Spring Festival Activity Preview As seasons change, warmth remains. This Horse Year Spring Festival, our Xizang and Han staff will join guests on New Year's Eve to make dumplings and *Guthuk* (Xizang's noodle soup), celebrating the arrival of the new year and sharing the warmth of reunion. Lobumtsang · Sanctuary Nestled in Xingfu Community, Chengguan District, Lhasa, Lobumtsang offers expansive views of the nearby Potala Palace. The name "Lobumtsang" originates from the owner’s Mi-nyag family heritage, meaning "Home Sheltered by the Divine Dragon." Legend has it that two centuries ago, this land was regarded as a dwelling of sacred dragons, where previous settlers met with misfortune. Yet, the owner’s grandfather settled here with his family, living in peace and prosperity—a tale cherished by locals ever since. Our boutique homestay blends authentic Xizang's style with Nepalese influences, equipped with high-quality amenities and heartfelt service. Each room is designed for comfort in all seasons, featuring a television, refrigerator, in-room safe, oxygen concentrator, humidifier, and premium brand bathroom essentials. Every piece of furniture is hand-painted by local artists with traditional Xizang's motifs, each carrying profound meanings and showcasing distinctive Xizang's artistry. Our team includes Xizang, Han, and Nepalese members, offering a diverse menu of Xizang, Chinese, Nepalese, and Western cuisine. The viewing restaurant not only overlooks the Potala Palace but also serves as a window into local daily life. At Lobumtsang, we welcome you with the warmth of home and the sincerity of Xizang, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay in Lhasa.

"I highly recommend the Dong Mawha Hotel! Its location is excellent, making it super convenient for getting around and finding places to eat. The room was spotless, free of any strange odors, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. The soundproofing was also fantastic. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and efficient with both check-in and check-out. The value for money here is simply amazing, I can't recommend it enough! The thoughtful details really stood out: a Kung Fu tea set, an instant hot water dispenser, a washer-dryer combo, a Dyson hairdryer, and they even provided a weighing scale and bathrobes. It made for a truly comfortable and hassle-free stay. I fell in love with this hotel after just one visit and have already recommended it to my friends. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip!"

"First, let me praise the cleanliness; it was truly spotless. When I first entered, I instinctively touched the bedside table and desktop, and there wasn't a speck of dust. The bathroom was also free of water stains and hair. For a guesthouse to achieve this level of cleanliness is better than many chain hotels. The room's overall design is warm and bright, with light beige walls and warm, non-glaring lighting. The curtains are cotton and linen, allowing light in but not letting in, so even during the day, it's not dark and feels very comfortable. They've spared no expense on amenities. There's a Marshall speaker on the table; I connected my phone and played a song, and the sound quality was excellent, with full bass. It was quite a pleasant surprise to have such a small treat in a place like Lhasa. The hairdryer is a Dyson, powerful yet lightweight, drying hair incredibly quickly without the arm getting tired from holding it up for so long. The humidifier deserves special mention. Lhasa is incredibly dry; I didn't use the humidifier the first night, and my throat was so dry I woke up several times in the middle of the night. The second night, I turned the humidifier on full blast, slept soundly until morning, and my nose didn't feel sore in the morning. This humidifier has a large water tank, so I don't need to refill it all night, which is great. The oxygen concentrator is the medical type, not a portable canister. I had a headache the night I arrived in Lhasa, and after inhaling for about ten minutes, it immediately relieved the pain; the effect was very noticeable. Plus, the machine isn't very loud, so it's not noisy even next to the bed. However, there is one minor drawback. The floor seems to be poorly maintained; some areas look old and even a bit dirty. Upon closer inspection, it's not actually dirty, but rather worn and scratched, but it does look unsightly. A renovation or a rug would greatly improve the experience. The flooring issue doesn't affect my sleep, but I hope the seller will take note of it."

Arro Khampa embraces reverence for nature, respect for ancestors, and gratitude for freedom as its core values. With a vision centered on pristine nature, local character, and creative living, it shapes a comfortable, multi-dimensional space for modern travelers. “Arro Khampa” means “Come, friend” in the local language—a warm greeting once exchanged among caravan travelers and traders along the ancient Tea-Horse Road. In the welcoming inns along the route, weary horsemen would unpack their heavy loads, gather around the hearth after greetings, and share stories and drinks. This simple yet heartfelt salutation reflected their deep camaraderie and tradition of mutual support. It was this spirit of unity and cooperation that helped them overcome the perils of one of the world’s most treacherous trade routes, sustaining and thriving along the way. Lhasa, a key hub on the Tea-Horse Road, holds special significance for Arro Khampa. It was both a resting point for caravans and a starting point for journeys into farther lands. Nestled along the Lhasa River in a developing creative district next to the old town, the lodge offers an urban retreat that balances community and privacy. Rooted in the contemporary expression of local culture, it believes in the spirit of adventurers and dreamers, and welcomes every guest with genuine, heartfelt hospitality.

"The hotel was absolutely amazing. I arrived around 8 PM, and they immediately offered me sweet tea and asked me to sit down and rest. The hotel staff had already checked me in. The air conditioning and oxygen generator were already on in the room, and the white fungus porridge on the table was at the perfect temperature. The overall facilities were excellent, the shower gel smelled wonderful, and the room was very clean. The kettle boiled water quickly, and the service was great. The only downside was the TV; it could be upgraded. The breakfast was delicious, especially the rice noodles—I ate two bowls! The chicken sausage was also excellent; many dishes featured beef and chicken, which are suitable for ethnic minorities, which was a big plus. The stir-fried ******* noodles were delicious, and the yogurt was also very good. However, the toppings were just average, and the honey was a little too sweet. But overall, it was fantastic. They first poured me a cup of tea, then I asked for hot milk, and they even prepared hot coffee for me – very thoughtful. The next morning, I had to catch a flight at 7 am, so I asked the hotel if they could prepare breakfast, and they thoughtfully provided bread, water, and milk. The hotel offered a choice between afternoon tea and evening drinks; I chose the drinks because I was busy in the afternoon and didn't go for the afternoon tea, but the drinks were truly amazing and delicious. Just look at the pictures! They gave me a gin and tonic, the orange one was Blood and Sand, the one with cucumber was Moscow Mule, and the red wine was Sangria. That was my order. The Blood and Sand and Sangria were very good (I recommend drinking the Sangria last). I also left an unused oxygen cylinder for you."

"Bringing family to Lhasa, our biggest concerns were altitude sickness and transportation inconvenience, and this guesthouse took good care of both. There was a free nasal oxygen concentrator in the lobby, and some rooms even had individual oxygen machines, which was reassuring for first-time visitors to high altitudes. The receptionist and owner were very attentive, reminding us not to rush, to drink plenty of water, and to rest as much as possible upon arrival. The location was also convenient, within walking distance of the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street. The rooms provided disposable towels, bath towels, and toilet seat covers, making us feel clean and at ease with family. The owner was incredibly welcoming, patiently chatting with my parents and even offering suggestions for our next day's activities. Our stay felt very personal and welcoming, not just a cold, impersonal accommodation."

Danzhe linshe oxygen enriched hotel is located in the northwest corner of the Jokhang Temple, in the courtyard of "danjielin Temple", the head of the four Dalin temples in Tibet. In the room, you can receive the baptism of Buddhism from a short distance, and you can have a panoramic view of the blue sky and white clouds, red house and white tiles through the large glass windows of the courtyard. It is a successful example of the transformation of traditional Tibetan courtyard, which skillfully implanted modern life elements into traditional architecture. The hotel is located at No.10, danjielin lane, close to Beijing Middle Road, kang'ang East Road, dosenger Road, Potala Palace, Dazhao temple, Xiaozhao temple, danjielin temple, cuomeilin temple, Shenli Times Square, Lhasa department store, and ancient Tibetan Hospital. It is about 2 minutes' walk to Dazhao temple and bakuo Street, which is absolutely the best geographical location It is the best choice to appreciate different ethnic customs or to perform special worship. All kinds of century old restaurants, big and small, are all around. The well-known Maji AMI Western food bar, namasede restaurant and guangminggang qiongtian teahouse are nearby. Enjoy the sunshine all the time, at the same time, you can taste the pollution-free green pure land food. The interior of the hotel adheres to the minimalist light luxury style. The clear and bright sunshine is sent into the hearts of the guests along the quiet and comfortable of the Tibetan temple. In a moment, the bottom of the heart is fresh, leisurely, peaceful and clean. When you are in the inner hall, your heart is like a long stream of clear spring, washing away all the trivial matters.

"The facilities are outdated, the windows have no screens, the room is small, there's no air conditioning, and the toilet door is a barn door that's hard to close properly; the gap opens right up to the window where the curtains can't be fully closed. The room is on the second floor, so at night, if you're alone, you have to close the window and stay inside."

Detailed & Social (Great for backpackers looking for a vibrant vibe) Title: Incredible community vibe and the best dorm experience in Lhasa! ”I spent 3 days in one of the shared dorms here, and it was easily one of the highlights of my time in Lhasa. The dorm rooms are incredibly clean, tidy, and well-organized, with sturdy bunks and enough space so you never feel cramped. The social energy in the main lobbyist is unmatched—it is so easy to grab a drink, strike up a conversation, and find travel buddies to split tour costs or explore the city with. They even had local singing and ******* dance performances right in the common area, so which was amazing to experience. To top it off, the hostel has a sweet resident cat who loves to hang out. If you’re a solo traveler looking for a comfortable dorm with a true community feel, this is the spot.” Barkhor bazaar (30 min walk/ small bus ride away) and Nice place to run 5 mins away by the riverside

Love the overall vibe of this place (I upgraded my room to Mountain View later on and it’s so good). There is also some sound-proof mechanism in the room and I was able to sleep so well ! (much better than when I was in Lhasa despite the increase in altitude). I was able to have great sleep and naps that prepped me very well for the day’s exploration and hiking. Now I know when I visit here again, there is a very comfortable place to stay (am planning to invite friends from Singapore over next year ::) Huge kudos to Mr Doje for bringing this place into existence in the Himalayas and organizing stargazing event every night. The night sky. What a wonder. I’m grateful to be here. p.s. Mr Doje is also super welcoming and helped me sorted out many stuff (like contacting ppl to find my traveling pillow & headset that I lost while moving around). Super amazing guy. p.s. 多吉先生也非常热情,帮我解决了很多事情(打了很多电话帮找我在旅途中丢失了的枕头和耳机)。Super amazing guy.

Hotel location is very good, it is convenient to take a taxi from the road. The decoration is also beautiful and distinctive. I didn’t expect that there is an elevator that is very comfortable. The room is also clean and furnished with Tibetan characteristics. I think there is one thing to pay attention to. The floor is not very good. There is a section of the floor (in the scope of the bed) that is made of thick wooden boards. I think it is a natural feeling. Suspense is good, but maybe due to the cost, these boards are very rough and there are a lot of nails left on them. If you like to walk barefoot, you may step on this. Some nails (the tip of the nail is in the eye, so it may be uncomfortable to step on the middle). These manipulating boards I don't know if barefoot will be a thorn. I suggest that the hotel pour a thin layer of transparent glue on these wood. I have seen other hotels do it with this women's toilet. This looks still very primitive, but there is a certain guarantee for customers. I believe the cost will not be expensive because it is only a small range. The main thing is more safe.

It's great to have a rest here! Although this community is far from the Potala Palace, it is very quiet here, and it is close to the Wencheng Princess Theatre. After watching the Qing performance, you can come back to rest soon. The room was clean, fresh and comfortable, the best place I have ever lived here! In addition, the staff and boss here are very good, they will be enthusiastic to help me, fortunately, if they have the opportunity, I will still want to live here.

This time we booked a room with a view. It was already night when we arrived at the inn. We could enjoy the night view of the Potala Palace by turning off the lights. We could also see the Potala Palace and the panoramic view of the surrounding area during the day. You can also take photos of the Sky Mirror on the rooftop (ignore the people and just look at the scenery). The handsome boss gave me delicious tea, and the fairy boss also gave me ******* incense. After watching the night view, I lit a ******* incense in the room. The faint fragrance is very suitable for use before going to bed. Come and stay! Definitely don't step into the trap 😄
