Such a cozy spot for an overnight stay. Upstairs room i got with no balcony access like the rooms on the ground floor but still has the windows to look out on to the park. So check if you are getting the ground floor for patio access or upstairs room window to park views. Quite a noisy street on the main drag in a built up area but still close to the Airport and shopping centre. Room was very well equipped with utensils and microwave. Bed was clean & comfy just needed a couple more pillows to perch up especially for 2 adults to watch TV. Bonus the stand up cooling fan. Bathroom with a good size shower & basic ammenities and a side cupboard to hang clothing. Overall a comfortable stay.
The location is perfect, located in the heart of the city centre, 1 mins walk to the nearest countdown/woolworth. You can find anything you need in the area, you name it, you will find it.
It is best for traveller first leg in New Zealand. There is a big common area, You get to meet a lot of backpackers which you can exchange information.
Highly recommended.
The only short is that the water in the shower is too low, it is like spraying water on you.

The decoration and equipment are very new, the kitchen appliances and utensils are sufficient, the bathroom grade is also very high, the room is large, the windows are large, and the lighting is good. The only downside is that the circuit switch design logic of the room is a bit complicated and chaotic, not clear enough, and the ceiling focus light is too dazzling. No front desk service. Shopping and restaurants are very convenient. There are homeless people on the block. The overall experience is still very good. The new price ratio is quite high and it is recommended.
The service was excellent! I was even upgraded to a suite upon check-in, which was a fantastic surprise for this trip. When the hairdryer stopped working in the evening, they promptly brought me a new one. You can easily reach the front desk by just dialing 2 on the in-room phone.
The location is absolutely perfect. There's a supermarket right downstairs, and both the pedestrian street and the Sky Tower are just a short stroll away. It offers incredible value for money, and there are tons of restaurants and bubble tea shops right around the corner.
I am travelling with family with kids and elderly. The grand is probably the best central location that you can find in Auckland if you are taking public transport. The pickup and dropoff for Skybus to Auckland airport is a 5 min walk away. The surrounding has plenty of restaurants including japanese & Chinese food. Facilities wise it has a gym and a heated swimming pool which the kids enjoy. Room is clean & spacious. Hotel price wise is on a high but weighing all the plus points, I will book it again for all the reasons above.
Phoned in for help. VERY kind, patient and helpful. Stayed on the line until I said we were okay.
Valet Service: Excellent in every way.
Concierge: thorough and thoughtful. Made moving from car, to book-in area to the room very simple.
Booking In: polite, efficient, friendly.
Room itself: magnificent!! View: Awesome!
Overall: Staying at SkyCity made our Ak visit stress-less and easy. I’ll be doing this all again, hopefully it will be very soon!! Thank you to all. 😊
I really liked the hotel!
I had a gorgeous room with a washing machine, kitchen, large bed, work area and a view of the tower.
When checking in, they asked for a $500 deposit. A little unexpectedly large, but they returned it upon check-out.
The kitchen has excellent new appliances. I really enjoyed using the oven.
There are problems with the Internet. It doesn't connect, the connection drops with an error. You have to try to connect again many times. It connects after the 5th time.
You can set any temperature on the climate control remote, but if you set it to 23-24 degrees, it doesn't start heating right away, but after 5-10 minutes.
A comfortable office chair. You can sit and work at the table.
I was allowed to check in a little earlier and it was also possible to check out at night, since the reception is open 24 hours.
There is a restaurant with buffet breakfasts.
The hotel is just everything you need in Auckland. We booked a one-bedroom suite, with a double bed and a sofa bed that can fit us 3 well. There are enough amenities for travellers abroad from washing/dryer machine, microwave, oven, fridge, stove, kitchenware, dining table. Housekeeping is daily so this helps clear the rubbish in the room much. Staff is helpful and you get to use anytime fitness for free (we didn't use it though).
Walking distance to 24/7 shop, Woolworths, Sky Tower, Les Mills Auckland City, Britomart, University of Auckland.
The only downsides for us are unstable hot shower and air con is a bit stingy. But during our stay it's cold enough that we don't need Aircon.
We'll definitely come back here if we travel to Auckland.
This hotel sits almost next to the Sky City and Sky Towers and very close to the airport bus stops but is a long walk towards the harbour. So it depends what your intention was. Other than that we didn't use any of the facilities or breakfast so there is not much to comment on their qualities. The check in was a bit of slow as the staff seemed too distracted by a chatty customer in front of us to clear the queue first.
