The room was clean and tidy, the staff were all very friendly, and my roommates were welcoming and had a great sense of community.
Facilities: Hot showers 24/7, and the room was quiet with no disturbances, perfect for introverts.
It was my first time staying in a hostel and it was a really novel experience. It was definitely worth the price, even better than some hotels. I just wish the Border Collie hadn't gone to sleep so early; I didn't get to see it! 😭😭😭

This is like a premium backpacker hostel. They play instrumental music in the washroom, the thickest towel ever, to utilize limited space in the shower room there is a waterproof curtain behind the door to cover clothes from water spray, there is also a cultural space on the 2nd floor, subway is within walking distance anyway. All the fine details truly reflects how the founder design a hostel that meets a backpacker needs. I feel comfortable and safe as a solo traveller.
The place had a wonderful ambiance and was spotlessly clean. The location is super convenient, just steps away from both the subway station and bus stops. Taxis are easy to hail, and you'll find plenty of supermarkets and convenience stores in the vicinity. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and it comes fully equipped with a shower, kitchen, and laundry facilities. A really pleasant stay overall.

After three years, I stayed here again. This is a bookstore-themed youth hostel, with a reading area downstairs and accommodation on the second floor. They've also added breakfast. The front desk service is warm and friendly, and the environment is great. I happened to visit on a weekday, so I had the room all to myself. The bed was very comfortable, and they even provided an extra blanket, so I wasn't cold at all at night. I really love this hostel! It's conveniently located near Lu Xun's former residence, making it easy to get anywhere. Plus, they offer qipao rental services, which is a great deal. I just forgot to take pictures before I left!

Considering it was a bustling Qingming Festival holiday, the price for this hostel was quite reasonable. The room itself was decent and felt pretty private, with a curtain on the wooden partition. It has shared bathrooms, and you have to change into slippers upstairs. It's located in an alley next to the Chocolate Museum on Hefang Street, and I almost missed it the first time. Even though it's in a commercial area, it's surprisingly soundproof; I couldn't hear any outside noise from my room. It's just a short walk to Wushan and the Hangzhou Museum, and a couple of blocks to Listening to Orioles in the Willows (Liulang Wenying), so the location is excellent. You can even take an evening stroll along West Lake.

On the shores of West Lake, I found a hostel I'd happily return to again and again.
To be honest, the name initially caught my attention. But after staying there, I realized the details are what truly make you want to stay.
🛏 Cleanliness: Linens are changed for each guest, and the duvets smell like sunshine. The shower rooms are wet/dry separated, so there's no standing water after showering.
🚽 Surprise: A smart toilet! That's a top-tier amenity for a hostel at this price point.
🎸 Atmosphere: In the evenings, you can hear guitar music in the common area. If you don't feel like socializing, you can just relax and listen to the music. If you want to chat, someone will naturally join in. No one judges you; it's very laid-back.
📍 Location: Right by West Lake, within walking distance, and surrounded by plenty of food options.
Next time I'm in Hangzhou, I'll definitely stay at 'Jian Zhi Er Qi' again.

I was really satisfied with the room; it offered great value for money. This guesthouse is quite unique, located within an ancient building. Best of all, there was no formaldehyde smell from renovations, which I'm very sensitive to. While it might be a bit old and small, the overall experience was excellent. They even have their own restaurant, which hosts events every night at 9 PM, like movie screenings, dancing, and releasing river lanterns. The value here is truly unbeatable. Plus, the location is superb – just a 3-minute walk to Lu Xun's Former Residence, right within the scenic area. Highly recommend it, it's really good!

Stepping into this hostel feels like walking into a warm and lively shared home. The lobby sofas are always filled with women from all over, some scrolling on their phones, others huddled together sharing their travel stories. Occasionally, the inviting aroma of takeout wafts through. It makes sense why I always come back to sell off some of my remaining stock here. The bunk beds are neatly made and simple. During the day, everyone heads out, and by evening, they gradually return to shower, organize their belongings, and sometimes exchange a few words. There's none of the stiffness of a hotel, just the full, vibrant pulse of everyday life. Strangers meet here briefly, transforming their journey into easy, healing ordinary days.

The environment is great, and the bedding is always changed by the auntie. The room type is cozy and particularly inviting.
The facilities are excellent, with high-spec computers that meet all needs without any lag.
The service is outstanding. The front desk lady is beautiful and kind, always ready to help with any issues.

This place is okay but I had slightly higher expectations to be honest. Cleanliness is alright, they give you a bag with a small towel upon request, both to be returned. Has free water dispensers, toiletries and a microwave. Common areas don't have a vibe but you can prepare and have your food and play video games as everyone else. The biggest common area is to the right side of the reception, which, as per usual, they don't tell you.
There is that Olympic Stadium nearby, but the city center is actually on the other side of the river. From here you will either need to take public transportation or a cab to West Lake or other interesting parts of town. Walking to the light show on the other side of the river bank took more than 1.5 hrs and it is not supposed to be walked.
There are no useful signs on the building but the way to get here is to use the ”hotel entrance” and use the single elevator straight ahead. Do not turn right to use the elevators in the elevator room. If you do, only the very right one brings you to the 5th floor where you will check in. Very confusing and no signs to help you. It also might take a bit until the right elevator arrives.
The shoe rack was inside the room, which resulted in a very smelly room. Guitar with old strings, barely playable. If I came back, I'd rather try out another place.

QQingqiuruhuatuikeaiThe boss is very nice, and there are two lovely volunteer sisters. It's fun like a dream. The boss and the two lovely volunteer sisters live a loving life by the sea. I like their atmosphere very much. I want to give my cat to the boss sister so that the cat can live a good life. Although it is a youth hostel, it is no worse than a hotel. (The hotels on the island are of varying quality. Instead of spending five or six hundred to find a so-so one, it is better to have the boss sister's youth hostel.) The house is warm and romantic, and there is a breath of life everywhere. It's so romantic to face the sea and watch them paint.

GGuest UserMy first time trying a hostel was a wonderful surprise! The environment was clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere created by the owner was fantastic. Upon arrival, the owner introduced the sights, helped plan our itinerary, and even recommended restaurants – the food was delicious! 😋 In the evening, they organized a movie screening. The big screen was amazing, and the owner's two little sisters were so cute! After the movie, we sat together to share our thoughts – a novel and fun experience. I also want to thank the owner for helping us with our interview assignment. Reflecting on the movie experience, while algorithms may influence hostel operations to some extent, I believe that such genuine and warm hospitality will surely be rewarded in the future. Wishing the owner continued success in their business! 🥳

MMaxChongCheck-in staff and in house staff were really patient, respectful, and helpful. Asked them for direction and they kindly searched for it.
This is a dormitory style homestay with shared room and bathroom. We stay in a private room with a private bathroom and toilet.Has hot water with good pressure. Non smoking room. Room is clean but mattress is really old and should be replaced. The tatami layout is nice with a simple sitting area.Recommend for owner to install more clothes hanging hooks for convenience. No tv in room.
They have a large common area with regular and hot water dispenser. Many table and chairs for use.
Location is far from city centre but within 10km by metro. Same distance to the west lake
