vibe we were seeking. They had welcome drinks waiting for us, and we appreciated that milk was available on request at any time. The breakfast was a delightful a la carte experience, featuring an array of delicious options. The serving staff was not only attentive and kind but also provided excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants! We also indulged in room service, which exceeded our expectations in both taste and punctuality. Although the fitness room and movie room were still under construction, the small maintenance issue we encountered in the bathroom was addressed swiftly by the staff. Our stay has left us eager to return and see the final results of this new gem. I highly recommend this resort to everyone!

GGuest UserThe hotel boasts an excellent location, just a two-minute walk from the lake. The service was attentive; they helped store our luggage and even brought it up to our room. While the room facilities aren't brand new, they are well-maintained and complete. It's perfect for guests who want to step right out and enjoy the scenic views.

__WeChat38293****The hotel is not far from the intercity bus station, but you have to climb two hills, one of which is quite steep and long. The cleanliness was acceptable; I didn't experience the issues mentioned in other reviews. I stayed for three nights. For two nights, I was at the end of the 2nd-floor hallway, and the soundproofing was very poor; I could hear traffic passing by all night. For one night, I stayed on the 3rd floor in a room a bit further from the end, and it was very quiet at night. The kitchen is well-equipped with pots, bowls, and cutlery, and there's a microwave, oven, kettle, dish soap, and dishcloths.

MM252691****The hotel is situated on a hillside, offering a pleasant environment and a location quite close to the city center, about a 15 NZD Uber bike ride away. The in-room WiFi might not be great, but the view outside the window is beautiful.

PPang Cheng HianI recently stayed at Scenic Hotel Southern Cross and had a very pleasant experience. One of the biggest highlights of this hotel is its excellent location – it's within walking distance to many of Dunedin's main attractions, including the Railway Station, Baldwin Street (the world’s steepest street), and Queen’s Gardens. Whether you're in town for sightseeing or just want convenient access to key places, this hotel is ideally situated. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and efficient, and the staff were warm and welcoming, making the entire stay hassle-free. The room was clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable space to relax after a day of exploring the city. Another plus is the on-site hotel parking, which is a great convenience, especially in a central location like this. Overall, I’d recommend Scenic Hotel Southern Cross for anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located hotel in Dunedin with friendly service and all the essentials covered.
