"The hotel was difficult to locate as there was no clear signage. Due to limited space, they did not allow us to store our luggage, so we had to bring everything back to the train station to use lockers, which meant extra cost for us. I understand that the official check-in time is 3pm, but since we booked three rooms, some flexibility—such as allowing us to place our luggage in one room—would have been appreciated. Other hotels have offered this when we faced similar situations.
The room was also very noisy as the train station is right next door. Light sleepers should avoid this hotel. The staff’s service was average, nothing particularly noteworthy. Aside from these issues, everything else was fine."

"What an amazing little hotel! Perfect location right in the middle of everything. We booked the budget canal room and the view was beautiful. "A great find - this super-clean and modern hotel was perfect for an overnight stop. Rooms were very clean with everything needed in case you’d forgotten your bathroom bits.
Lovely restaurant with superb breakfast. Good choice for evening snacks or dinner too. Located just on the outskirts of Bruges it’s a 3km walk into the main square, perfect for us. Lovely lady on reception was so kind and helpful, making check-in so easy. Surrounded by a field of sheep one side and cute little pathway the other, a real little gem. Highly recommend.
One mention is the room windows are terrifyingly dangerous and the pillows aren’t the best!"

"This word of mouth is not from Hotel Het Gesterikhof.
When we headed to the hotel, there was a sticker on the door saying, ”We are arranging to stay at another hotel because it is under renovation” (as of early February).
I was surprised because I didn't contact you in advance, but I will arrive in about 10 minutes on foot to another hotel written there.
I was able to stay at an upgraded hotel without any problems and no additional charges, but I wanted you to inform me by email at least."

"Cons:
- The rooms are outside of the main building. Dorms are large but it gets really hot and there's no AC or even fans. It's quite suffocating, even with the windows open (and there's a bar just next to it, so it can be nosy in the evening). Thankfully Belgium nights aren't too hot.
- Showers and toilets are in the same room, and shared for men and women, which can feel like a lack of privacy.
- No hairdryer or any amenities in the shower room.
Pros:
- Good location, 15min walk to the center.
- Beautiful restaurant inside the main building.
- Free earplugs"

"A very Cosy hotel right in the old city centre. Staff members are so nice to put chocolate bars in my allocated room as birthday gift as I check in on my bday.
Beware there are rooms with wooden logs that may not be acceptable by some tourists. Some rooms are on G/F or underground floors which you may need some psychological preparation.
In a word, a very good hotel with professional staff and excellent location to go everywhere"

"Everything was perfect excepted the mattress is too soft and it makes your back pain.

"Fantastic hotel! I stayed here for a business trip back in 2007, and returning in 2026, it feels just as welcoming. The hotel facilities are great, the environment is clean and hygienic, and the front desk staff are incredibly warm and patient. The restaurant is excellent, and the bedding is wonderfully comfortable! Definitely recommend!"

The location is excellent, and all the tourist attractions in Bruges are within walking distance. The hotel staff is considerate and enthusiastic. If I come to Bruges again in the future, I will choose to stay here again.

GGuest UserThe hotel itself is stunning, and the staff couldn't be more welcoming and helpful. However, the room had a couple of minor issues. The shower head wouldn’t stay centered, causing water to spill onto the bathroom floor. Additionally, the hair dryer malfunctioned, turning on and off randomly. Since I was only staying one night, I didn’t request a room change, but it was inconvenient. Despite these issues, I would stay here again because the main hotel facilities and staff were excellent.

GGuest UserFriendly staff, lovely hotel, buffet breakfast was good value and convenient. Location was spot on and the family room was cosy, clean and had loads of space. Nuts from mini bar were cheaper than in the supermarket which we couldn’t believe. Only downside was the shower head wouldn’t stay in the holder so we had to hold it to shower which was a shame. Overall we would return if we came back to Bruges.

GGuest UserThe room is clean and tidy, and the overall layout of the hotel is very comfortable. It has air conditioning and a bathtub. There is a courtyard inside the hotel. You can reach the main square within a two-minute walk outside. There is also a supermarket when you turn right when you go out. Knowing that this was my first time in Bruges, the guy at the front desk introduced the tour route in detail and was very enthusiastic!
