"The hostel is located in the best location that basically everywhere is walkable. You can also take bus and metro nearby conveniently if you need to go to the outskirt of town. The room is spacious and they even have a little balcony so that some fresh air comes in and you can enjoy the view. The staff is super helpful and friendly. It would be perfect if they have laundry and pantry."

"The location was great, and the entrance and common areas were clean. You can borrow hair dryers and kettles from the entrance. Also, unusually for a hostel, bath towels are provided free of charge. Here are the things that bothered me: In the 6-person room, it was inconvenient that the bathroom and toilet weren't separate. There's no separate bathroom outside the room, so you should expect waiting times. When I arrived, both elevators weren't working, and I had to carry heavy luggage up to the 4th floor via the stairs. Beds are not assigned in advance. I checked in around 10 PM, and only one top bunk was available, and there was a clearly used bath towel on it. The bedding was also a bit messy. Since you get your own bath towel at the front desk when checking in, I assume someone in the same room moved to a bottom bunk. Because there's no assignment, it makes moving around possible. I ended up having to sleep on an uncleaned bed, but I didn't have the energy to go up and down the stairs to the 4th floor again, so I just gave up. While you could say I just had bad luck, it's something that could happen again due to the system."

"On a busy street, it’s not very quiet, but you can wear earplugs. Your experience depends on the other travelers, of course, if they are considerate. The staff is very nice and accommodating. The reason I like this place is because it has a lot of character. It’s a turn-of-the-last century, 1890s palace, with very fancy ceilings, parquet wooden floors, and a marble floor lobby. It’s a real palace, one of many in Portugal! In 1914 it was rented to the Swiss Ambassador of Portugal. Although the place is quite dated now, it still has a lot of class. If you have a little more money, you can rent a small suite, higher up and quieter, also with credit card points (free or almost ). Unfortunately the internet only works in the lobby if you have a mobile phone. It seems to work fine for iPads and computers, strangely enough. It has a kitchen and washer / dryer. The fridge is old-style retro, as well as the deco in the whole hotel / hostel. (small fridge, but it does have a small freezer, too.) The place has a restaurant, which is popular. If you eat a large breakfast you can include it with your rent, it costs about 9€ (I don’t , so the kitchen was fine – modern electric stove top, microwave – no oven!) The top bunk of a three-tiered system is fairly safe, as it has steps, instead of ladder rungs. It has wooden lockers (bring your own lock) and small boxes, hidden in the stairs at every bed level. Not for the faint of heart or those afraid of heights… or those who can’t do stairs. Two flights of stairs up! Shared rooms on first and second floors, kitchen is on the first. No elevator to the shared rooms, unlike the suites."

"Very comfortable and clean. Free coffee in the lobby, such a wonderful thing! Many bathrooms available so there is never a wait. All the bathrooms very clean, cleaned often. Small kitchen area on the floor with microwave, refrigerator, and a few dishes. Very helpful! Great location a block from the metro, many restaurant nearby as well."

"We had a family suite, 4 beds and a private washroom. The soundproofing of the place is very poor. There's supposed to be quiet hours, but it was not enforced very well, if at all. At 12am, there was a group of very rowdy crowd running and making loud noises but no one came to enforce it. .If you are a deep sleeper, this will be okay, but if you are a light sleeper like myself then I don't recommend it. We were told different information by different staffs. At first they told us that each towel will be 3euro, but upon returning and just going to get 1 as we bought 2 elsewhere, we were told it's free because we got the family room. We were charged 32 euro for the tourist fee, even though trip.com states it was 24."

"Everything was great – the location is very convenient, close to the train station, making it easy to get around and walk to attractions. The staff were also very friendly. The only drawback was that the shower kept automatically shutting off, so I had to keep pressing the button while showering, which was a bit inconvenient. The common area and rooftop cafe were also very nice."

"The hostel is located in centre, we can walk easily to reach the sightseeing spot . The staff in hostel is hospitalized and the breakfast is very good. We can share our travel experience with each other when we stay in dormitory. "
